While she did understand the importance of peace talks with the other races, it completely escaped her why she would be the once chosen for the job. After all, who wanted to talk peace with a foul-mouthed, rude, and pushy maji when they clearly wanted to be anywhere else but here? No one, that's who, and add to the fact that said maji also liked using the harpies for target practice on her off days certainly didn't help their cause any.
So it was with a soft curse and a loud sigh of relief that Elysia was released from what was supposed to be routine peace talks an had turned into a down right brawl with words. She'd won, but only because the harpies and angelics had taken to squawking at her towards the end.
"Fucking birdbrains," she muttered as she roamed the garden, licking some blood from the scratches where the queen of said birdbrains had tried to grab her; it was a bad mistake on her part, because the woman was now twitching on the floor and recovering from being tased by the human taser. "Why the hell did the Magistrate pick me? I'm not a people person. Hell, I hate everyone."
And by the gods she wished someone would make a note of it. If the assistant they'd sent with her didn't sooth the ruffled feathers (litterally and figuratively) then they would lose a powerful ally. Of course, if and when that happened, it would be her fault and they would try to punish her, but how the hell did you punish someone who could stop your heart with a single touch? That logic always escaped her as well.
"Ergh, that freaking hurt," she snapped at the air, still trying to lap the blood up off her arm so that she could tend it properly.

Alehkar was never one that enjoyed conferences or even conversations with others. He usually avoided it at all costs, which is why he was wandering away from the main places in the palace. The Daemon had already been lured by numerous ladies in conversation, and when they started pushing their chests out at him he took it as a sign to leave. Definitely not something he was interested in. Why were women so odd?
The Daemon had wandered into the garden in an almost run. Bounding into the room and closing the glass doors behind him. It was not his fault he did not care for the women around here, they were either too slutty or too needy. He just wanted to meet people to talk, but no one ever wanted to do that with him for some reason.
A sigh escaped his lips and he leaned against the door closing his eyes, breathing rather deeply before a curse echoed in the air. His eyes opened to look out at the greenery, unaware as to where they curse came from he pushed himself off of the door and glanced around, walking very slowly.
Alehkar turned around a corner and caught sight of the maji, a small smile coming to his lips. Moving swiftly he walked up to her rather carefully. Pulling out a tissue from his pocket and held it out to her. “Ouch.” was all he said as he looked at her wounds.

Blue eyes blinked up at the daemon from the gashes on her arm, only mildly surprised that he was there. After all, it was a large castle and there were people everywhere, so why shouldn't he be in the garden? No, what surprised her the most was that he was SMILING at her and offering to help tend her wounds. Hadn't he heard about her from the ruling beasts in the bastle?
Elysia scowled at him as she took in his pretty boy exterior; probably thought he would help the damsel in distress. "Yes, ouch," she replied without much emotion as her gaze returned to her arm. Pursing her lips, she ran her other hand down the length of her arm (muttering words of power as she went) until all that was left was smooth skin and a long smear of blood. She let it drop to her side without cleaning it off, completely unperturbed; she'd just been licking her own wound after all. "You're not here to yank me back, are you? Because I refuse to talk to the birdbrains until they calm the fuck down."
What was it with pretty boys that pissed her off. she wondered as she continued to scowl at him (although it was slowly turning into a glare). It was odd how she always felt the need to fry them when they waltzed up and tried to act like she ought to be swoning over them and their rugged good looks. And maybe most women did, but Elysia had never been like most women, and so no one hit on her anymore. Some even said that she had a toothy vagina.
Which always brought a smirk to her face, because some species of animals did. They usually ate the males after they were done sleeping with them too, she would say much to their horror.

