Cait skipped along, paying no mind to where she was going, following the trails and wherever her feet took her. She wasn't scared of really anything in the forest, well except for raccoons, but that was another story.
She pushed some blonde hair out of her violet eyes and ducked under a branch, careful not to get her hair tangled or her dress caught, instead stepping delicately over a root and turning to find a small clearing. She clapped in delight, holding her beloved stuffed rabbit by one ear as she scurried around the edges, making sure no one was around, especially those nasty priests, before making her way into the field of flowers.
The small girl rather looked like she belonged there, she was the beauty that often appeared and disappeared, never to be seen again. Caitlyin laughed, settling her rabbit on her lap as she began telling him a story, her words unintelligible but the musical and sweet tone of her voice carrying on into the woods.
Her tiny fingers, however were weaving flower garlands for herself and Bun Bun, making a small crown for him that would soon be lost. She pursed cherry red lips as she finished off the crown, smiling happily as she placed it on his head. Giggling, she looked up at the sky, seeing she still had daylight, she began playing again, weaving another crown to keep her hair out of the way.
Caitlying had an eternal beauty that would not be lost with age, nor would she ever appear ugly to any being, despite how young she was. She seemed perfectly made, every feature of her being flawless, from pale blonde hair to perfect lips to her flawless skin, she had the grace of a dancer in her body and moved as such often. It was her beauty that also got her in trouble, but in the forest she was almost never bothered.

The soulstealer had been watching the beauty for some time. He had seen a glimpse of her on his wandering through the forest, and he had to stop and stare before she had disappeared once again. Tyebolt, however, had been willing to follow after the girl, and he did at a pace that would be unnoticeable to her.
Now, the soulstealer stood against a tree, watching the girl in the meadow. She was absolutely breath taking. She has such grace and elegance, yet she seemed not to even notice this at all. The beauty simply a work of art. She had been painted to perfection.
Tyebolt was rather curious of this girl, and he could not help himself. She had the soul of someone very young and joyful. Little things made her happy. That stuffed animal that she carried around made her happy. The flowers made her happy. She loved nature perhaps more than the little plants she was so fond of.
The soulstealer wanted to approach her, but he would be careful. When he went to her, he wanted to make sure she would not feel threatened. Slowly, Tyebolt moved away from the tree and made his way out to where the beauty sat.
“Good day, milady,” he called out, his voice very kind and gentle.

Caitlyin started, her eyes snapping up and taking in the person in front of her. Her hands stilled, everything about her stilled, as if she were a dryad that were about to change into a tree, frozen in the moment before she spoke.
Her eyes were the only thing that ever changed, as she fixed him with an unwavering stare, as if she were measuring him. Who he was, what he was, as if she could see every detail of his soul with one look. Her gaze held weight beyond her sixteen years of life, but in those sixteen years, she had seen much and heard of much more than any girl her age should have.
A breeze stirred blonde hair into her eyes and yet she did not move to brush it away, taking her time before she seemed to warm up again and fixing the stranger with a brilliant smile. "Good day to you too," she said before she dropped her gaze again and her hands went back to their work.

Tyebolt smiled a bit as she responded. He had startled her; he could tell. He did not want to frighten her at all, so his movements became a bit slower as he made his way to the girl. Young as she was, she was cautious and seemed to understand the workings of men. The soulstealer did not have a doubt in his mind that the second he made a wrong move, the girl would get up and run.
“I do not mean to disturb you,” Tyebolt told her gently as he soon came to stand a few feet away from the girl. “I could not help but notice the cute little bunny you carry around with you. What may his name be?”
The soulstealer gave her another smile as he knelt down a bit to be on a closer level with the girl.

Caitlyin instinctively fixed him with a fierce glare, candy red lips setting into a firm line as delicate hands clutched the rabbit to her protectively. It was almost a sure guarantee to set her off if someone so much as mentioned her rabbit or tried to take it from her without her offering. She seemed to give him a defiant look, as if she were daring him to do something else that would send her either into tears or make her scream.
After a moment, when she decided that he was going to not steal her rabbit, she placed Bun Bun carefully to the other side, away from him. Best not to take chances, no? before she answered him. "Bun Bun," she said simply as she watched him, a pale eyebrow arched as she took in his appearance but did not utter a single comment, as curious as she may have been. It was better to not ask questions unless big brother was present and he was not.

