The ancient djinn was sprawled on the grass, shirtless and shoeless at the moment. It was a rather nice day here, he supposed, deciding that since he wasn't following the thief around nor had she summoned him, he would laze about. Crow was off somewhere, doing as he pleased since the djinn was in a rather lazy mood at the moment.
He stretched, tucking one arm under his head as he let dark eyes watch the clouds that went by. He liked watching the clouds, ever changing as they were, and throughout his long life he had never seen two that looked exactly the same, like snowflakes, he mused with a dry chuckle.
Morpheus didn't care what others thought about him, he would even talk to himself at times regardless of what others thought, but today even he was reluctant to shatter the peace that surrounded him in an odd day off where he was in a good mood and no one was trying to kill him or his master. He yawned and let his eyes drift shut.

A laugh could be heard on the plain. There was a yip from that seemed to come from a fox and then there was another laugh.
Ayvajin had came out to the plains for an unusual day of just enjoying herself. She had just been swimming in a nearby stream that ran along the edge the plains before drifting into the Zyabeth Forest.
The necromancer was now wet running with the ghoul of a fox who kept jumping up on her. She was wearing a light blue dress that went to above her knees. The fabric was clinging to her now as she tried to run barefoot with the fox. Her hair was also wet and sticking to the sides of her face.
Ayvajin was in a brilliant mood, and she could not help it. She was enjoying the bright, sunny day and loving it to the best of her abilities.
The ghoul came up to the necromancer once more, jumping on her. Ayvajin rambled off something in the Language of the Dead, and the fox moved away from her, chasing its tail for a moment. She gave another laugh, shaking her head.

Morpheus lifted his head up, eyes following the laughter before he shrugged, lazing back down and almost hidden by the grass except for one knee that was bent up. Crow circled down and landed on the raised knee, cawing once and having it echo off the plains. The djinn waved a hand, telling the bird to be quiet and silencing the echo with a distant thrum of magick.
"You really know how to ruin a day," he commented to the bird who just grinned at him and cawed even louder, as if he were drawing attention to the lazing djinn.

The fox ghoul spun about once more, letting Ayvajin laugh again. It seemed to get distracted suddenly and darted off forward. The necromancer raised a slight eyebrow before quickly going after the ghoul to see what it was after.
She called out to the creature, asking it what was wrong. The fox did not falter in its running. It glanced back once, but continued on. Ayvajin followed after the ghoul before finally seeing what the fox was after as it bounded over, aiming a pounce at a large crow.
“Stop that!” the necromancer called out to the ghoul using the Language of the Dead as she saw the crow and its owner fully now.

The bird turned to regard the fox, standing fully to its normal height and spreading its wings out, bearing a toothy grin at the fox. Crow was large by any means, looking rather like a large predatory bird. He let out a loud Caw, echoing off the planes before shaking his feathers and settling back down.
Morpheus sighed and sat up, arching an eyebrow at the woman in front of him, instantly pegging her as a necromancer before turning and giving the bird a blank look. Bird and djinn shrugged, as if to say there was nothing they could do about the peacefulness of the day being ruined.
"What brings you out here?" the djinn asked the necromancer in front of him.

Ayvajin made it over to them as the fox quickly ran over to her. It scampered up her dress in a quick movement and rested in her arms. The necromancer stroked the ghoul’s head gently. The fox soon was relaxed against her, eyes closing.
“I am sorry about that,” she said, not caring that the apology was probably useless. The fox did nothing to the bird. Of course, the two had disturbed the stranger and his crow.
“I came out here for some relaxation. A bit of swimming, too.” She glanced down at her wet clothing. “I am sorry for disturbing you, though. I certainly did not mean to.”

The djinn shrugged, dark eyes looking at the necromancer in some form of recognition, she looked vaguely like someone from his past. Then again, he mused as he looked back at the bird, shrugging again, a lot of people looked the same throughout the years. Although one thought kept bugging him like he should know her. Pushing it away the djinn focused on her again.
"It was too good a day for others to not be out enjoying it," he said with a casual shrug as he raised a hand to run it down the bird's feathers, silently communicating with the bird while he spoke with the necromancer.

Ayvajin smiled slightly and nodded her head. The necromancer looked down to the fox in her arms. She whispered into the creature’s ear for a moment before setting it down on the ground. The ghoul rubbed against her ankles lovingly for a moment before running off once more.
“I still apologize for the fox, though. He is very energetic and a bit hungry as well. I told him to go off and get some fish or just something. Poor ghoul.”
The necromancer paused, noting that she was really rambling on about nothing. “I am Ayvajin, by the way,” she said to the stranger.

The djinn shrugged not really caring what she was rambling on about, other creatures were rather interesting. "You can call me Jarlaxle," he said as he gave her one of his false names. It flowed smoothly from his lips and everyone believed that was his name. Well, any name he gave others believed it was his name, there were few that knew his true name.
"And do not apologize for it, it is their nature, curious as they may be. Although Crow here can fend for himself," he said as he and the bird shared a grin, the bird giving away a bit of fang.

Ayvajin smiled slightly with a slight nod. “Well, it is nice to meet both of you,” she said her eyes shifting from the man to the bird and then back. The necromancer ran a hand through her damp hair in thought. She did not want to disrupt these two anymore, but yet she felt as though she should sit down and stay for a while.
“Would you mind company or should I be on my way?” she asked as she looked back to Jarlaxle. It seemed the more she looked at him the more curious she became. There was something about him that reminded her of Lucien. It was how he was holding himself. He held himself how an ancient would.

