Why would you leave? It was morning when the discovery was made. There was a wave of panic in which the windows blew open violently with a strong gust of wind. Then, there was the realization that she had left. Then, there was confusion.
This particular morning, Celestine had woken up in the inn completely alone. His sister was nowhere to be found. Not in the room, not in the lobby, not in the kitchen. He could not find her, and this brought on his panic and his upset.
The half breed was now running through the streets of Temarra, trying desperately to find his blind sister. His mind was racing. He really did not know where to look for her. He did not know where she could have possibly gone. Celestine just wanted to find her and to find her without harm.
The boy was still in a panic. He was having a hard time accepting that she would leave the inn without waking him or simply leaving the inn without him. His thoughts were going back to the day before when she had wanted him to go off on his own and start his own life. He knew that was why she had left without a word, but he needed to find her. He needed her to be safe.
Without watching where he was going, Celestine ran into someone, causing both of them to fall to the street. He got up quickly, wanting to apologize, but of course he could not. The man he had caused to fall to the ground was quickly on his feet, yelling at the half breed.

"Hey! Leave the kid alone!"
No matter how many times she saw it, always made her angry when someone yelled at a kid for some stupid mistake. It especially made her angry when they wouldn't give them the time to respond, as it appeared to be happening now. Ro was beside them in seconds.
Blue eyes glared up at the man, hands on her hips in a show of haughty displeasure. "All he did was run into you, you fool. It's not like he tried to make off with your money or anything," she snapped, looking up at him imperiously. "He's just a kid, so cut him some slack."

Why would you leave? Celestine was taken aback by the sudden stranger who was now sticking up for him. The man was also a bit surprised as well, but he backed off after he looked at the girl’s displeasure in his action. He decided it was best to just walk away from all of it.
The half breed ran a hand through his hair as observed this girl. He gave somewhat of an apologetic look to her before giving a slight smile in thanks. He tried as much as possible to convey his thoughts and emotions through his eyes and his facial features. He really did not have any better method of explaining things to people.
Celestine was really grateful that someone would stick up for him, but his thought were quickly back to finding his sister.

"Hold it there Sparky! Let me see if you're okay," the blonde said once she'd noticed he was about to flee. She wrapped the end of a bag of gold around her belt, tying it off to keep it from falling. A little parting gift from the jerk who'd sauntered off, but he needn't know that. "That was quite the tumble after all."
She didn't wait for him to answer before frisking him for damage. Ro didn't particularly care if it made him uncormfortable, if the man was stilla round later and decided he wanted to finish what he had started, then the boy would need to be tip top in order to escape. He looked kind of wimpy to her.

Why would you leave? The half breed watched the human with eyes of bewilderment as she checked to make sure that he was not injured. He was not use to so much touching from someone he did not know at all. A complete stranger to him.
Celestine stepped back a bit, eyes gazing over this girl. He may not have looked it, but he was rather strong compared to most. He could handle a little fall to the ground. He could have even handled the man who had just been yelling at him.
This distraction was keeping Celestine from looking for his sister Cecilia, and that fact somewhat annoyed him.

She noticed the annoyance the minute he stepped away from her touch. Her face warmed instantly. "Ah, sorry, I'm keeping you from something important aren't I?" It wasn't an actual question as she was accusing herself of being rude. But it was weird that he wasn't speaking up to answer her anyway; when the guy from before had been screaming at him, she'd figured he was too surprised to speak, but now he wasn't even telling her to hit the road. How weird.
"Hey, how come you aren't answering? Cat got your tongue or something?"

Why would you leave? Celestine thought for a moment as he tried to figure out how to tell her that he could not speak. He usually did not have this problem, since people tended to not talk to him at all. When he had needed to tell someone he could not speak, his sister had always been there. Cecilia was usually the one who would explain to people that Celestine could not speak, and that he had never uttered a word.
He shook his head slightly in response to the girl’s question. He gestured to his throat before mouthing ‘I can’t talk’. Celestine was glad that he paid attention to how people formed words. It was almost like an obsession with him. He was constantly watching the way people said certain words and how their mouths looked when they talked.