Well, that had been interesting. The girl was quite protective over her stuffed bunny. Tyebolt had no need for such a toy, but he made a note not to try and take her rabbit from her. He would not question her on her behavior. The soulstealer simply smiled.
“Do not worry, I am not going to take your cute little bunny. He is all yours. It would not be right of me to even dare to touch it without you allowing me, too. But you have given him a cute name.”
Tyebolt gave another smile. “Your bunny does, however, remind me of a little bunny that I came across within the woods. Would you like to see the little rabbit? He is small enough to fit within your hands.”

She was instantly suspicious again and edged away from him ever so slightly, her eyes narrowing. She may have been young and child like but she had often had others try to lure her away from big brother with similar ploys. "No," she said, shaking her head firmly. "Big brother would not approve. And he doesn't like strangers," she said, bringing her hand up to her candy red lips as she giggled, like she was hiding a secret.
Caitlyin was not naieve nor was she innocent, preferring to merely enjoy life as best she could with big brother, despite those pesky priests. And she was now becoming more and more suspicious of this man in front of her. She knew he wasn't a priest nor human, but she couldn't help but wonder if he was working with them.

Tyebolt gave an apologetic smile and a nod of his head. “I apologize. I am a stranger to you, as it would be. You have no reason to trust me as of now, so I would expect you not to want to follow me into the trees.”
The soulstealer thought for a moment, running a hand through his hair. “How about I bring the bunny to you? You can stay here in the flowers with Bun Bun. If you feel threatened when I come back, you can feel free to leave, but I mean no threat to you.”
Tyebolt stood up, sending another smile to the girl before making his way back into the trees. He made his way through the woods and back to where the bunny had been.

Caitlyin merely nodded, going back to her playings as soon as he stood up and stepped away from her. Most thoughts of him were gone now and she wove a rather pretty basket out of the grass in the clearing, a wide but fairly deep bowl that she soon began to make into a bit of a nest, for no reason that she could think of.
She began singing a little song, a nursery rhyme that she remembered from her past, albeit faintly, but her voice carried and reminded many of long forgotten beauty in the world, a time when things were simple and people still loved each other and there was no hate.
The song seemed to dance over her lips and enhance her appearance as she played with Bun Bun, having him dance upon her lap, only moving so much so she could shift and get comfortable once again as she wove a ring of flowers into the basket to make it look pretty.

After a few moment, Tyebolt came back into the clearing, wandering over the beauty. Within his hands he held a small white bunny. It was still very young and was curled up in the soulstealer’s hands.
“Here we are,” he said gently as he sat down in front of the girl. He held his hands out to her, slowly opening them up a bit to show her the bunny. “I was being truthful to you,” he told her as his eyes watched the little rabbit in his hands.
The rabbit looked around before looking up at the girl who sat before him. “I think his parents are no more,” Tyebolt told her. “He appears to have been left out here on his own for a couple of days. Surprisingly none of the other creatures of the woods have found him.”

Caitlyin tilted her head, inching closer as one hand held her rabbit and the other reached a tentative finger out so she could pet the soft fur of the tiny rabbit. The baby bunny shuddered under her touch but nosed his way closer to her as she pet him.
A small smile worked its way onto her lips as it grew with childish glee at the tiny bunny who seemed to like her. As quickly as it had grown, it fell at the soulstealer's words. "Just like me," she murmured, a small allusion to a past she either couldn't or didn't care to remember.

Tyebolt’s eyes flashed up to look at the girl. He chewed his bottom lip for a moment. “Care to hold him?” the soulstealer asked, sending a gentle smile. “I think he likes your touch quite a bit. I am sure he will not fuss or frighten if you hold him for a bit. He seems to like you.”
The soulstealer moved his hands forward slowly so the girl could take the rabbit if she pleased. The girl seemed to enjoy the little bunny, which made Tyebolt smile inwardly. He was trying to get this beauty to warm up a little bit to his presence.

