Aurora winced, hushing Chance as she made her way back into her house. She'd told Celestine that she'd be gone for a few days again and she knew he wanted to ask why she kept disappearing but didn't quite know how to form the words. Aurora had skillfully dodged the questions up until now.
She had returned from the latest mission with her arm sliced open, shoulder to wrist. She'd crudely bandaged it up but it needed to be properly cleaned and stitched up, something she'd have to do without waking the mute halfbreed. Although Chance certainly seemed to want Celestine up.
"Shut up you goddamn featherbrain," she said, glaring at the animal shifter as she dropped her bag and stripped off her shirt, making her way into the kitchen and lighting a few candles to see by. It was night time and she tried to keep her movements quiet, despite Chance's shrieking.
She glared and splashed water at him as she cleaned her arm with water she had put in a bowl. "I swear to whatever god is listening if you don't shut up, I'm going to kill you," she said, leveling a firm gaze at the animal shifter who promptly decided that silence was better.
Besides, he'd undoubtedly woken the halfbreed with the racked he'd made.

Night is not for the restless. The mute half breed had woken up long before Aurora had entered the house. He had a feeling that she would be coming home soon and did not want to miss when she came home. He had missed her terribly and had tried to count down the hours.
The door opening and closing was what made Celestine get out of bed and stepped out of his room. He heard the animal shifter shrieking, and then Aurora scorning the animal. The half breed made his way down the steps, quietly. The smell of blood suddenly met him, and he knew that Aurora had gotten hurt. Worry instantly crossed over his features, and he quickly went into the kitchen after her.
Celestine looked to the angelic, worried and confused. He was unsure of how to handle her cleaning her arm off until he truly saw the damage. The mute stepped forward quickly, wanting to help Aurora.

Aurora looked up at Celestine, watching him with guarded eyes as she shook her head. "Go back to sleep, Celestine," she said as she dropped her eyes to look back at her arm. "I can handle this on my own," she said. She didn't really know how he would take her profession, probably scaring him off and forcing him to leave.
She sighed as she removed the rest of the bandage, blue eyes hardening as they narrowed, taking in the full extent of the wound. It was cutting into a bit of the muscle at the shoulder and grew more shallow as it went lower, thankfully missing anything vital. She bit her lower lip as she dipped a clean rag into the water and gently cleaned the wound, ignoring the slight twinges of pain.

Night is not for the restless. Celestine did not listen to Aurora. He stepped forward, taking the rag from her hand and cleaning off her wound. He wanted to help her, so he would. He didn’t even care if she protested or not. It was the least thing she could allow him to do.
The half breed had become rather skilled at cleaning wounds and stitching them up. He had taken care of all of his and Cecilia’s wounds as they had grown up. This was no problem at all for him. Celestine did not doubt Aurora’s abilities to clean up her own wounds, but this was something he wanted to do. If he did it, his worry for her calm down a bit.

Aurora sighed and gave up, dropping her uninjured had to her side as she watched his hands clean her arm. The angelic shifted slightly on her feet before hooking a chair with her feet and sitting down, gesturing for Celestine to do the same. She wasn't planning on bringing it up unless he 'asked' her about it, then she knew that she couldn't dodge the question anymore.
She chewed on her lower lip as Chance hopped on the table, chirping and making noises, as if he were telling Aurora to confess and telling Celestine to ask the angelic about the injury.

Night is not for the restless. Celestine made quick work of cleaning up Aurora’s arm. He then moved on to start stitching the wound up. His hands moved with precision and swiftness even in this lighting.
He was debating whether or not he wanted to directly ask the angelic how she had gotten so injured. He wanted to know, yes, but something was telling him that if he found out he would probably not allow her to leave the house anymore. Celestine did not want to see Aurora hurt again. Not at all. He did not want to be stitching her up anymore. He wanted this to be the first and last time.
The half breed finished with the stitches before wrapping up the angelic’s arm.

Aurora didn't make a sound when he stitched up her arm, hardly even moving or flinching from each prick of the needle. She sighed, finally dropping her gaze to the floor as he bandaged her arm and swatted at Chance with an idle hand. She ran her free hand through her hair, pushing it back and off her shoulders, tugging out the braid it had been in so it spilled freely down her back and shoulders, hiding her face.
The angelic wasn't ashamed of being an Assassin, but it certainly made things hard when she wanted companionship. Too many people were scared she'd turn on them and even more wanted to give her over to people offering money.

Night is not for the restless. The mute finished wrapping Aurora’s arm. His hands moved away from her before he leaned over and kissed her cheek. With that, he stood up away from the table and away from the angelic. He ran a hand through her hair and gave a slight smile.
Celestine was happy to know that she was alright. That was what mattered to him. The wound would heal and Aurora would be fine. He almost did not care where the cut had come from.
He looked down at her, smiling still. He leaned back down, kissing her lips gently.

Aurora was slightly startled by the kiss, but kissed him back, her uninjured hand coming up to slide through his hair as she gave him her own hesitant if happy smile. "I'm sorry if I worried you," she said softly as she drew back from the kiss, blue eyes seeming to be searching his face, as if trying to read his thoughts.
She was still dressed with her weapons on her hips and in pouches on her legs, giving a slight clue to her profession, as well as the tattoo that was on her uninjured arm. She was partially surprised that the half breed hadn't recognized it but she couldn't help it.