Actually he had heard about her, had heard oh such wonderous things. Actually. Not really. But he always made his own opinions on people, and usually ignored what others stated. The Daemon shrugged his shoulders and offered her the kleenex again. She was almost amusing to him, the way she acted so hostile for him trying to help her out.
Now, If the maji knew him in anyway she would know he was not a pretty boy. Or at the very least it was not like he spent hours in the mirror. He had women kissing his feet but he had no idea why, and had no idea why they acted so weird around him. Alehkar was completely, one hundred percent, naïve and for better means blind when it came to women.
“I apologize if I offended you in anyway and I can assure you I have no idea what you are talking about, I am not here to take you anywhere. I have escaped the zoo out there and came here. Also..If you want to wipe that blood off, I do have a tissue for you..If you want..“ He looked almost awkward and nervous, but the smile remained at his lips as he studied her.

Oh now that was cute...guess he wasn't like all the other pretty boys after all if he was that awkward around her. Shrugging, she plucked the kerchief from his hand and delicately began to dab at the drying blood, a move that belied her abrasive personality. "Good, because I'm not getting attacked again unless we're at war," she replied almost primly; the fact that she could go from cursing like a sailor to acting like a lady often threw most people off kilter, but then she'd always been that way and derived great pleasure from the surprise looks on their faces. "Here's your hankie," she said by way of thanks as she passed the flimsy piece of fabric back.
She supposed that if he was here to escape as well that he could stay; not like he was going to be able to do anything to her anyways. Small hands smoothed the ruffled fabric of her dress as she looked around, ignoring the curious stare he was giving her as she took in the lucious garden around them; it was the kind of garden couples met in for midnight rendevous. The very thought gave her heartburn.
No one would ever catch her acting like a lovesick simp for a man. Granted there were any brave enough to try and make her into one. "So what are you running from?" she asked to block out the thoughts running rampant in her head.

Alehkar noted the change in her behavior, but was not surprised or shocked. He just felt like he was being accepted to stay in the garden with her, like it was a honor to be allowed that much. This thought quirked his lips up ever so slightly while he watched her. Amusement crossing his eyes at her statement in more of an agreement then humor at not wanting to be attacked. Alehkar was more of a listener then a talker, and he was usually very quiet when first meeting people. But since he left abourno he was starting to enjoy simply getting to talk with others. He was starting to think he did not like his own home as much as he did temarra.
Alehkar would never be lovesick in a garden like this, although at one poin the had been. That was a mistake. Trust would not be given so freely, but he was also not a very suspicious being. A name or a past was not a big deal to him like it seemed to be to most people. He was always asked why he was so kind, even by his own daemons, who were very suspicious due to the past wartimes. Apparently it was always thought of a weakness, but alehkar thought differently. As he watched the maji he wondered what type of being she was, whether she would laugh at him again or would accept him. Probably Not the latter of the two.
What was he running from? Now that confused even himself. Brows furrowing together as he thought about the question briefly, hand raising to catch the Kleenex and bundled it before placing it back in his pocket to throw out. It didn’t seem right to litter in this garden, where everything was clean, delicate, and beautiful. ”I am running from some ladies. They are quite odd. I do not understand them and do not want to talk to them, but they follow me. It does not make sense, you would think if I asked them to leave me a lone they would. But alas, they do not. I do not like them, but they come anyways. Not as stressful as your situation though, I am sure. What happened to your arm? That was quite a nasty gash..”

"Maybe it's because they think you're cute," she informed him boredly, glancing down at the dried blood the kerchief had failed to clean off. The smile she gave it was dark and malicious, as if she were thinking about how she had paid the harpie back for attacking her. "I insulted the queen of the birdbrains and she attacked me. It's not my fault that I didn't want to be here and that her demands for the treaty were selfish and childish; the rest of the council wasn't going to say anything, so I did."
And she'd called her a bratty, selfish bitch, too. The queen had responded in kind by calling her a hateful whore, to which Elysia had said that she didn't sleep with strange men because the queen had already had them all. That had been about when she'd let out a terrible cry and leapt at her, some of her followers trying desperately to keep their queen from getting herself killed.

