Asher was back out on the road, traveling through the mountains to pass into the heart of Yviex. She knew that with the coming winter, she really shouldn't have accepted the job, but anything was better than being trapped there alone. She normally had no problem with it, but now she just needed out of there for the time being. Something had changed and with it, she had as well.
She pulled the hood back down from where it had blown back off her head for the umpteenth time and then gave up again, shrugging and letting it go and flop down. The snow was building up and she had to reach a place to camp by nightfall or else this would all be her grave and where she would be buried. The sun was still high, but provided little comfort to her and any other travelers, instead reflecting off the snow and blinding them.
She knew her way though and was happy to go that way and avoid as much trouble as possible, although it had a knack for finding her, such as the three burly creatures who just stepped into her path. She paused there for a moment, eyes narrowing as she watched them spread across to prevent the way.
"Just what I need, bandits," she muttered, already in a bad mood from traveling. Where was help when you needed it?

It had been quite some time since he had last seen her, mainly because he had figured that the young human was not wanting his company any longer. He wasn’t avoiding her, but he was no where close to the island that she inhabited. He was on his way to the heart of Yviex, when the wind was increased too much for him to fly he started to walk. When turning a slight corner his sky blue eyes fell on a bit of trouble a head. Alehkar was in no way expecting to find such a scene in the middle of the mountain top, and he definitely did not expect Asher to be there. Her back too him and three goons blocking her way to move forward, barricading her in.
His wings spread out as they inched closer to her, his eyes narrowing. She couldn’t just stay out of trouble? He thought she was not going to be leaving the island! Why was she up on the mountain? He hadn’t worried about her for the mere fact he assumed she would be staying at home, where it was mostly safe for her. He grumbled something as he walked up behind her to face the three goons. Wings spread as he stood right behind her, body brushing slightly as his wings curved a bit forward until he moved in front of her, his back to the three men. Wings blocking their entire vision of him as he turned to Asher. Not really bothered with the bandits hinder them. “You are absolutely ridiculous!”

The tiny islander almost threw a punch but checked the relfex, giving the daemon an indignant stare. "I'm ridiculous? I'm not the one flying all the way around the goddamn world looking for an adventure after being holed up in a house for who knows how long!" she shot back, crossing her arms in front of her as she focused on the daemon.
"And I didn't ask for you to come and attempt to rescue me, I can take care of myself," she snapped at him, putting her hands on her hips. Violet eyes just seemed to scream that she wanted to be anywhere else but here, but work called and answer it she must to survive in this world.
She tossed her head back, clearing the hair out of her face as she looked up at him defiantly. "And it's not like we're married or any of that bullshit. Hell, we aren't even lovers, so I don't need you trying to rescue me," she muttered under her breath, not caring if he could hear her or not.
Of course the goons would take this time to attempt to make some sort of robbery attempt of the pair of them. She scowled, ducking down as she drew her own blade in answer, more than ready to finish the fight that the three men had started.

Alehkar’s eyes were blazing as she yelled at him, his hands balling into fists at the defiant lift of her chin. His jaw tensed as his eyes narrowed down at her, that was until she grabbed her blade and crouched down to go after the three guys that were sneaking closer to the pair of them. Was she absolutely crazy? Three big men against the tiny little human and a small blade was hardly an even match. At the very least she would stab a man before ending up limp by one of their hands. The mere thought of it caused him to grind his teeth as he brought his wings to his side and turned and sucker punched one of the bandits square in the jaw. The guy was taken by surprise and stumbled back, falling on his ass in the snow, which obviously just angered the other two. After all, odds were against the daemon and the feisty human.
The Daemon had pushed himself in front of the lady, his large frame shadowing over her tiny one. Eyes darkened as two daggers slipped out of his sleeve and into his hand. “You can take care of yourself? That is a laugh. You can’t even stay home let a lone out of danger!” His voice had mock amusement in it, slick with an emotion that could not be judged. Eyes remaining glaring at the other two as the third one began to get up. Alehkar kicked hard at one of the goons knee caps to make them fall before slicing his blade barely against his chest, pain seething through the strangers throat as he stumbled back. “And I know I am nothing to you, but that will not stop me from wanting to protect you.”
By the time the other goon got up, he was stepping forwards with his arms tense and his grip tight on the hilts of his weaponry. His body attempting to block Asher from not only them hurting her but her hurting them. He didn’t know why he was so angry, and a slight discomfort was in his chest at the thought of her getting hurt. Obviously though, it was a lost cause. She just attracted the worst people imaginable, and Alehkar had not seen so much ruthless trouble in a very long time. One of the goons randomly shot up and tackled the Daemon away from Asher. He fell to the ground with a loud curse, taken completely off guard. A heavy punch being made to his face, and another before the Daemon used his blades to slice the sides of each of the goons cheeks.
The yelp of pain caused the goon to back off and put his hands to his cheeks before cursing about looking for an easier mark, and something about them being crazy before picking up the other two and pulling them away into the darkness. Alehkar was sitting up from where he was laying, eyes burning as he watched them book it down the path and disappearing. His hand went to his jaw to run over it lightly before wincing and staring down at the ground. Not wanting to look at Asher as he dropped both blades. “What the hell are you doing here anyways..” His voice was shaky and murmured half under his breath as he tried to catch it.