Her eyes widened for a second before narrowing. "If you can't talk, how on earth do you expect to do whatever it is you seem to be in a hurry to get to? What if you need directions or something?" she asked, posing valid questions to the boy. She didn't know why he was really in such a hurry, but it had to be big if he looked so panicked. "How about I help you out then? I'll even do it for free. Just tell what you're trying to do and I'll do all the talking. Wait, how can you you tell me if you can't speak?"
Ro scrached her head for a while before brightening. She dug hrough her satchel for a few moments before pulling out what could have been an etch-a-sketch were it not for the fact that it reaked of magic. "I just got this from my last job, so you can use it to write," she said, indicating a pen dangling from one of it's corners.

Why would you leave? The half breed ran his hand through his hair again, a bit nervous and embarrassed. His cheeks reddened slightly at his embarrassment as well. Celestine was not that good at writing. His education was very limited. He was not dumb, no he was rather clever.
Celestine shook his head slightly as he looked at the pen. He knew he would have a rather difficult time writing out what he was looking for, especially now that he was panic stricken and was having a hard time thinking. His mind was pretty much one track at the moment. He just wanted to find his sister.

"You can use it to draw what you're after too, you know," Ro indicated with raised brows. "I'm no Picasso myself, so I won't judge." It was plain from the look on his face that he didn't have much experience writing, but that was okay; neither did she. She could read really well at least, but her writing always came out as unintelligable and as chicken scratch, which either illicited confusion of pity from those who were better at it then her.
There was something else about his expression that bothered her. "You're looking for someone aren't you?" she asked finally; no one looked that terrified about being late somewhere.

Why would you leave? Celestine nodded his head at the girl’s question. A pained expression crossed over his face as he looked away from her. He did not know how to even get help from anyone. He was grateful for the girl’s offer, but he could not talk nor explain who he was looking for.
The half breed let out a sigh, sadness slipping over his facial features once more. He just wanted to find Cecilia, and he felt absolutely worthless. He wanted to hold his sister close and know that she was alright.
He let out a sigh, quickly starting to look around him once more with a slight hope of his sister simply appearing upon the street.

Ro replaced the item in her bag when it seemed he wasn't going to take it; well, she'd tried. "Judging from your expression, this person is very important. Probably a girlfriend or relative," she guessed before becoming thoughtful.
There was only one person who could help them right now, and loath as she was to call on him, there was little choice. Especially when the kid was mute as a rock and had the attention span of a fly right now. "Morpheus," she said under her breath. "I could really use a hand right now."
God help her, but the djinn was their best bet right now.

Finding where the girl was, he appeared on the street as he walked to them, arching an eyebrow at the girl and the new boy. He could tell what was wrong and at the moment knew that Ro had gotten into another situation where she wanted to help and didn't know what to do.
He walked towards them, more like he'd been there all along before stopping next to the thief, eyes taking in the boy that Ro so obviously wanted to help. "What do you need?" he asked, directing the question at Ro but keeping a wary watch on the boy.
As much as the djinn liked to appear in a dramatic style, the last thing he needed was for people to come after the girl and have her give up his true name, so a much more subtle approach took over. He was fully dressed this time, even the shoes that he was loath to wear upon his feet.

Why would you leave? The half breed looked upon the two of them with wide eyes, a bit confused. That was all he needed another person to realize how hopeless he really was. Celestine looked away from the two. They obviously were well acquainted with each other, making him feel more like the stranger than before.
He let out a sigh, eyes scanning over the crowd of people. He knew his sister would not be there in the street, but he had his hopes. He really did not know where she could have gotten off to. She could not see, and he had always led her around.

"Sparky here is looking for someone, but we can't figure out where they might have gone to," she explained, deciding it was best not to allude to his inability to speak. He looked hopeless enough with the two of them there, no need to add anymore to the proverbial dark cloud above his head. "You can read minds, right? Could you look into his and figure out what his missing someone looks like and where they might have gone?"
It already felt like a deal with the devil, but she figured he'd tease her about her bleeding heart later when the boy was gone.

