Written word on parchment. The afternoon was slowly becoming evening. Abourno was darkening rather quickly. The day had been a rather peaceful one for once. Celestine had locked himself away in the room that he was staying in, despite some protest from Aurora. He wanted to work on his writing and reading alone.
The half breed had become rather talented with his reading. His writing was slowly getting better though. He seemed to struggle a bit with the letters. He was learning still, and he was grateful for Aurora teaching him.
Celestine had been writing alone for once. He usually wrote whenever Aurora was around him to ask for help with some words and letters. He wanted desperately to get all of the letters down on his own so it would be at least readable.
The mute glanced out of his open window. He wasn’t sure where the angelic was at the moment. He assumed somewhere in the house, but even he could not be certain. Celestine let out a sigh as his stomach rumbled a bit, begging to be fed.

Aurora rolled her eyes, watching as Chance shifted into a tiger, deciding that the angelic needed to train more instead of just teaching. He swiped out with a paw that had Aurora flipping back a step before lashing out with a foot, catching Chance on the underside of his jaw. The animal shifter let out a roar, one that was certainly heard back in the house before he sprung after Aurora.
She countered with sliding under him on the stone floor and flipping up to land on his back, her arms locking around his furry neck to show that she had won. "Let's go get food," she said, laughing a bit breathlessly as Chance nodded his agreement, going back to the house with Aurora riding him like a horse.
She laughed, patting his head and sliding off once they reached the house. She was a bit sweaty and covered in dirt and a few bruises but in a good mood. She managed to get some of the dirt off her hands but didn't bother with any of the smears on her face as she went ahead and began preparing an actual supper, letting the smells of whatever she was cooking drift through the house.

Written word on parchment. Celestine heard Aurora and Chance enter the house once more. The half breed rolled his neck a bit, enjoying how it felt to release the tension there. He stood up away from the table where he had been writing. He thought for a long moment before quickly shuffling all of the parchment into a pile and putting a book on top of it all as if to hide what he had written. Once he was pleased with the placement of his materials, he left the room and made his way down to the kitchen.
The mute could smell that the angelic was cooking something, and his stomach gave another moan. He smiled a bit as he entered the kitchen and sat down at the table, watching Aurora cook.

Aurora tilted her head to the side as he entered the kitchen. "So glad to see you actually can smile," she muttered sarcastically as Chance changed into a chipmunk, scurrying up Celestine's leg to get onto the table.
Aurora sent a scowl to the animal shifter who promptly chittered right back at her and she seemed to get into an argument with Chance, finally huffing and turning back to her cooking, much to the amusement of the apparently victorious chipmunk.
When the food was finished, she put it on the table before sliding into place and letting Chance eat off her plate, his tiny paws taking whatever he could hold and sitting there, eating it as his tiny tail wagged, happy with life.

Written word on parchment. The half breed ate happily. He stomach was rather pleased now that there was food in it. Celestine smiled a bit more it seemed when he was around Aurora. He could not explain why really. She just brought out a happiness in him that was quite different than the one that Cecilia gave him. Aurora just had an ability to make him laugh.
Celestine finished off his plate rather quickly before getting up and putting his dish away. He leaned against the counter, his eyes shifting over to the angelic.

Aurora contented herself by flicking a piece of food at Chance, snickering when it caught him and he went tumbling across the top of the table, only to have the food thrown right back at her. She scowled as she looked back at Chance, shaking her head before sticking her tongue out.
Leaning back in her chair, she took her braid out, turning to look at Celestine. "What, do I have another head sprouting out or something?" she asked with a teasing smile as she got up as well, taking care of her dishes. "Or are you really on Chance's side?" she asked, eyeing him in the perpetual 'war' that always seemed to be going on between the angelic and the animal shifter.
Aurora laughed lightly as she passed Celestine, running her fingers through his hair, before going into the living room and snagging a book to read through.