Asher gave him an indignant look from where she had also gotten into the fight, having only been hit once before she had laid him flat out, her mood already sour. The daemon yelling at her didn't help things, so she just shook her head, sliding the blade home after cleaning it off.
"Work," was all she said before dunking her hands in the snow to clean them off. "I have to make a living somehow. I only have myself to rely on."
She wasn't exactly in the best of moods and having him tell her that she was incapable of taking care of herself just pissed her off. After all, how else had she survived for as long as she had? There had been no one to take care of her throughout her entire life and she just shook her head, turning away from the daemon as she rubbed at her eyes irritably.
The only hit had been to the side of her face where her lip was a tiny bit swollen and her cheek was red, but it was nothing new to her. She pressed a cold hand to it, helping a little bit before shaking her head. "I have to get moving again," she said quietly.

”Get moving..” He grumbled as he stood up from his seated position. Running a hand through his hair to push it away from his face, a frown on his lips as he stared at her in complete disbelief. She was really going to keep going up the mountain side? Was she absolutely insane. The wind was picking up, quite heavily as he put his arms around himself, hair flying around like flames above his head. Moving towards her, hands in fists under his arms as he stared at her before shaking his head.
”It’s not safe.. You should be home. I will take you there. It’s going to get worse,” In reference to the weather. He looked around, then to where the path continued and the goons had run away too. “Why don’t you just call in sick Asher..” His voice quieted ever so slightly as he kept his eyes on her. Biting his lower lip in a nervous habit before standing up straight and shoving his hands into his pockets. “If you keep going. I’m going to go with you. And I doubt that would be good for business.”
His eyes softened from their hardened blaze prior, glancing down at the ground after he spoke. He knew she was going to be angry with him. Probably flip out on him or something around the lines, but he couldn’t help it. Was he supposed to just let her go off galloping about the mountain tops with the wind so high, and the chill creeping up. It would just get worse.

Asher looked at him finally, shaking her head as she kept her chilled hand pressed to the puffy lip, hiding it from the daemon for the time being. "You just don't get it, do you? There are no sick days for me. I either do the job or someone replaces me and I become obsolete and can be killed. I know far too much to be kept alive. So if this is your plan to get me killed, then by all means, keep going with it," she said, finishing with a glare as she dropped her hand and gestured with it.
"So save your life for someone who is far more worthy and deserving of it because I'm just another person from the underground who won't be missed when I finally die," she said before turning away from him and moving back up the mountain path once more.

Alehkar dropped his gaze as she started to walk away, biting his lower lip and keeping his sight on his feet. What was he to do? If he followed her they would surely, who ever ‘they’ were, would not appreciate the new comer to their meet up. But if he went back, and left her to continue who knows what could happen. Who says those goons weren’t part of whoever she was going to go see? If he left, he probably would not come back. It was too much for him to handle.
It was not as though she wanted anything from him, hell she probably just wished he would leave her alone. He muttered something under his breath before lifting his gaze to see that she was going up the pathway again. If she kept going soon she would be in danger, no matter if she cared or not he could not let her do that. Even if she would be in danger if she did not go, to him the immediate was more important. His arms tensed before he caught up to her and swung an arm around her waist.
He growled as he held her against his chest, arm tense with a good grip. “You can’t go.. I wont let you go somewhere where they could just kill you without even thinking. Perhaps because you do have too much information. I would miss you if you were no more, and then I would probably go crazy and kill a bunch of them for revenge or die trying. And I don’t care if I’m being melodramatic. I wont let you go. And you can fight me all you want.” His voice was rough and forced out through his tensed jaw, trying to not have to fly away with her if he had too. After all, she did not like heights. She tensed up, pushing away from him for a moment before she gave up on that, listening to what he said. He was taller than her by a good deal and her feet dangled off the ground. All she could do was listen because looking like a small child at the moment and all she could do was sit there.
"Why are you not letting me go? I'm not important enough for you to keep risking your life over when there are more important people to protect," she said, her voice soft.
She would force him to take charge, rather than doing anything else. She pushed back against him, wriggling around so he either had to drop her or do something else.

