Even though the world of Yviex is at a relative peace, there are still many struggles. In the past, there have been wars between many races. Struggles for land and money have caused a lot of hardships on the people of Yviex. These struggles were rather intense until a magic user by the name of Devion stepped to the crown of Temarra. He made peace talks come between the nations even if the nations want nothing to deal with it.
Peace has fallen over the land for about three hundred years. Even in this peace, fights have a habit of breaking out. People have turn on each other just for being of different races.
Angelics and Harpies
Angelics and harpies had always had problems being around each other. Both races wanted to make a home out of the rugged terrain of the Stroikara Mountains. The angelics thought they had more of a right to take over the mountain range, claiming to be much more sophisticated. They looked down on the harpies, thinking that the harpies were barbaric creatures.
A series of battles were fought between the angelics and the harpies. The battles only caused bloodshed between both races, and none of the conflicts were resolved from the fighting. The struggle stopped when the daughter of the angelic king at the time befriended a harpy. Peace talks between the two races occurred and the battles between the two races ended. Together the angelics and harpies created the city of Abourno.
Drows and Elves
At one point long ago, all of the elf races lived together peacefully. No one is sure what caused a disturbance among the elves, but eventually the moon and forest elves drove the drow elves down beneath the surface. Ever since that day when the drows were exiled to live in the Underdark, they have held a sheer hate for the other elves. The drow elves often would come up to the surface and wage battles against the moon and forest elves.
When peace finally settled upon all of Yviex, the battles between the elven races became less. The drows, though, continued to hold their hatred for the moon and forest elves. Solitary battles occur between elves still, but nothing close to the size of the wars that were once held.
Necromancers and Soulstealers
Ever since soulstealers came into existence, they have been having much conflict with necromancers. Necromancers were created to help guide souls and spirits off to the next world. Soulstealers have a habit of getting in the way of the duties of the necromancers.
In the beginning when necromancers first came across soulstealers, they tried to live peacefully with the soulstealers. This type of thinking did not last long though. Necromancers found themselves competing against the soulstealers to get souls and to help them to the world of the dead. Soulstealers were constantly snatching souls from the dead before they could get to safety.
Battles between necromancers and soulstealers started to erupt. Many soulstealers and necromancers ended up dead due to the conflicts. In the end, soulstealers were exiled not just by the necromancers but by several races to live in the wet lands of Yviex.
When peace had finally fallen over all of the lands, soulstealers were allowed to roam about Yviex freely again.
Struggles of the Human Race
Humans have always been the underdogs of Yviex. They have always had to struggle to survive among all of the other species of the world. Humans have been put through slavery by several different races. Vampires use to prison humans and use them as a source of easily gotten food. Giants would capture humans and treat them like common pets.
The only time the human race has had a break was when peace finally came to the land. The Treaty of Peticvex freed all races from slavery and gave humans rights that they had not been allowed before. Humans were able to live normal lives without anyone ruling over them.
Discrimination against humans still occurs.
Vampires and Werewolves
Vampires and werewolves were the two races that no one thought would have any trouble. An odd paring, vampires and werewolves became allies not too long after their creation. When the first vampires met up with the first werewolves, they were able to find many similarities. Both races hunted at night, had a desire for blood, could shapeshift in some way, and lived out in nature. They saw these likenesses and decided to team up together to hunt.
This alliance lasted for a couple of hundred years. Vampires and werewolves were able to hunt together, using each other to trick humans. No one is quite sure what caused vampires and werewolves to split away from each other. Some believe it was one of the higher vampire’s lust for money.
After this alliance was destroyed, vampires and werewolves started to have battles against each other. These battles would destroy whole villages at a time. With both races being rather strong, whole buildings would get destroyed in the wake of their battles.
When peace finally set upon the land, vampires and werewolves kept away from each others. Werewolves stayed around their city of Lunetta while vampires created their own clans far away from the werewolf pack.
