Abilities:
Earth Magick
Lightning Magic (Will learn at a later time)
Companions:
Occupation: N/A
Appearance:
Talme is slightly taller than the average teenage human, though this is not particularly surprising considering the fact that he is a wizard - he's become accustomed to not only his height, but his fairly slender body as well - he knows brute force will never be his strong suit. His brown hair is cut very short, rarely ever reaching past his eyebrows. His eyes are a light gray - though you would never see this, as he keeps them underneath a bandage that wraps around his head to keep his eyes hidden; He is in fact, quite blind. He has a fading scar cut from above his right eye, down to his chin.
Talme tends to wear more dramatic clothing, he’s found that looking at least a bit intimidating can help in some situations. He wears a tan coloured shirt along with a bandolier that allows him to carry the majority of his possessions, which include but are not limited to: Clothing, food, gadgets and items, or just about anything else that will aid him in his journeys. Talme has chosen baggy light brown pants that flow into his jet black leather boots - both of which have sharpened-stone blades hidden in a very small compartment underneath his foot. Overtop of his clothes he wears a crimson coloured cloak with a golden trim that reaches down to the ground in a dramatic style. The cloak itself carries some natural properties that protect against mild forms of Magick -something that greatly aids Talme, especially with his impaired vision.
Personality:
Loyal, determined, and stubborn. Talme has been described as all of these things. He can be a great friend during times of need, although it may take him a while to adjust to emotional need - he is certainly always around to help when it involves combat, or an adventure. His blindness has made him somewhat impatient in recent months, because he is not used to having to rely on others in certain situations where he would have been fine - if he still had his vision. It has caused him a great deal of hardship, though he manages to get by only with the help of his Earth Magick, which he uses to sense the terrain around him, to give him a very basic form of sight.
He can be a bit harsh to those who cross him at a bad moment, or if he’s in the middle of concentrating on something important. Talme is very liable to become angry when someone boasts their own magical abilities - he is quick to either insult or challenge such individuals - and he is not often willing to give up after stating his challenge.
History:
Talme has led a very difficult life in the eighteen years he has existed for - it has been filled with destruction, abandonment, and anger. He was born to a pair of very poor parents who could hardly afford to feed him, and he was hardly educated through his youth because of this. His father worked as a gravedigger, and as Talme found out - drunks don’t tend to make the best fathers. After years of not receiving exactly the best treatment from his parents, they finally kicked him out of the house when food became so scarce, that they often went to bed without meals. Talme, being only seven at the time, went through one brutal year on his own, where he fought day and night to endure the hardships of being a street-child. For some reason, Talme tended to be much more coordinated than the other children, and was able to make a decent living for himself (As decent as a life can be on the streets), and it wasn’t long before he had the respect and admiration of a great many people who were like him. At the time of course, Talme wouldn’t have realized that the reason he was able to jump around a corner, and already have his feet lifted to clear a cart of staircase - was because he showed a brilliant potential in magickal abilities. Even at his age, he was able to perform basic Earth Magick abilities such as sensing through the ground - and it gained the attention of an Wizard who happened to be a master in such arts. Ethel Koron took Talme off of the streets, and put him to work as his apprentice, realizing how much potential the child had. Talme didn’t get along with rules very well, and he never did quite get used to them - he didn’t like being told what to do very much at all, although when he realized just how powerful some of the spells were…he quickly learned his place, and became more adaptable.
Years went by as Talme learned, and grew. He became an adept at spell casting, and was able to manipulate the ground to an extent, shifting rocks or causing pebbles to fly through the air - it became a life style for Talme, as he learned hundreds of uses for his new abilities. There were many times where he had conflicts with other students as they visited -and he claimed that he could take on any of them. Sure enough, whenever he duelled another person, he was almost always the victor…and he made sure that if he lost, he would find the fault that caused his humiliation, and train into the dark hours of the night in order to correct his mistakes.
It wasn’t until he was 17 years old that he decided to branch out, and learn another form of magick - though his master forbade him to do so. Not allowing Talme to pursue his own path was likely the one error his master had made. By barring the young teen from practicing lightning magic with another master, it caused Talme to attempt to learn the art on his own, through the use of books and other reading material - and when he actually managed to call on the magick, he had almost no control over it. It happened during a spar between him and his master; Talme had wanted to surprise his master by pummelling him with a blast of electricity, though the effects were slightly underestimated. Talme drew far to much energy, and a blast of lightning shot down from the sky and seared his vision - leaving his eye color gray - and his vision non existent. As punishment for such a foolish act, his master exiled him from his study, and sent him away. This is where Talme spent the next five months learning how to use his magickal sense through the ground, to allow him to still retain his mobility and independence.
