The bustle of many were swarming about, all in a hurry to go wherever it is they needed to go. People and creatures a like passed in a fever about the Daemon as he stood still and almost seemed in shock among such a large crowd. No one was paying him any attention, all hustling by like he was invisible while he stood and watched in slight curiosity. Not far from his statue like frame was a pair bickering, the large man was screaming at a rather frail looking human girl, her bottom lip quivering. Alehkar’s eyes darkened slightly as he watched the man raise his hand above his head in an open palm and the girl cower away. Within a quick motion Alehkar burst forward, but everyone was running in front of him.
People pushed him out of their way, as he tried to carefully make his way through to no avail. Eyebrows narrowing downward as he watched the scene take place before he was overwhelmed with an urge to get to them. He tensed his entire torso, arms sturdy to block the crowd as he pushed himself through. Manipulating all others actions seemed to do t he trick, and just before the strangers hand lay across her pale cheek Alehkar’s hand lifted and grabbed the falling arm by the wrist. His own arm twisted to turn the hollering red man before tossing him back. Head turning away from him as the darkness in his sky blue eyes faded and he stared at the young girl.
“Are you alright?”
His voice was almost melodic and soothing as he stared down at her with soft a soft sky blue vision. The petite girl just nodded and looked at the man who was getting up, she turned and booked it down the street through the busy crowd. Alehkar was watching as she began running away from him and he took a step forward to try to follow lead, but was blocked by numerous strangers. Why was this place so busy?! Did no one have anything better to do but run around like chickens? Alehkar grumbled and turned to walk, the old angry man forgotten as he walked past him and left the stranger with arms shaking in the air and curses screaming after him.
“I do not understand humans and their cowardice..I w ish someone would explain such to me”
The words muttered through his lips as he stopped. Turning and going leaning against a wall to take a deep breath. At least in his home he had piece and quiet, people just would not stop talking or screaming or crying. His eyes shut tightly for a moment as he tried to steady his breath, head tilted back and his chin up. Light golden bangs falling to cover his face partially as both arms crossed about his chest. What an adventure.

She hadn't really gotten much business that day. Why was everyone is such a hurry? She didn't know and probably never would. There was very little coin in her purse and that irked her.
She needed money to buy supplies before she could leave to travel someplace were she would get more business. The whole thing was just rather annoying.
Riviera sighed and shuffled her cards absent mindedly. Maybe if she moved to a different location she would have better luck? It was then that a man leaned against a wall near by. Either it was a sign or life was taunting her.
"Perhaps I could interest you in a reading?" She said in her most mysterious voice. She moved slightly and the trinkets that hung around her waste jingled.

Alehkar was in his own world, his eyes had actually fallen shut, that was until a sudden voice startled him. His daggar flew into his hand and his arm outstretched immediately, the point a foot from her chin. His eyes widened suddenly at his stupid reaction as he realized what she asked him. His arm quickly fell to his side and his dagger disappeared into his sleeve, brows furrowing together.
”I am very sorry. So sorry m’lady..Very sorry”.
His voice was full of concern as he took a step forward, eyes examining her face. Alehkar was not close enough to hurt her, but still he had to make sure she was alright. Pushing away from the wall as he tilted his lower half into a bow of apology. Raising himself with a grin flashing across his face. A reading? He was not quite sure what she meant by that but anything to stop her from thinking he was horrid like a demon.
“ A reading would be lovely, I do love stories. You startled me, and I believe I fell asleep there for a moment..
His eyes sparkled skyblue as his smile grew even more. He just hoped she didn’t call some authority or something, very sure he would have startled her. how could he be so foolish? Looking at her he could tell she was nothing to be worried over.