Written word on parchment. Celestine followed Aurora into the living room. He glanced around for a moment, chewing his bottom lip. His eyes fell back onto the angelic as she grabbed a book and settled down. He was still a bit envious of how easily she could read those books. He knew that he had to continue with his learning before he would have a chance to be able to read some of the bigger books.
The mute walked over and watched Aurora for a long moment. He smiled a bit before reaching forward and touching a dirt smudge on her cheek. She really did need a bath as it would be. He could easily tell that she had been training.

Aurora started for a moment, looking back up at him after he'd touched her cheek. Huh, that was a new one, she mused. "Yeah, I know. I need a bath," she said as she wrinkled her nose, observing his expressions and interpreting them with a keen eye. "I'll get one later, mom," she said, teasing him.
Closing the book and keeping the place with a finger, she smiled at the taller halfbreed, sticking her tongue out for a moment. "You'll get to where I am eventually at the rate you're going," she said with a laugh as she leaned up and kissed his cheek.

Written word on parchment. The half breed gave a slight laugh. He smiled after she kissed his cheek, shaking his head slightly as he observed her. He ran a hand through her hair before ruffling her hair with a slight laugh. Celestine quickly stepped away from her, making sure she didn’t have a chance to return the favor.
He quickly went up the stairs and back into his room. He closed the door behind him, going back to the table where he had his writing utensils and books on. He pulled out a few pieces of parchment and some of the ones he had been writing on before.

Aurora rolled her eyes as she pouted, finally shrugging before tucking her feet under her in the chair and propping the book on her legs, her hair falling to frame her face as she read, lips moving in silence as she mouthed the words that she was reading.
She had learned early on to let the halfbreed do as he wanted to, respecting his privacy unless it was an emergency. Well, none of those had popped up thankfully, and she intended to keep it that way as best she could. Aurora decided that she'd get a bath later, or when Chance yelled at her for dirtying the chair again.
Hey, it wasn't like she really ever had guests over anyways.

Written word on parchment. After a little while of writing, Celestine stopped, seeming to be pleased with whatever he had written on the parchment in front of him. He blew on it for a moment, drying the ink before folding the parchment neatly. He stood up from the table and looked out of the door, glancing around for a moment.
Celestine was trying to see if Aurora was around or if she was still downstairs in the living room. He had intentions of putting this little piece of parchment somewhere that she would find it and read it alone.

The angelic was still downstairs for the moment, finishing up where she was in her book before she went to take a bath down here, figuring that Celestine would use the one upstairs. Chance was running figure eights around the chair legs, in his ferret form as he waited for Aurora to finish.
Closing the book, she stretched and smiled lightly as she watched Chance run before shaking her head. "Alright you," she said with a laugh as she caught him and cuddled him next to her. "Bath time," she laughed, rubbing her cheek on his fur and purposely getting the animal shifter dirty before standing and heading into the downstairs bath.
She was in there for long enough to get clean and to clean Chance as well, scrubbing him and dunking him, laughing when he turned into a frog so he could play around a little bit. Shaking her head, she stepped out of the bath and snagged a towel, drying herself off and rubbing at her hair so it was damp before letting it stay down.
Rubbing at Chance with a towel as well, she smiled and kissed his ferret nose before setting him down and letting him go run around through the house while she put on a spare set of clean clothes that she kept downstairs before deciding to head upstairs and turn in for the night.

Written word on parchment. Celestine had already entered and left Aurora’s room. He made sure he was quick, knowing that she could figure out that he had been there. He had left the folded up piece of parchment in her room on top of her pillow where he knew she’d find it.
The half breed was now in his room, taking off his boots. He took off his shirt as well and then his pants before slipping into bed. He tried to make himself as comfortable as possible when he slept. Plus, he wasn’t worried about Aurora coming in and seeing him naked.