“Perhaps so. But that is nothing I can control. I can just be honest and tell them that I am not interested.” he shrugged and let out a sigh, eyes roaming before looking back at her. Both eyes widening ever so gently at her remark, a little taken back by it. Looking suddenly awkward again as he studied her. She looked rather upset over insulting the queen, but it was definitely not about making fun of her more about the cut and herself. ”You can’t insult a queen..Why would you do such a thing?” His brows furrowed as he shifted a bit uncomfortably. ]

He was horrified, but curious too; she could tell by the way he squirmed next to her. "Because I can," she shrugged carelessly, smiling a real, faintly amused smile. It was odd how it's predecessor seemed to only mar her pretty face while this small one lit it up brighter then Boliko's magic on a dark night. "And because I'm old enough to know my stuff and give my opinion. No one questions you much once you hit six thousand."
Although the fact that the Harpie queen had had the nerve to make demands of her was laughable; she was an emissary of peace, not a slave to be rented out. There was nothing more disgusting then forcing one's wants upon another person. She'd said that as well when she'd tased the bitch.

His brows shot up at her age and he couldn’t help but let his gaze look her from head to toe. Obviously she did not look six thousand. But most rarely do. “I see…So. Because you are old, you feel obligated to be disrespectful to the head of the harpies and their leader?” Obvious confusion came in his voice as he tried to rack his brain. It didn’t really make sense, but obviously she had gotten so old she was slightly crazy. That was the only thing that made sense, otherwise why would she be so rude? It really did not make any sense. Alehkar shook his head, obviously naïve over the situation.

The smile slipped off her face as if it had never existed and the blonde returned to glaring daggers at the daemon. It didn't even matter that his tone contradicted his words. "I insulted her," she began slowly, chosing her words carefully lest her temper get the better of her, "Because she was being ignorant and making demands of the council that we were in no position to grant. And I have little tolerence for stupidity, so I called her a selfish bitch."
Faintly she wondered why she was explaining herself to him when she never explained herself to anyone. Perhaps it was the thin air; Elysia rarely travelled to the mountains, and so her lungs weren't accustomed to the thin air. It was actually starting to make her loopy the more she let her temper bubble.

Alehkar was almost expecting her to snap, but the response he got was far from it. Logical and actually made him agree with her words, as best he could when insulting someone would ever come from him. Both brows rose ever so lightly before he shrugged nonchalantly. ”I suppose you are right, perhaps.” His words were more thoughtful as he glanced around the garden.
His fingers plucked a flower out and he was twirling the lily between his fingers. ”If my presence here bothers you, I can leave..You seem quite frustrated, and I know I would not want a stranger around when all I want to do is vent or escape..”

Her vision swam, though she managed through sheer will to keep from swaying on her feet. "I'm fine," she heard herself say from far away. Crap, the mountain air was starting to get to her, and the lighting of her temper wasn't helping any. Forcing the licking flames into embers, she calmed herself enough so that the tunnel-vision wasn't as bad. "And believe me, if I wanted to vent, this garden wouldn't be here anymore," she added with a faint smirk before her vision swam once more and went black.
The maji tipped over onto the ground in a dead faint, the only thing going through her mind as conciousness left being a long stream of curses foul enough to make a pirate blush. Face clear of any irritation and all thought, Elysia was no longer the terrifying amazon many took her to be. She actually appeared to be a normal girl (though still far from fragile) of twenty, the age when she'd attained her status as apprentice and stopped aging.

Alehkar had a worried expression across his face and leapt forward just in time to catch Elysia mid fall. His arms wrapped around her torso and under her knees and lifted her up to place her on the standing bench. A frown coming to his features as he studied her face. All the aggression leaving her face. All the frustrations and hardness left along with it. Alehkar could not help but notice how simple she looked, beautiful yes, but simple at the same time. She looked strong yet fragile at the same time, but he definitely knew that she was far from the latter of the two.
He could hear her shallow breathing and frowned ever more as he attempted to heal anything. Alehkar looked around before lifting her into his arms again. Healing could not help the thin air, that was the only thing. He could not change the air around them. Alehkar carried her as if she were a feather, moving and spreading his wings lifting off and praying she would not wake up and beat the shit out of him. He kept his eyes on her as he swooped as fast as he could to a lower altitude, landing on the lowest part of abourno. On the outskirts directly below the mountains, but still not fully down, far enough that the air would be easier to breathe for her. His hands tried healing again as both brows furrowed and he kneeled over her now laying frame.