She watched his eyes snap open and almost laughed at the fact that she had startled him. That however didn't last long. He reacted as if she had attacked him, drawing a dagger.
Her hand instantly reached for her own weapon. The trinkets jiggled and clanked again as stepped back. Riviera tensed as she prepared to defend herself, her bare feet spread apart and made a slight shushing sound against the ground.
Then as quickly as he had reacted the dagger was gone. She let herself untense but her hand still stayed on her own dagger ready to draw it if necessary.
There were a few seconds that passed between his apology and her reaction. "That's alright." She let herself relax even more. Apparently she had just really taken him by surprise.
His comment about stories made her laugh. It was an honest laugh but she tried to make it a part of her act. She was trying to gather her mysterious air back around her.
"Ah but this story is special." Her smiled turned in to a smaller and more coy one. An especially curly lock of reddish brown hair fell in her face. She reached for her deck of cards and purposefully set her things jingling once again.
"This story is the story of your life." Her voice was back to sounding eerie and just a bit playful. "I could read your palm or if you'd like to consult the cards?" She batted her lashes at him and spread the tarot cards out in her hand with the backs facing up.

(So Sorry. I got a big worm and couldn't use my computer at all, sorry. sorry.)
The Daemon leaned back against the wall as he watched her. A Story with his palm? Was she crazy? Alehkar turned his eyes towards his palms, studying them with slight confusion before shrugging and holding one of his hands out. His gaze lifted up and studied her face. Perhaps she was crazy, it’s not like you could really tell with people. His father was always quite unique but usually seemed normal until the whip came out and his eyes got that crazy look in them. He was studying her eyes now, and noticed there was no real wild look in them.
“If You really wish too..I‘d prefer if you read the cards though..Although I do not really see the point in telling me a story about myself. After all, I know all about myself, and it‘s quite impossible that you know me better the me..”
There was a tone to his voice as if he was almost worried. Although he was not worried for himself, more for this gentle looking creature before him that seemed to be going a bit nuts. His first reaction to her had been completely dissolved, and now he was just both intrigued and a bit nervous. Who offered strangers stories about themselves? Who cared about stories about themselves anyways?

"You would be surprised." Her smile was still in place as she tried to keep her act pieced together. She folded the cards back in to the deck and gave them a little shuffle.
After she shuffled them she offered them to him. "Now Cut the deck any where you like." Since he was confused she was going about this a different way than most times. Usually a person would ask a question while they cut the deck and then she would use the cards to 'divine' the answer.
Since he had no question she was going to do a differnt type of reading that would give random information. Some about the past, some about the present, and some about the future. It was a method she very rarely used because it was harder to fake but it didn't seem like that mattered much at the moment.
She was going to have a little fun acting the part of the fortune teller. After all she hadn't had a customer all day.

Alehkar watched her with slight curiosity now, and even more confusion. He simply nodded and took a step forward and cut the deck roughly around half way down. “Somehow I doubt I will be surprised. It is about me afterall. Now what would you like me to do?” Alehkar asked, looking around to note that the two of them were alone in the alleyway. Now this is completely against anything parents would ever say, hanging out with a crazy stranger in a dark alleyway without anyone around. Nice. Biting his lower lip slowly he awaited her next instruction. ”if you would prefer I could just buy you some food, you don’t’ need to pretend to do something.”

Riviera too the cards back from him and pretended to be insulted. "Sir I work for a living." Well in a way she did. After all putting on these little shows could be considered work. "Just wait and judge weather or not you're surprised after you hear what the cards have to say."
She drew a card nd showed it to him. "It is the Chariot. It symbolizes A great struggle in your past. Something hard to get out of perhaps or to get over. But is also indicates an eventual victory whether it has already come to pass or ha yet to happen. " She was fully in to her fortune teller persona at the moment. She always enjoyed translating the cards even if she wasn't doing it for real.
The next card was drawn. The fool, a good card to have in the present. This card indicates the possibilities that exist all around you."
She smiled and drew the third and final card. "And last is, Strength. As this card is the third and indicative of the future it could mean many things. Perhaps it is pointing out hat you will be given a chance to exercise a great control over your own inner demons. Or t could be pointing to you gaining a loyal and steadfast friend. Either way this card usually indicates great inner strength will be necessary to you."
She as very pleased wit herself. Most of the cards had been general enough that she had been able to make the so they could jsut about fit anyone. The fool was always a good card for her to draw because it was easily interpreted in many ways.
(Again I am sorry for the lack of accurateness in Riviera's reading. I looked up the meanings of the cards and did my best to remember when my cousin did a reading for me.)

