Azazealyn sighed, meditating in her room as she rested, gathering strength. She had accompanied Amaji to the surface this time, and for now they were in Temarra. She was comfortable on the surface, hardly letting things phase her and living up to her title. Her hair was loose and she was dresses simply, nothing on her giving away her position in drow society.
So far, she had been merely treated as one of Amaji's students and she did not bother to correct it, letting Amaji decide if it was worth it or not and usually it was not unless some drunken sod in a tavern made a pass at her. Usually she would have just killed him, but for now she settled with breaking an arm or a hand.
Sighing, she pushed her thoughts away as she relaxed on the bed, running a hand through her hair.

The door opened, and Amaji slipped into the room. He had not been back to see Azazealyn the night before, but he hoped she would not request a reason for that. The mixed elf appeared to be a bit tired. His hair was a bit messy. The clothes he wore were the same from the day before. The Black Maji sent a slight smile to the drow high priestess as he walked over and sat down in one of the chairs beside the fireplace.
“Hey,” he said to her with a nod before looking into the fire that was burning in the fireplace now.

Azazealyn arched an eyebrow as she opened her eyes, lavender eyes taking in his form before a slow smile spread across her lips. One look was all she needed and she knew exactly where he had been and what he had been up to. But that would be saved for later.
"Hello to yourself," she said. "Bath water is ready, and there is food as well, Ama," she said. "Seeing as you decided to expand your horizons last night," Azazealyn teased, unable to keep at least from doing that. Hopefully he would turn pink and slightly embarrassed, that was always worth it to the high priestess, even if he got her back eventually.

Amaji tried his best to ignore the drow’s last comment. It almost wasn’t worth fighting it at the moment. That bath, however, did sound inviting. So, the wizard stood up from where he had sat and made his way off to the bath. He ignored the faint redness that took hold of his cheeks as he made his way passed Azazealyn.
The mixed elf went in and quickly cleaned himself in the bath. He soon was done and getting out. He never seemed to take that long to get cleaned up and dressed. The wizard did not like taking much time to “pretty” himself.
Amaji came back out, stretching his arms.

Azazealyn chuckled, shaking her head as she pulled her hair over one shoulder to put it in a braid. She knew how irritable the Black Maji could be, but she also knew when to stop and she decided to let the subject drop for now. Reclining back on the bed, she summoned a small purple light to her hand and let it dart around the room, amusing her for the time being.
When Amaji emerged again, she dismissed it, looking back over to him with lavender eyes that took in his form. "So it seems you have found someone else. I believe at this point it is time for me to take my leave," she said conversationally, as if she were discussing the weather.

Amaji raised an eyebrow as he walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. “I’d rather not have you leave so soon,” he told her a bit confused on why the drow would have to leave. “I still want your company, Aza. I don’t know why you think you have to suddenly leave because I come home from being with someone…”
The wizard raised an eyebrow, observing her a bit closer. Was there something he was missing? Amaji really knew nothing about relationships and the like. He already was confused of what was expected of him.

Azazealyn chuckled, waving her hand as he observed her. "I thought I was supposed to stay with you until you found someone, Amaji," she said, watching him with a smile. The relationship they had was based on physical need, not so much emotional need, but that hadn't stopped them from growing close over the years.
"I'm not jealous or any of that. I've seen where it gets people and it is rarely ahead. Although I am admitting to being curious about which woman captured your eye," she said, grinning as she leaned forward and ran a hand through his damp hair.

The Black Maji looked away from Azazealyn for a moment, down to his hands. “She’s a gypsy,” Amaji said softly before glancing over at the high priestess once more. He flashed a brief smile. “A witch of sorts and very alluring. I think I was destined to run into her. Everything seemed to be perfectly put together.”
The mixed elf was rather happy as it would be. The fortune teller had made his night rather spectacular, and it wasn’t just because of him bedding her. She had brought out emotions he did not think he could have toward anyone of the surface or really anyone in all of Yviex.

Azazealyn nodded, watching him with calm eyes as she took in his demeanor. She could tell he was happy about this and knew that his time with the drow would be coming to an end soon, despite whatever plans he may have had. Shifting slightly she her hand rubbed his back in a soothing manner.
"You're happy with her, Ama," she said gently, smiling at him. "And I'm glad you're happy. Perhaps this is indeed the way things should be," she said. "I think you would be better, staying here with her rather than staying with the drow."
Azazealyn spoke the truth, knowing how much it would bother him, but it had to be said.

Amaji shook his head at once, frowning at the suggestion. He did not want to leave the Underdark for good. He loved the drow city. He loved going there. He loved seeing the people who he could not help but claim as his own. He felt as though nothing could force him to stay away from the drows. He didn’t know how he could simply live up on the surface.
“I couldn’t leave all of you,” he told Azazealyn. “I could never leave you or Talex or any of them. You know that, Azazealyn. I don’t understand why you keep suggesting such things.”