Caitlyin nodded and moved her hands under his, her tiny hands barely brushing his larger ones as she accepted the rabbit, cradling the baby to her as she stroked his fur tenderly, Bun Bun placed securely to her side where she could keep an eye on him. To her, Bun Bun was real and had a tendency to wander off on adventures if she were not careful, but around babies he was always careful and would stay with Caitlyin.
She barely breathed as she brought the rabbit up to her face to examine him with a critical eye, taking in if he was healthy or not. A frown made its way across her features as she looked at the baby rabbit, able to tell he needed to eat instantly now she was holding it. The frown seemed to mar her face and would stay there, a mark of concern over the rabbit as she placed the baby rabbit delicately in her lap and ran her hands through the grass around her, looking for dandelion leaves.

The soulstealer watched the human’s movements carefully, picking up on what she was doing now. His hand move through the grass, finding and plucking some leaves that were nearby. He held his hand out to her, handing the leave to her.
“Is there anything else that the little rabbit might need?” Tyebolt asked her, allowing her to make decisions over what to do with the bunny in her lap. The girl was still a rather curious creature that he was trying to understand. He did not even know her name yet, but he hoped to ask her when she seemed a bit more comfortable. Or he would just wait until she introduced herself.

Caitlyin accepted the leaves, her fingers barely brushing over his as she shook her head in response, coaxing the rabbit to eat. The baby did, hungrily, and the childish glee returned to her in the smile that spread over her lips, giving her a perfect touch.
She gently stroked fingers down the baby rabbit's back, delicate fingertips feeling and dancing along the spine, playing doctor and making sure nothing else was broken, which it seemed not to be. She chewed on her lower lip for a second, an enticing gesture that had often gotten her into trouble in big cities, before she released it and scooped up the basket she had made.
She dumped out the flowers she had gathered in there and lay down some fresh grass instead as well as a few leaves and lay the bunny inside it, watching with a happy smile as the rabbit seemed to curl up, safe and content in its new home.

Tyebolt smiled a bit as he watched the girl. She seemed to be a very caring creature from the looks of it. He watched as she took care of the little bunny with tender touches. She seemed to be so surreal to the soulstealer. Where did such beauty come from? Where did such caring innocent, caring nature come from?
“I think the little bunny needs a name,” he said to her, his eyes shifting to the little white rabbit. “Would you like to name him? You seem to be able to choose quite good names for bunnies.”

She shifted for a moment, chewing her lip again as she thought before a smile broke out over her lips again and she giggled, gathering Bun Bun in her lap. "Kel," she said happily, as she made Bun Bun clap. Yes, Kel was the name of her big brother and it would undoubtedly make him roll his eyes in annoyance once he found out she named a baby rabbit after him.
She giggled again, a delicate finger reaching forward and gently stroking the sleeping rabbit once more before sitting back. "Although I think big brother chose my name. Or my parents did. I don't really know," she mused, more to herself than to the soulstealer. "Names are such complex things."

The soulstealer smiled. “Well, I think naming the little bunny Kel is a good idea. If Kel is your big brother, then it will give importance to the little rabbit there.”
Tyebolt ran a hand through his hair, watching the movements of the girl. “I am Tyebolt, by the way. If I may ever so ask without being rude, what is your name?” He hoped that she would be willing enough to tell him her name. The soulstealer had only become more curious about the girl as they continued to sit there together.

"Tye," she said simply, fixing him with a look that told him that was how she was going to address him from now on. The name seemed to roll off her tongue and over her lips, much the way a smooth stream bubbles along its course, as if it belonged there.
"Caitlyin," she said with a simple shrug, never really caring if anyone called her any variation of her name. Violet eyes dropped back to her lap as she continued to play with her stuffed rabbit, feeling a bit shy at the moment, now that she knew his name, almost as if another level of intimacy had been reached between them.
It was gone just as quickly as she gathered up the previously discarded flowers and began weaving a crown together again, this one obviously much bigger than the one that had been adorning Bun Bun.

Tyebolt smiled at the newly acquired nickname that Caitlyin had given him. Caitlyin. That was a name he would not soon forget. His eyes took in her new movements with a bit of intrigue.
“Are you going to take the little bunny Kel with you when you leave?” the soulstealer asked her. “I am sure he would love to go with you since he has no family and nowhere to go, but if you cannot take him, I would be more than willing to look over the little rabbit. He needs a home as it would be.”