Aurora sighed and shook her head lightly as she went up the stairs, Chance scurrying around her ankles before darting off down the hall, seeming to work his way into Celestine's room for the night, curling up at the foot of the halfbreed's bed.
Aurora chuckled, shaking her head at the animal shifter. "Traitor," she called softly, knowing that Chance heard her. "Night Celestine," she said before going into her own room.
The angelic noticed the piece of parchment sitting on her pillow at once, a curious expression flitting across her features before she moved over and picked it up with delicate fingers, examining it before she sat on her bed to read it.

Written word on parchment. Celestine smiled a bit, seeing Chance at the foot of his bed. He settled down against his pillows, curling beneath his covers. The half breed let out a content sigh. He knew that Aurora had already seen his message to her, and his stomach turned slightly at the thought of what she would think after reading it.
There were only a handful of words that Celestine really wanted to learn. There was one particular phrase, though, that he wanted to get down. One phrase that he had always wanted to just say out loud was ‘I love you’. So, he had spent his day, trying to figure out how to get the words exactly right.
What was written on the parchment was very simple. It said, ‘I love you, Aurora’, in very crude handwriting. Celestine was really happy to get the words looking right enough.

Aurora's hand went up to her mouth, she was a bit surprised at what he had written and instinctively knew that was what he'd locked himself away for. Eyes flickered back across the page, looking at the words there before she folded the parchment back up, placing it on the small table in her room.
She seemed to pace silently, half wondering what to do and if she would go see Celestine. She ran a hand through her hair before sitting down on her bed in the dark, deciding she'd just have to say something in the morning.
Plus she didn't think that he'd appreciated her coming out while he was trying to get to sleep. Curling under her blankets, she smiled and settled down, rather happy with the way things were going right now.
It was morning when she woke up again, sitting up and stretching, deciding that she wanted to be lazy today when her eyes fell on the parchment and she smiled, a happy smile. Sliding out of bed, she threw on some of the training clothes she had, the shirt rather short and exposing a lot of her stomach.
Running a hand through her hair to relieve it of the tangles, she left her room to go downstairs and make some breakfast, deciding just how to tell Celestine that she loved him as well.

Written word on parchment. Celestine had woken up quite early this morning, unable to stay in bed for too long. He had quite a bit of restless sleep, just waiting to see what Aurora would say to him now that she had read his note. He was praying that things wouldn’t get awkward between them now.
The half breed stood in the kitchen, his back to the doorway. He was taking a drink from a mug that was in his hands. His eyes were directed towards the window. He was rather quiet, standing there and thinking. He ran his hand through his hair, nervously.

Aurora smiled when she saw him, shaking her head in amusement before she entered the kitchen, pretending to be more asleep than she usually was, going about her business in a half zombie like state until Celestine would turn to face her and then she would strike.
She managed to get some food around and onto a plate and put the plate on the table before he turned around and that was when she leaned up and kissed the mute halfbreed on the lips, a soft kiss that let him know that she returned his sentiments completely. She ran her fingers through his hair before giving him a smile.

Written word on parchment. The half breed was rather surprised by Aurora kissing his lips. He had not expected it for one thing. He had never been kissed before on the lips, and the sensation was rather foreign to him. He enjoyed it, though, and didn’t want the angelic to move away from him when she did.
Celestine moved back down against her, his arms slipping around her. He gave her a kiss upon her lips this time, rather timidly. He was really unsure of what to do and what she would expect. His cheeks had redden a bit.

The angelic smiled lightly at the kiss, tilting her head just so to the side as she made their lips fit together perfectly and she applied a bit more pressure to it, showing Celestine it was okay. One of her hands slipped up to cradle the back of his neck, toying with the hair on the base of his neck while the other just rested on his shoulder.
She moved back slightly, giggling lightly at his blushing form before shaking her head and kissing him again, this time with a firm pressure. "You can stop turning all red now, Celestine," she said with a bright laugh as she rubbed her nose against his. "I love you too," she said softly.