Night is not for the restless. He ran his hand through her hair once more, leaning down and kissing her a bit deeper. He wanted to let her know how much he truly loved her. She did not have to tell him how she had gotten injured. He wanted her to be comfortable, and if she had something to tell him she could take her time.
Celestine moved around Aurora and toward the doorway of the kitchen. He paused, looking back to the angelic for any reaction. He was hoping that she was just going to go to bed.

Aurora responded to the kiss, knowing what he wanted to tell her instinctively. She loved him as well and knew that she should probably tell him, but at the moment, her body just wanted sleep. She stripped off her weapons and placed them on the kitchen table to be cleaned later before she sighed and dumped the bowl out, setting the rag in it to be disposed of later before she followed Celestine out of the kitchen.
"Yeah, I'm going to bed," she said with a tired smile as she looked up at him. "Sorry to have woken you," she said softly as she moved past him to head upstairs to her bed.

Night is not for the restless. Celestine watched Aurora move passed him. He did not want her to just rush off to sleep quite yet. He knew she needed sleep, and he wanted her to sleep. Yet, he wanted to give her a proper good night. The half breed hit his knuckles lightly on the railing of the stairs before quickly going up after the angelic.
When the mute reached her, he took hold of her good arm and moved her to him. He leaned down against her, kissing her lips deeply. His arms slipped around her half tempted to just not allow her to leave his embrace anymore. Hell, he was half tempted to follow her to bed.

Aurora was caught a bit off guard by the suddenness of his actions as well as the intensity behind them. The angelic responded to the kiss, letting her fingers twine in the fabric of his shirt as she kissed him back, holding him to her as much as he was holding her to him. She ran her fingers through his hair before breaking the kiss, her cheeks barely flushed and her lips reddened from the kiss.
Blue eyes looked at the mute half breed as she gently brushed some hair out of his face before speaking. "If you want, you can sleep in my bed," she offered, as sort of a peace offering.

Night is not for the restless. The half breed nodded his head slightly. He would really like to hold her to him for as long as possible, and perhaps she would allow that if he slept beside her. He loved her and cared for her dearly, and the injury still concerned him.
Celestine smiled a bit before kissing Aurora once more. He slipped into her room, leading her in with him. He made his way over to her bed, sitting down as his eyes looked back to the angelic to watch her movements as she prepared to get into bed as well.

Aurora sighed and changed quickly, pulling on loose, comfortable clothes, careful not to move her arm too much and rip out the stitches. She sighed as she sat down on the bed on the opposite side from Celestine and ran her hand through her hair, before laying back on the bed and looking over at him.
"Go ahead and ask," she said, knowing he wanted to know. She'd tell him and she wouldn't lie if she could help it, keeping him safe was her first priority. If he didn't ask, then she wouldn't tell, that was the way she operated.

Night is not for the restless. Celestine let out a sigh as he laid close to Aurora. His eyes surveyed her face before his fingers gently stroked her cheek. He wanted to know, yes, but he did not want to pry. It was the angelic’s business if she wanted him to know or not.
The half breed kissed her lips gently, watching her. If she wanted to tell him, she could. He knew that there would be curiosity in his eyes. He knew she would see it. He did want to know, but he did not want to pressure her.

Aurora shifted slightly, her eyes dropping to the side as she chewed her lip. She seemed to have reached a decision and sighed, gently moving Celestine's hand from her face before sitting up and draping her arms over her knees. She seemed to stare at the wall in front of her before speaking, as if the wall had all the answers.
"There are few reasons one is as good with all the weapons as I am," she said softly, staring into the darkness across from her, still not looking at Celestine. "One is you are a warrior, one is you are a mercenary and the last is because I am a Master Assassin," she said, unsure of how he would take that.

Night is not for the restless. Was that all? Aurora was a master assassin. For whatever reason, Celestine had been dreading the worst reason imaginable (which even he was unsure of what the worst reason imaginable was). Her being an assassin did explain a lot, really. It would explain why she had to go away for a few days at a time. It would also explain her mastery in weaponry.
Celestine sat up, kissing her lips gently and wrapping an arm around her. He could deal with her being an assassin. He would have to. The half breed loved the angelic way too much to have something like that get in the way of his emotions.

Aurora was startled by his reaction, but also relieved that he wasn't getting upset and having hysterics. She was also slightly worried that he'd want to learn her trade, but she would refuse to teach him if he ever asked. She sent him a soft, wavery smile that showed the extent of her relief before she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him once out of pure happiness.
She pulled away and paused for a moment before coming back and giving him a deeper kiss, one that expressed just how much she loved him. She let her hands move through his hair before tracing down his back, finger tips light.

Night is not for the restless. Celestine smiled a bit, kissing Aurora once more. He moved back after a moment, looking down at her with adoring eyes. He could not stop her from being an assassin, and he knew that instantly. He just wanted her to be safe. That was all. He did not like seeing her blood. He did not like the thought of her getting fatally injured.
The half breed kissed her again before laying back down against the bed and relaxing beneath the covers. His eyes gazed up at her, waiting for her to lay down beside him.