"Hey, quit with the light show," she told him weakly once she'd fought her way back to conciousness. "I'm not going to die because I can't breathe." Elysia sat up weakly, a mildly annoyed look on her face as she clutched her throbbing head in one hand. Damn, that had been pathetic; to out and out faint (what kind of all powerful maji faints? Only girls did that) in front of a stranger and then have selfsame stranger carry her who knows where so that she could breathe better? While it was a sweet gesture and he hadn't needed to do it, no one just helped people anymore. Not without wanting something, anyway.
"Where the hell are we?" she asked, a small note of panic in her voice; the maji didn't like not knowing exactly where shew as at all times. It was a weird control issue she was trying to fix.

Alehkar blinked very slowly as he stopped the healing, the light glow stopping slowly and he just looked at her. Concern raking his face as he studied her to make sure everything seemed okay. Doubtful she would want him to be so close to her he leaned up and pushed himself to his feet. Standing and looking around before shrugging. Looking a bit awkward again, for some reason the Maji just made him overly awkward. A frown came across his features and he looked around the area slowly before shrugging his shoulders up and down slowly.
”Well.. Your on the outskirts of Abourno. We are directly below the garden. About mid way from the bottom to the top, If you would like I can take you back up. Or down. I was just concerned, you weren’t breathing so well… I’m sorry for carrying you down here…” His gaze looked down to avoid hers at the last statement, knowing she probably was upset at him. He looked almost like a little boy who did something bad

Elysia was attributing the sudden affection for him as maternal instincts that needed to be squashed immediately. It was a weird day when she actually wondered if she was so terrifying. "Hey kiddo, quite apologizing and calm down. You're fine, okay?" she told him, shifting so that she was sitting cross legged. Her world was still spinning, but she took a deep breath to steady herself. The world immediately got brighter and she attributed that to the pressure that was now receding from her head; she felt lighter already. "You're fine as long as you didn'y touch me while I was out...you didn't, did you?" she asked, tone warning.

He calmed down a bit, relaxing as he stood there looking at her, nodding slightly. His eyes moving across to look around the area that he visited quite often. But, it was her last words that caused pure shock to come across his face. Shaking his head from side to side quickly, ” I did no such thing.. I mean.. I did to carry you here.. But I mean, I couldn’t help that because I had to lift you.. Which your not very heavy by the way, But I mean. Not like That” Alehkar couldn’t even talk at that, stuttering slightly as his brows furrowed together. "By the way.. You look very tough when your sleeping too.. just to let you know.." Alehkar cleared his throat and was looking anywhere but at her.

She cou;dn't help it: she laughed. "Haha, you're a funny guy," she giggled, wiping a tear from her eye; these types were always the most fun to mess with. Suave and debonaire, while most were just plain womanizers, there were always a few who were shy and...well, virgins. She liked to play with them the most despite her own vow of chastity. "And yes, I'm quite aware of how cute I am when I sleep. My master used to tell me in jest all the time, so don't worry yourself."
It seemed that the farther away from her duties and more distracted by them, the looser she became and was quicker to smile. She offered him a reassuring one now, and it was carefree and innocent despite the sinister ones she had given him before. It just went to show how uptight and stressed she was.

Alehkar was definitely not a virgin. Why did people always think that of him? Just because he didn’t run after ever girl that he spoke with people always made that assumption. Apparently chivalry and actually loving someone before sleeping with them was rare around these parts. Alehkar smiled at her slightly, a rough chuckle escaping his lips at her words. “Yes. Very cute. Are you feeling okay? I was worried there.. And I’ll stop apologizing, I just didn’t know how you would react to me picking you up..”
The daemon shifted slightly in his spot before moving to sit down near her. Letting his legs fall out infront of him and leaning back a bit. His wings resting against his back lightly. ”If you want I can take you back up there. I doubt you’d want to be here long anyways, it was just to get you to breathe normally..”
