She'd been startled by the quick reactions of Alehkar, unused to anyone even trying to protect her. It wasn't like she'd never been raped, she had, but preferred not to think about it especially in times like these. And she'd found out another thing; flying did not do well with her when she was drunk.

The minute he pushed off, she had managed to bury her face in his chest, hiding from the ground that was far beneath her feet. In her slightly drunken state, this did not bode well. Asher barely heard what he said, she had bitten down rather harshly on her lower lip as she was careful to not look at the ground. It figures, she could tolerate any creature from the sea but couldn't handle the air.

Alehkar looked down at her and frowned slightly to himself before flying to a circle of grass within the forest. The little opening perfect as it was far away but still hidden, and also easy for him to get back..But perhaps not so much to walk. He should really have payed more attention before landing in the middle of the small open field. It would take them at least an hour to get home.

Once landed he made sure she was steady on her feet before letting her go, concern following his expression as he tried to take a look at her. “Are you okay? I’d get you some water but we’re sort of far away from that, and I somehow doubt you want to go flying again..” He tried to make it a bit of a joke, a smile tilting his lips to try to cheer her up from her groggy state. He still wanted to go tear those others throat out..But that was not like him, so he pushed the thought aside.

"I don't like heights," was all she said as she stepped back from him, keeping her eyes closed for the moment as she oriented herself. She knew it was his nature to protect people around them but she was still surprised he had, showing just how low she thought of herself and most of society did as well.

"You didn't have to," she said softly, more because she hadn't opened her eyes. When she did, they were careful as she looked up at him, a wry smile quirking her lips. "I'm used to having to fend for myself and I could have taken care of myself."

A soft smile came to his lips as he shrugged and fell backwards to land sitting down, legs sprawled and leaning back on his elbows to drop the liquor bottle he still had in his grasps. He watched it roll away from him a bit before his attention went back to her, trying to catch his breath a bit from the previous adrenaline. “I know I did not have too. What did you want me to do leave you there? Hardly. I wanted too. And I’m sure you could have taken care of yourself but..” he trailed off and shrugged his shoulders.

“I doubt I could have taken them down with you, and I don’t want you getting hurt due to my stupidity. Sorry about flying you away, I did not realize you did not do well with heights, I wasn’t thinking.” A frown placed to his lips before he shook his head as if toe shake the frown away from his thoughts. Shifting his body slightly he opened the top of the bottle and took a sip, trying to calm the nerves that were shivering through his body.

Asher shook her head before sitting opposite the daemon, fingers combing through the grass as she thought. "I don't exactly advertise not liking heights, I think you're the first person to know that I do not like heights. And I can fight," she said, the last part of her statement a bit indignant as she raised violet eyes to look at him, shifting slightly into a more comfortable position.

She chewed on her lower lip for a minute, thinking as her eyes darted around the clearing. She was a bit childish at the moment, more like she was trying to prove that she could play with the big kids rather than always being left behind.

Alehkar’s gaze softened at her last statement, it was like she was scared of showing any weakness at all. Like she was always proving herself and she never felt she had done enough. “ I don\t doubt that you know how to fight Asher… I just did not want to risk it in that situation. You can call me a coward if you wish, but six to two and I have no weapons on me, is not a good calculation in my mind..” Shrugging his shoulders he took another sip before closing his eyes. He smiled softly and offered her the bottle with holding it out. “I wont tell anyone that you have a problem with heights by the way Asher..”

Asher's only response was to stick her tongue out at the daemon before flopping back to lie down in the grass after shaking her head to his offer of alcohol. After that, she decided at least one of them needed to keep their senses about them, even if they were already partially drunk.

"You'd better not," she said, her tone still a bit indignant as she shifted to fold her arms behind her head, cradling the back of her skull in her hands as she looked up at the night sky. "I wouldn't want to have to get creative revenge on you," she said with a light laugh to show she was teasing. Mostly.

The Daemon tossed the bottle of liquor to the side slightly and sat up with a goofy grin on his face. ”I‘ve decided I like you. Hanging out with you is fun, even if you do get into a lot of trouble. ” It was as if he forgot exactly what just happened, and the frustration was completely gone at her almost jesting tone. The grin spreading a bit more as he shifted to lean a bit towards her before looking around. In almost a whisper he asked; ”Lets play a game?” A light laugh coming across his face as he awaited a response, which would probably be no.

