And when you stabbed me, I bled black. The mute gave a slight nod of his head, understanding that completely. Celestine let his thoughts wander for a long moment as he slowly took the last bite out of his food. He already knew what he would want her to teach him first, and that would be how to use the sword.
The half breed stood up, stretching slightly. He pointed to the sword on his hip, indicating what he was really interested in learning first. Reading and writing, he decided, would probably be harder for him to learn.

Aurora grinned, shaking her head in amusement before she stood as well. "Alright, but leave that one inside. I have practice ones that we'll use," she said as she stood as well, pulling her hair back into a tight braid that would stay out of the way.
"We'll start with the basic, boring stuff first then we'll move on to the more interesting stuff," she said as she brushed by him and out the door back into the training area in the back of the house.
It was carved into the mountain, affording her some privacy but it was still well lit, even when night fell because of a few magickal tokens that she'd been given or stolen during her various jobs. Striding over to what seemed like a pile of various weapons, she fished through it before pulling out two training swords.
"These are going to be heavier and blunted so you don't accidentally cut your hand off or my hand off. They're heavier so you get used to holding it for long periods of time and can hold proper form with a real sword," she said as she handed one over to him.
"When you get tired, let me know and we'll catch a break in the beginning but once we start moving on to the harder stuff, it will be at my discretion and you'll have to push through it, alright?" she said as she fixed him with a keen eye.

And when you stabbed me, I bled black. Celestine took off his sword slowly, setting it down on the table before going outside after Aurora. He let out a breath, listening to everything she had to tell him. He gave a slight nod of his head, letting her know that he understood.
The half breed took the training sword, weighing it in his hand for a moment and taking in how heavy it really was. His eyes turned back to Aurora waiting for her to give him further instruction. He was quite ready to start training. He had always been ready for such a thing. Celestine was almost even a bit nervous and anxious.

Aurora grinned, shaking her head as she toyed with her sword, thinking about how to go about doing this. "Alright, first order of business is you're going to forget any and everything you think you know about using a sword. We're starting from step one."
She tossed her braid over her shoulder before coming over to stand next to Celestine, adjusting his grip on the sword. "Hold it like this so you don't get it knocked out of your hand," she said, beginning what were probably going to be the most intense lessons the halfbreed had ever come across.
It was noon before they finally stopped for lunch and Aurora was covered in a thin sheen of sweat and a few bruises where she'd been helping Celestine swing the sword and figure out what was comfortable for him, but still in the range of being a good swordsman. She had a happy smile on her face as she led him back to the house.
"We'll pick it up again after lunch and I'll start teaching you some basic blocks and parries as well as a few attacks. You'll need more defense than offense and if you can disarm your opponent, you'll win."

And when you stabbed me, I bled black. The mute was grateful to take a break from training, already. He needed lunch desperately, his body feeling as though it was already out of fuel. His strength was not even close to that of Aurora’s. Celestine had a lot to learn still and a lot of energy to build up within him.
He sat down at the table, closing his eyes before placing an arm over them. He let out a breath, enjoying how it felt to relax his limbs for a long moment. The half breed was almost wanting to be done for the day, but knew that if he just stopped it would be weak of him.

Aurora chuckled and ran a hand through his hair as she passed, messing it up just slightly. "Don't worry, you'll feel worse tomorrow," she said with a bright grin. "And we haven't even gotten to the hard stuff yet," she chirped as she got some food together and placed a dish down in front of Celestine.
"So eat up, rest for a bit then you'll go through some stretches," she said as she sat at the table and ate her part, feeding Chance as well. The eagle took several bites from her with his beak before changing into a raccoon and using the little hands he had to better eat the food, occasionally chirping at them both.

And when you stabbed me, I bled black. Celestine started to eat from the dish that had been sat down in front of him. He was suddenly hoping that writing and reading would not be that hard. At least, not as hard as learning how to use a sword.
The half breed soon had his plate completely cleaned and was leaning back against his chair. He knew that by tonight he would be completely exhausted and completely grateful for a bed beneath him. He ran a hand through his hair, gazing over at Aurora and her animal shifter Chance.

"Hey don't give me that look," she said, pointing a finger at Celestine. "You wanted to learn how to use a sword, and I'm going to teach you, so hush up and suck it up," she said with a laugh as Chance swatted at her with his tiny paws.
Aurora turned and stuck her tongue out at the animal shifter who promptly returned the gesture. The two of them had an interesting relationship, to say the least. Chance seemed to take it rather well, deciding then to scurry down off the table and go find somewhere to nap.
"So back out we go?" she asked as she redirected her attention to Celestine.

And when you stabbed me, I bled black. The half breed let out a sigh as he observed Aurora once more. He didn’t even have to say anything to have people tell him to hush up. He was wandering now what would happen if he did get a permanent voice. Would people be tying up his mouth to make sure he wouldn’t talk anymore?
Celestine stood up and stretched his back a bit. He was hoping that this training session would not last too long. He wanted to learn, yes, but he would have to get use to the conditions he was now given.

Aurora laughed, reaching up and ruffling his hair as she passed by him back outside. "Don't worry, we'll only take a few hours then I'll let you get used to what it's going to feel like for a few weeks," she said brightly as they headed back outside.
Truthfully her muscles were starting to ache as well. He was strong, that much was given and he didn't know to check his strength but she'd have to teach him that too when they got around to actually fighting one on one against each other.
Handing him his sword, she spent the next few hours teaching him to parry and block, focusing more on defensive than offensive until she finally decided they'd had enough.
"Go, take a bath and take your time, then get something to eat. I'm going into town to get a few things, so do whatever you please except burn my house down and play with the little knick knacks I have around," she said with a bright laugh as she leaned up and kissed his cheek, snickering at his expression.