Alehkar frowned as she began to wiggle in his arm, obviously she was keen on going. It was more her words though, that irritated him the most and had his eyes darken with an unreadable emotion. His other hand swooped under her knees to carry her with both arms, tightening his grip. Abruptly he pushed off into the air with force as his wings spread out and he took off into the cold wind. His arms attempting to block her, before a slight glowing could be seen where his hands were placed. The very least he could do was keep her warm and from not being nauseous.
He knew how much she hated to be in the air, but there was no other choice for him. Well there was, but he wouldn’t allow her to go get into trouble. It was freezing outside, absolutely bone chilling, although she would remain warm with the help of his gift. The last thing he needed was her to freeze in his arms. That was until he looked to the left and right at his wings before swearing under his breath. He had to get down rather quickly. He did not say anything to her. Not a word. No doubt she was probably cursing at him or something, but he could not hear up in the air.
It was not long before he landed onto a porch that was slick with ice. Landing rather carefully before he let the tiny human down on to her feet. The glowing stopped, and he turned and opened the door to the porch leaving it open. There was no where else to go but inside, as it was a drop down on all three sides of the balcony. “You are important to me. So get over your self loathing, and accept it. Or hate me. It’s up to you. But i would suggest coming inside before you start reaming me out.. It's rather cold..” He shook his head as he walked into a rather dusty kitchen type area. His frame was shivering, but he attempted to ignore it as he turned to finally look back at her.”Hungry?”

Asher merely glared at him deciding to just say 'fuck it' and pout like a child. She pulled her hood up over her head and sat down outside, ignoring the cold and instead just staring blankly out. Violet eyes glazed over as she seemed to be pouting just a bit and ignoring the daemon.
She just really didn't know what to make of everything, especially since Alehkar was so dead-set on trying to prove her wrong about her entire life. She'd been alone her entire life so she didn't quite know how to understand and deal with someone who just suddenly came into her life and wasn't about to leave.
Sighing, she remained quite stubborn, figuring Alehkar would just give up and finally take care of himself rather than her.

”So you’ve decided on pouting at me? Ignoring me?” He sighed in frustration before grumbling something under his breath. He shook his head before turning and breaking apart some bread with his hands. Taking a large bite of it before going back to the door frame. Leaning against the door frame as he watched at her small figure. Why did she have to be so stubborn and dead set on killing herself. Couldn’t she just understand that she did matter. Obviously not.
“Stop being a baby. Come inside. You will freeze outside..” Brows narrowed as he stared at her sitting frame, growling under his breath before turning and leaving her. Taking off his shirt which was soaked from the moisture in the air and rummaging through a pile of what looked like more clothing. Slipping another over his frame before coming back. “Asher.. Please..I’d say I’m sorry if I meant it, but I wouldn’t and I cannot tell a lie. “What was he supposed to do? Just stand there and watch her freeze.

Asher merely turned away from him even more, drawing her legs up under her. She was technically a baby compared to him, a child. She was so young compared to others that she met. She crossed her arms over her chest, not caring if she was pissing him off. If he wanted her inside, then he would do something about it.
She was tiny and weighed practically nothing anyways, so it wasn't that big of a deal for people to pick her up and do anything about it. "I am a baby compared to you," she shot back, not turning around to face him. "So just let it alone," she said, staring down. Of course they were somewhere she could not get down easily, it was his version of kidnapping her, probably an attempt to keep her 'safe'.

Alehkar rolled his eyes at her before lifting her up in his arms and carrying her as he had been previously when flying. “You are quite ridiculous. You wont even look at me?” He was mumbling as he put her on a couch in a separate room, having previously kicked shut the door. Shaking his head to himself as he grabbed a blanket and tossed it around her shoulders, and another one over her lap. “Stay warm.” He muttered it under his breath as he tossed some wood into the fireplace, using matches to get it going as he shoved some paper in it. He stood up from his crouched position and glanced at her, a frown toying on his lips. “ Please don’t hate me Asher…”

Asher glared at him after he picked her up, a tiny gasp having escaped from her lips. Undoubtedly he would be getting his way whether or not she fought him. After all, there wasn't anywhere else she could really go, unless she felt like being suicidal and jumping.
"I just piss you off, so why even bother? You'd undoubtedly be a lot happier if I wasn't around to piss you off as much as I do. Or do you derive some sort of pleasure from it all?" she asked, watching him. She was in a mood to fight and it showed, she had a knack for making people angry when she wanted to fight and she hadn't had anyone walk away from her when she wanted to fight.
She didn't hate him, she was just completely confused by him and his actions, what he wanted from her, why he was still around. Everything seemed to confused her at the moment about him and she wanted to figure it out, why he bothered with her at all. There had to be some reason and she wanted to know.