"If you would like," he said as he reclined back in the grass, folding his arms behind his head as he lay there, relaxing in the sun. Crow tilted his head at the djinn before launching off into the sky, back out to hunt and find something edible.
The djinn merely arched an eyebrow at the bird, taking no notice of Crow's direction. The djinn was trying to puzzle out in his mind why the girl looked familiar while he spoke with her and why there was a sense of him knowing her was growing stronger with every minute.

Ayvajin sat down in the grass, minding her damp dress as she did. She crossed her legs at her ankles before sitting back a bit, propping herself up with her hands. She really did enjoy how beautiful the day was on the plains. She enjoyed the sun that came shining down upon her, and how it felt when it touched her skin.
“Do you travel a lot?” the necromancer questioned Jarlaxle. “I have never seen you around here before, and I tend to know most of the people who live on the plains or around them or in one of the cities.”
Her eyes observed this stranger closely, trying desperately to figure him out. She could detect a hint of power within him that she had not seen before in anyone else. There was also how relaxed he was, like he had nothing to fear in this world at all. He puzzled the necromancer.

"You could say that," he said as he waved his hand, opening his eyes on different planes to look at her. He frowned slightly but it was gone in a second, flitting across his features faster than could be discerned.
What he had seen pulled at him, she was visible on the djinn plane, and that was unusual. However, she was visible on several others, making her a mix of djinn and necromancer. He frowned then, opening his eyes to regard her before he understood why exactly she looked familiar. She was his daughter, that was why she looked familiar. Ayvajin looked like her mother, but with his hair.
"Ayvajin, do you know your parents?" he asked, not caring if it was appropriate or not in human customs.

Ayvajin’s right eyebrow raised every so delicately as she observed him. It was rather an odd question to ask someone within minutes of knowing them. Not to mention, most people assumed, at first, that the person who they are talking to knows where they came from. She had given no indication that she may not know her birth parents.
The necromancer took a long moment before answering, finally deciding that it could not hurt to just be honest. No reason to lie over something so little.
“No, I have never known my birth parents,” Ayvajin said, toying with the end of her dress with her fingers. “I was put upon the doorstep of my adopted family not too long after I was born. Why do you ask, though?”
She looked back up to him, curiosity swimming in her light blue eyes.

Morpheus shrugged before laying back down. He was a djinn, he didn't really care about propriety or the lack thereof he may display at times. "You look like someone from my past, that's all," he said with a dismissive tone before looking at her with dark eyes. "Well, she had lighter hair than you do, but you have her eyes," he said before settling back with his hands behind his head, watching the clouds.
That was about as close as he would come to telling her he was actually her father and about as far as he knew about djinn being able to impregnate other species. He shrugged the thought off, it wasn't like he really could have been around to raise a kid anyways.

Ayvajin looked away from him, now rather confused. More confused than she was a moment ago. The necromancer ran a hand through her hair, trying to figure out what exactly this stranger had just told her.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked off into the distance for a moment. Her mind worked quickly, coding whatever he might have been hinting at.
She turned back to the stranger, eyebrow raised once more before her face finally settled with understanding. Ayvajin gave a smile and then a laugh. She shook her head slightly before finally deciding on what she would say.
“Thank you for letting me know,” she said gently. “I do have a few questions for you if you are willing to listen. You do not have to answer them, though.”

Morpheus shrugged, not really caring what she may think. This was why djinn were horrible choices for parents unless you wanted a child with almost unlimited power that only answered to their true name. Or sometimes the kid didn't make it at all, either way djinn were never around for long and often times killed their children when they found out about it.
"Ask if you want, but you may or may not get an answer dependent upon my mood," he said with a twisted grin on his mouth as he gazed up at the blue sky above them.

“That is fair enough,” Ayvajin said with a slight nod. She smiled a bit as so many questions rose to her head. She pushed back most of them, though. As a child she had wondered where she came from, who her parents were, what they were like. There were no means of her to find these answers, and as time went on she just pushed the thought of ever finding her parents out of her mind.
“I will not waste your time with obvious questions. Nor will I waste your time with questions directed toward you and all of that. I think I already know what type of being you are.” The necromancer did know now, and all those thoughts of her being part djinn were correct.
“I just… I want to know what you remember of my mother if you truly remember anything about her at all. I suppose that I have always had a curiosity of knowing where I come from exactly. And well, I now know what you look like.”

Morpheus nodded, eyes watching the clouds that swirled above them with a lazy gaze. "She had lighter hair than you, almost a blonde color, but you look exactly like her otherwise," he said casually. To him, this did not matter, especially what he was talking about. The woman had been dead for several hundred years now, it was part of the past of the djinn.
"She had small powers as a necromancer, nothing like what you have but that would come from the other side of you," he continued. "She was sweet and nice and all the things that humans wish to be like or hold in high regard. I assume she died giving birth to you but she would have been more than happy to raise you as her own," he said.

Ayvajin nodded her head slightly. Her heart gave a sudden pain as she fought off a sudden want to cry. She would not cry, though, especially not now. She vanished all of those past feelings of abandonment, anger, and resentment that she had held deep in her heart as a child.
She knew that knowing who her birth parents were was just something that she personally wanted to accomplish in her life. Now, she had and she was grateful for this. She smiled now, quite a bit more than before. Ayvajin had not expected to get such news today, but it somehow made her mood even brighter.
“Thank you so much,” she said to him. “I appreciate you giving me some of your time. I do not expect to run into you again. Just… Thank you for giving me some enlightenment.”