Alehkar watched her as she flipped the cards, studying her face as he listened to her. The daemon shrugged his shoulders when she was done. He never understood the story, and in his mind it didn‘t really say too much. Little did he know that most people, almost all people, would take that and be amazed by the significance. A chill ran through the air and alehkar sighed before speaking to the young lady, deciding she was not completely crazy. ”Well that’s pretty vague and not at all a good story. But you gave me a story and I accepted it, how much would you like so I can go on my way?”
Obviously he had no desire to go home, but he did want to leave the busy marketplace. People out there were crazy, and he did not feel like getting into a nother fight. How come he always got into fights? He never started them. humans were so odd, especially this little one before him.

She sighed as her act dropped. Now she was in a bit of a depressed mood. Never before had anyone disliked her readings like this. Even the ones that didn't believe she was foretelling their futures acted more excited at the end.
Obviously she had failed greatly in her performance for him to be so unaffected. She should have just taken the offer of food when he had given it to her. Oddly enough, for a person who made her living by conning people in to thinking that they were having their futures told to them, she had a sense of honor that wasn't going to allow her to accept payment when he had not gotten the intended effect of her fake reading.
She smiled a little again though this one looked a bit bitter. "No payment necessary. I have obviously failed." She tapped her empty pouch wondering if she would be able to find someone else who would find her more believable. She doubted it with the mood she was in. It would prove impossible for her to piece back together her shattered air of mystery.

Alehkar could feel her energy drain, and he could feel himself drain as well. Why was he being such an asshole? He was never like that before. Alehkar frowned and looked down at the ground before sighing and taking a few steps towards her. Miss.. I’m real sorry. I’m no good at these types of things, but if you would please allow me..” He paused and offered her a short smile and waved his hand to the outside of the alleyway.
He felt like utter shit now, and he could not understand why. He should not have acted like that, and he should have been nice. Perhaps it was because of his rough morning, but that was no excuse. “Let me take you out for dinner. It would be my pleasure. In apology for being so crude..”

She was in the process of trying to figure out what she was going to do next and his apology took her completely by surprise. That was something she hadn't expected.
After a second her brain processed the complete turn round in the situation and she smiled back at him, this time just a normal smile. Should she take him up on the offer though? Riviera bit her lip in thought. She couldn't see in harm in it. After all she had given him a reading and when she was younger she used to get money or food off of people's pity all the time.
"Thank you I would very much appreciate that." Today wasn't a good day to be trying to tell fortunes anyway. He was the first reading she had given all day and obviously she had been less than believable. Maybe a little break would be a good thing.

Alehkar actually felt like shit and frowned lightly but as she agreed he could feel himself lighten ever so lightly. Holding out his elbow to her with an almost goofy grin to his face. “It’s a date then. What would you like to eat?” Quite a turn of events, but Alehkar was not feeling sorry for her, jus felt a bit upset at himself that was all. “I do apologize I was so rude before. I’ve never had someone tell me a story by cards before, and.. Yes. I apologize. I am Alehkar, what is your name?” He was calm as he turned to look towards her. Perhaps his day would not be so boring, and he was definitely happy to have a conversation with someone that seemed to have their wits about them. Well mostly. He’d since determined she was probably not that crazy.

"You don't have to keep apologizing." She wasn't even sure why he was apologizing but in the end it didn't really matter. "And I can eat just about any thing besides it would be rude o me to chose since you are paying."
When he offered his elbow she almost laughed. No man had ever acted so gentlemanly toward her. Considering she was a common thief it wasn't that much of a surprise. "My name is Riviera." She took th offered arm but felt a litle bit foolish. It was all in good fun though. She wondered how this daywas going to turn out.