Asher leaned up on her arms as she watched him, tossing her head to let her hair trail behind her. "What kind of game?" she asked with a half-smile tilting her lips. "As long as it doesn't involve baring my soul to you, then I'm fine," she said with a laugh as she lay back down in the grass, staring up at the sky.

She shifted slightly, chewing her lower lip, as she looked up at the daemon with an arched eyebrow, as if she were waiting for him to explain what game he wanted to play.

Alehkar frowned slightly as he studied her, ”Well..Actually most of the games I know involve flying..And you can’t do that..Because you have no wings. “ Humans were so odd, how could they survive without being able to fly around? It was very odd indeed and Alehkar would have to get used to it. ”Don’t you have any suggestions? Hey wait..” Alehkar jumped up and went over to grab a stick before putting it into the ground and drawing six boxes. ”Do you know x’s and o’s?” He asked as he put an x in the middle. Turning to look back at her with that goofy grin as his head tilted to the side slightly.

Asher arched an eyebrow at him, shaking her head while a laugh escaped through her lips. She sat up, tucking one leg under her while she watched him with amusement dancing in her violet eyes. She bit her lip, bringing it under before releasing it, nodding. "One thing I do know how to play," she said with a light laugh.

She looked at the boxes he drew, seeming to contemplate her move for a moment before she made it, drawing an "O" in a corner.

Alehkar grinned at her move as he seemed to contemplate his move before placing an ‘x’ in the bottom corner. ”I’mma winnnn” He chimed out his grin growing, and his eyes had a slight shine to them. Whether that be from being drunk off the liquor or just suddenly being really happy. Probably both. Taking the stick and poking at her arm lightly and playfully with that stupid grin of his before holding it in the air for her to take it from him. ”jinx jinx..” he muttered half under his breath, waving it in the air a bit.[/blockquote]

Asher laughed lightly, reaching over to poke the daemon's nose with her finger in retaliation as she took the stick from him, twirling it expertly between slender fingers. She chewed on her lower lip, an unconscious habit that she developed when she was thinking about something and one that got her in trouble with a certain subset of people.

She made her move patiently, smiling lightly as she drew her mark.

"Your turn, darlin," she drawled, violet eyes sparkling in laughter at the silliness of their little game.

His nose scrunched up at the movement before taking a step backwards and putting an x’ between her two o‘s. “I promised no soul bearing.. So I’ma not ask you any questions that involve it.. So what is your favorite color?” His brows rose at the question, ,tossing the stick towards her aimlessly. A frown placed over his lips as he studied their little game with slight confusion. ”I don’t think I’ma win…” He muttered under his breath with the pout still on his lips, eyes moving to the game and back up to her. Leaning over the game a bit before standing up straight, ”hmm…”

Asher laughed lightly at his statement, tucking her hair behind her ear and a knee tucked under her chin and rested her chin on her knee. "I think I won," she laughed as she drew an 'o' above his two 'x's.

"As for my favorite color, I would have to say blue," she laughed as she tossed the stick to the side and stretched her arms above her head with a small smile. "Do you have a favorite color, or do you just like them all?" she asked innocently.

A frown came across his face as he tossed the stick, pouting for a moment as he fell backwards and sat next to her. ”Not fair.. I think you cheated..somehow..Yes. That’s it. You cheated.” he huffed slightly before rolling his eyes and leaning back again to look up at the sky which was getting dimmer by the moment. ”I don’t have a favorite color, I don’t like to discriminate. I love them all. Except pink. Because pink is just an ugly color.. It’s getting light out, and I have no idea where I took us. I think we’re lost Asher..” He was looking around, his entire statement made as he studied their surroundings. ”we’re atleast an hour out of the city by foot..”

Asher laughed then, a light laugh that showed her childishness. It was a laugh that was not often heard from adults and only from children for a scant few years. "I can promise you that I did not cheat, Alehkar," she said with a smile on her lips.

She followed suit and peered up at the sky, shaking her head for a moment as she studied their direction. "We left the city on the South entrance and turned South by southwest to go to the lake," she murmured as she traced a map in the air. "Unfortunately, I did not pay much attention to the direction you flew because it startled me and I do not like heights," she laughed.

"So we are an hour outside the city if we go the right direction, and the wrong direction will either lead us to Feriay, Feratu, or into the Plains."