"If it is love, Ama, then it cannot be brought down there, you know this. She would not survive, gypsy or no, and if you do love her, then there are sacrifices that must be made," Azazealyn said gently as she moved to look at him, pushing his hair out of his face with a gentle hand.
"I have seen others leave and attempt to come back and the conflict divides them until they go crazy. Talex is old, he understands this. I understand this as well, Ama, we don't want to see it happen to you. Unfortunately, until it is decided if the drow wish to make peace with the surface, that is the way things are, like it or not," she said softly, her voice soothing.

“Then, I will be the one to change that,” Amaji said, looking to the high priestess. “I want to be of the Underdark. I want to bring what is in the darkness up to the surface as well. If I stay with this gypsy, she will have to understand that like I must understand her trade.”
The mixed elf let out a sigh, looking away from Azazealyn. If his plans for dominating the world above the surface prevail, Amaji believed he could deal with the drows and his knew found interest at the same time. He would not allow himself to be pushed out of the drow society for any reason at all.

Azazealyn sighed, shaking her head before moving back to give him his space. He would figure it out on his own or not, but dealing with him much of the time was like dealing with a child; his emotions were not always regulated and that could be a source of trouble.
Deciding to switch the topic, she shifted as she reclined back onto the bed, watching him with guarded lavender eyes. "Have you been keeping up with your training?" she asked, referring to his acceptance of his memories. She knew that answer was probably 'no', but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

“I have,” Amaji said quickly as he looked at Azazealyn with accusing eyes. He knew exactly what she was thinking. They had known each other long enough to know little reasons behind the words. “I have been able to accept some of them enough to feel able to share them with others. I have even been showing off my scars a bit more…”
The mixed elf looked away from the drow, a bit annoyed with her sighs and her assumptions about him. He was starting to feel as though she gave him very little credit.

"Good," was all she said before she arched her eyebrow, reading his expressions rather well. "Don't think that I don't give you credit, but in the past if you didn't want to do something, you wouldn't do it. Like when Talex told you to copy the spell book and you had one of the others do it for you," she said, a small grin working its way over her lips.
"I know you, Ama, and I'm glad that you've come so far. Talex is as well, even though he may not directly acknowledge it, much like a parent doesn't like to acknowledge when they cannot teach their children anymore and must learn from them," she said, leaning over and placing a gentle hand on his arm.

“I want this, though,” Amaji said, wrinkling his nose slightly. “You know I want this, too. You know I want to be able to control my emotions, my thoughts, my dreams. I tire of constantly fighting all of this. I want to have power over myself.”
The wizard let out a sigh, looking down at his hands. “I want to be happy with everything. I want to be able to live with comfort. I will not be able to until all that I have put upon my plate is finished. I want the surface world vanquished. I want this love. I want control.”

Azazealyn sighed, moving so she was standing in front of him and took his hands, entwining his lighter fingers with her darker ones. "Then do not bite off more than you can chew, Aza," she cautioned, fulfilling her role. The air seemed to shimmer around her, as if Lloth herself were speaking through the high priestess.
"You must be patient and only take on one or two things at a time. All want power, all want control, yet few have it or know what to do with it once they get it," she said, her voice taking on a certain rhythm that was not Azazealyn's, rather Lloth's. It rarely happened unless Lloth was serious about something and coming through the high priestess to speak with Amaji was about as serious as Lloth could get without appearing herself.
"Be careful, pet wizard, or you will find yourself with nothing but your memories," she cautioned, finally leaving the high priestess. Azazealyn blinked, swaying slightly on her feet, feeling faint but would never acknowledge it aloud, despite the obvious.

The Black Maji let out a sigh. He knew, of course, that the goddess Lloth was always right and accurate in her words. He knew he had to listen to her, especially if she took the time to talk to him through Azazealyn. Amaji knew he had to be careful with his actions or he would in fact lose it all. He also knew how much rested on his plans.
The drow had waited too long for this attack upon the surface. They had lived in the darkness for too long under injustice. He would bring them up to this world and conquer it in good time. He had to get the forces up, though. He would not just risk the dark elves. He would make alliances that would be able to support him and the drows. He would not fail this.
“How do I prioritize such things?” he asked aloud. “Everything I want is important to me in different ways. How can I say that one is better than another?”

Azazealyn shook her head, holding up a hand to tell him to give her a minute while she sank gracefully to the floor feeling more weak than she had thought. Lloth must have had some strong emotions and thoughts coursing through her at the moment to have spoken to Amaji.
When she regained her voice, it was soft and she kept her eyes closed as she leaned back against the bed from her position on the floor. "What needs to be done now and what can wait, Ama?" she asked, helping him. "Is your gypsy going to be able to come with you or will she be of her own? What is is that you know will take the longest to complete?"

“That does not help, Azazealyn,” Amaji said, running a hand through his still damp hair. “Lloth has given me advice that I can’t even really act on.” He let out a sigh, running his hand gently through the drow’s hair. He knew that she was tired now that the goddess had used her body to communicate with him.
“Everything I want will take so much time to achieve. I don’t know what can wait. I don’t know what should wait. I’m just… I’m lost really. I know that she is trying to guide me. I know that for her to talk through you to me is very important, but I don’t know where to start…”