The djinn gave her a flat look that clearly said what she'd asked him was ridiculous. Raising a hand, he placed it on the boy's forehead before letting his dark eyes flash for a moment. When he pulled his hand back, he had a thoughtful look on his face as he regarded the boy.
"He's looking for his sister, who is blind," he said as he watched the boy. "And it seems they were born the way they were," he continued, arching an eyebrow. "So she's blind, smaller than he is and had blonde hair and pale blue eyes that are completely useless. Somehow, I have the feeling that she's not as helpless as you may think, Celestine," he said, after pulling the boy's name from his mind.
Tilting his head back, he scanned the sky for Crow and sent a silent message to the bird to convey what they were looking for. The bird took off, performing a sweeping search of the city before coming back to the djinn, shaking his head.
"She's not in the city, so you're wasting your time here," the djinn said thoughtfully. "This would go a lot faster if you could speak, but since you were born this way, there is only so much I can do. Pity it wasn't an injury, then I could completely heal you. Oh well," he said as he stepped forward and place a hand around the boy's throat.
It was a firm grip and Morpheus' hand glowed a slight blue and magick rose around him as he performed. When the blue receded, he frowned and shook his head. "This is a temporary voice Celestine. The only people who can hear you are Ro, myself you can call me Jarlaxle, yourself and your sister," he said in explanation.

Why would you leave? Celestine had watched the two as they conversed, and then as this new stranger started talking about things personal to the half breed. He really did not like how easily it was for this one to take information from his mind.
When the newcomer placed his hand around Celestine’s throat, he could not help but panic slightly. It was a rather unexpected gesture, and Celestine had to wrap his hand around this stranger’s wrist. When he had finally taken his hand away from the half breed’s throat, Celestine quickly stepped away.
The half breed listened to this Jarlaxle’s explanation, hardly believing that he could talk now. Celestine’s eyes narrowed slightly as he observed these two before slowly deciding to give talking a try.
His words came out of his mouth in jumble as if they had been water flowing from the boy’s mouth. He had to pause, realizing he was simply saying whatever word came to mind. His eyes widened as he looked at Ro and then to Jarlaxle.
“What… I… Why… How…”
Celestine ran a hand through his hair, trying to get his thoughts to relate to what was coming out of his mouth. His voice was rather handsome, though, but to him it seemed really alien. At the moment, he seemed to have no control of the tone of his voice.
“Cecilia!” Celestine quickly started looking around before remembering what Jarlaxle had just told him. “I… have to find her,” he said, the volume of his voice going up and down.

Ro caught him by the wrist and brushed a few strands of hair from his soothingly. "Calm yourself," she urged. "You'll work yourself into a tizzy and then what use will you be to her?" She looked at him with raised brows as if amused by his reaction, but in reality she was just as worried for him as this mysterious sister of his. "Now...Did she say anything specific before she disappeared? Where she might like to go or if there was a specific direction she would rather be heading in? Anything could be helpful, no matter how small."
She hadn't been too pleased when Morpheus had suddenly grabbed the poor boy by the throat, but she'd give him a tongue lashing later about warning people before 'lending them his assistance'. It was one thing announce it, and another to just do it. Progress would be made later.

The djinn arched an eyebrow at the two of them, already rather bored with the situation. Crow perched on his shoulder comfortably, watching the two interacting while the djinn pretended to be, well actually was, rather disinterested. All the time someone was disappearing, he didn't see why Ro had to get caught up in all of this.
He pretended to examine his nails, all the while having a talk with the bird perched on his shoulder that neither of the other two got. It wasn't like he cared about his actions, he had helped well been forced, to build this city from the ground up. The least the damn people who were here could do is be grateful for it.

Why would you leave? “She didn’t say anything. She simply left. Without a trace. I have no idea where she could have gone. She said nothing to me. Just left without a word,” Celestine rambled off quickly. He seemed to be having somewhat of a hard time understand how to really talk. Of course, what was to be expected? He had never had a voice before and getting use to such a thing would take some time.
“I do not know where she could have gone. She can’t see. She’s never been left alone. She’s never went off on a journey on her own. I don’t know where she could have gone.”
The half breed was getting upset the more he talked. He could not even take enjoyment out of being able to talk. The words that reached his ears just made him more upset. He stepped back from the two before just sitting down on the street, trying to get his head straight.