He was shaking his head at her words, standing there with his hands crossed over his chest as he looked down at her. Biting his lip as he took in her words, knowing she wanted to fight. He shook his head again and left the room as she finished speaking. Turning his back on her and moving into the kitchen to grab some bread and slab some meat on it. Taking a bite out of his sandwhich before tossing it onto the counter. A gross look crossing his face. Apparently leaving meat on his counter for months was bad for it. He scrunched his nose up before walking into the area Asher was in.
Pacing a bit before sitting on the couch next to her. Why was he still with her, still trying to protect her. He frowned at his thoughts before shrugging as if he had given up and looked at her. Eyes studying her face intricately, the way her hair fell over her face, the pout that was on her lips. The way her eyes burned with anger and how her cheeks flushed with the same emotion. Alehkar leaned over and pressed his lips against hers rather abruptly, before pulling back slightly. “Because you are the only one that can get me so angry, and i always still want to make you feel better. I don’t know.. I like hanging out with you, and I hate when your angry or hurt, Your eyes go so dull.. But I love when your smiling..That real smile where it actually reaches your eyes. Which is rare. You hole yourself away. It would suck to go without seeing you smile.. and i don't like the idea of people hurting you. I don’t know. Apparently I’m just stupid and crazy.” He shrugged his shoulders and leaned back opposite her, biting his lip and lowering his gaze. He felt rather confused and lost in his own thoughts, chewing his lip in worry

It startled her, enough that she lost the edge of anger as it receeded from her face. The kiss was the first thing that stopped the tide of her anger and as she listened to him, she realized she couldn't stay mad at him for getting involved when it was his nature.
She sighed and dropped her head in her hands, covering her face as she shook her head, her hair spilling around to hide her emotions. "You make absolutely no sense, whatsoever," she muttered, not really having a proper response. With the sudden receding of her anger, she seemed tired and worn out, as if she'd truly rather be at home than doing whatever it was she did.
Those emotions flitted across her face for a moment, if you blinked you would have missed them. She finally just shrugged, composing herself as she dropped her hands and just stared at the fire, growing a bit warmer. Her lip started to hurt, now that she was out of the cold, but she ignored it, not going to complain about it at all. She checked the reflex of wanting to touch it, instead shoving her hand through her hair which just caused it to fall back down around her shoulders.

Alehkar frowned, as he realized her lip was slightly swollen. He reached a hand out to touch it, but thought better and dropped his hand. Biting his lower lip as he shrugged and stared down at the ground. “I know I make no sense. I’m sorry Asher..” The Daemon shifted uncomfortably in the spot he sat at. Shifting his wings behind his back for comfort before staring around the room. What was he going to do? He cared for someone who didn’t even care for themselves enough to stay out of danger. Someone who seemed to thrive on the danger. The ability to get in trouble was too strong, and she seemed to not be sick of it at all.
“Well… I’ve seen your home. Welcome to mine.” He shifted again in his spot, not looking at her but keeping his eyes anywhere but. No one had been in his home for decades, and it felt very odd to have someone sitting on the couch they were on. Hell, it felt weird to say’ welcome to mine’ to her. It actually made him a bit nervous for some reason, but he pushed the thought away before raising his eyes to look at her.

Asher sighed, lifting her eyes to dart around the room as he apologized before shaking her head. "Don't apologize for your nature," she said softly, words that she had a feeling she'd be saying often if the daemon stuck around, especially after that little spat. She had a horrible temper when it was provoked.
He never asked her directly what she was thinking or if she were sick of things, leaving questions open to interpretation. She'd answer direct questions without lying but it may take a moment to collect her thoughts. She looked over at him, a soft smile on her lips as she shook her head, shifting so that she was facing him before reaching out a hand to smooth his wayward hair with a silent laugh.
"It's different," she said, violet eyes going to actually take in the details around them as she arched an eyebrow, removing her hand and seeming to fold back into herself. "I'm assuming you nor anyone else has been here for a long time."

Alehkar offered a slight smile at her touch and her words, but a frown replaced it as she commented on his house. Eyes looking around slightly awkwardly. Glancing up on the ceiling that still had smoke and flame burns on it, and around where the only furniture that was in the room was a couch and then of course a place for a fire if need be. Like right then. The rest of the place was basically the same, no furniture, no cleaning, only a couch and the floor. “I come here.. But very rarely.. I do not like it here all that much..” His voice was quiet, barely above a whisper.
He shrugged his shoulders, shaking his head to clear it before glancing towards Asher with a barely visible smile on his lips. “It’s in Abourno, so you know where you are. You can leave if you want too. I did not mean to kidnap you..I’m sorry.” The last part was hardly audible as he knew she would not want him apologizing. “If you want to go to sleep I can leave you alone too.. I mean. I do have a bed.. You can sleep in. Just let me know, and I’ll get it ready..Or you can sleep on the couch..I don’t know..” He was rambling and he abruptly stopped before shrugging.