And when you stabbed me, I bled black. Celestine just stared at Aurora for a long moment, not believing that she had just kissed his cheek. He really did not know how to take the gesture either. No one had ever kissed his cheek except for his sister Cecilia. Now, he had Aurora kissing his cheek and laughing at his expression.
He shook his head slightly before turning and going into the house to go off to his bath. A bath sounded like a wonderful idea at the moment. He was quite sweaty and smelly. He was unsure of how Aurora could handle such a dirty half breed.

Aurora smiled, shaking her head in amusement as she watched him walk off, setting down to clean the practice swords and stretch out her muscles. "He's cute, I'll give him that but he's also strong," she said, seeing the animal shifter emerge in the guise of a ferret this time.
"We have a ways to go," she said with a sigh as she stretched out several spots that were hit particularly hard. She'd have bruises and wouldn't bother healing those since they'd go away in a few days. "C'mon, Chance. Let's go get some gear," she said as she stood, wings sprouting out of her back as she took off in a golden blur.
The eagle changed to keep up, both of them racing around the town while they got their chores done before coming back. Aurora settled down in front of the house, tucking her wings in but not making them disappear yet as she entered through the door and put the stuff in a corner for now.
She headed off into the kitchen, tugging her hair out as she went about getting food.

And when you stabbed me, I bled black. The mute had been relaxing in his room for a little while before Aurora had came back home. He was now all cleaning and smelling pretty good. He hadn’t eaten, yet, and he figured now would be the best time.
Celestine made his way back downstairs to the kitchen where he knew he would find the angelic. He entered the room, walking over to the table and sitting down. His eyes fell upon Aurora, and he watched her go about her business. Of course, there wasn’t much else he could do. He couldn’t really talk to her.

Aurora turned, tilting her head to the side as she let her wings disappear in a flash of gold light. "So I have some basic armor that you're going to need to learn to use," she said with a smile. "And food is basically whatever you feel like fixing. I'm hardly home enough to actually make decent meals anymore, so it's rare for me to actually have guests, as you could probably tell," she said, talking as if he were responding.
She set some food down on the table in front of him, fixing a smaller plate for Chance who resumed a raccoon form to eat the food, watching the two of them interact. "So help yourself," she said as she sat down with her own food.

And when you stabbed me, I bled black. Celestine nodded a bit, making a plate for himself. He started eating. He was enjoying the consistency of things at the moment. He had barely had a meal daily, to now have breakfast, lunch, and dinner was something extraordinary to the mute. He was almost afraid that he was going to overeat.
The half breed wanted to thank Aurora quite a bit. She had given him so very much already, and he couldn’t even utter a word of thanks. There had to be some way for him to show his appreciation. Just some sort of way, and he was hell bent on finding it.

"Oi, don't worry about thanking me and all that," she said as she wrinkled her nose. "I have to go away for a few days next week and you can thank me by watching the house if you wanna stay that long," she said with a giggled as she pushed her hair off her shoulders and continued to eat.
"I can't take Chance with me and he gets lonely when he's left alone," she said with a shrug. "And he'll be able to show you when you're not doing exercises properly with the sword. He's got good aim with a pine cone," she said as Chance took that moment to promptly pelt her with a piece of cheese.
Aurora started and turned an eye back on the animal shifter. "Your hide is mine," she said as she threw the piece back at Chance, him ducking and scattering up to sit on Celestine's head as a chipmunk.
"No fair," Aurora whined, sulking in her chair as she pouted.

And when you stabbed me, I bled black. The half breed could deal with staying in the house for that long. He really had nowhere to go. Celestine was somewhat hoping that Aurora would start to understand that. It was quite obvious that he had no money of his own. No food. No water. No home. He felt quite lucky to run into the angelic, though.
He could handle staying in her house with Chance for a while. That would be no problem to the mute. He was starting to actually like the little creature and all of his forms.

"Anywho," she said as she straightened up again, looking at Celestine with a keen eye. "You're more than welcome to stay here for as long as you want to, just don't destroy my house," she said with a laugh as she stuck her tongue out at the tiny chipmunk resting on Celestine's shoulder.
"So I would suggest that you stretch out before you go to bed and stretch when you get up in the morning," she said with a smile. "You'll be pretty sore tomorrow, but you're gonna have to work through that, Celestine," she said before standing from the table and stretching.
Giving out a slight yawn, she shook her head. "I'm heading off to sleep, so you're welcome to do as you see fit," she said as she leaned over and kissed his cheek again. "Night Celestine," she chirped before going to head out of the kitchen and upstairs.

And when you stabbed me, I bled black. Celestine raised an eyebrow as he watched Aurora go off to bed. He let out a slow sigh before looking over to Chance who was now sitting upon his shoulder. The half breed just let out a breath, standing up from the table. He decided it was probably best to just go off to bed now. There really was no reason to be awake still, not to mention he was rather tired from training all day.
He left the kitchen and went up to the room that he was staying in. After a little while, he was in bed and sound asleep.

Aurora was up early again, but this time she wasn't training, she was packing a small bag to go out. She'd gotten a mission that would take her no more than a few days at most and full expected to be back by the end of the week. She also had to pick up a few things so she could teach Celestine to read and write.
Stretching her arms above her head, she closed the bag and flung it over one shoulder as she strode from her room, heading down the stairs with silent steps. She entered the kitchen and saw Chance there, giving her an expectant look. She smiled lightly and stepped over to stroke his feathered head before moving off to get some food before she left.
She'd told Celestine she'd be gone before dawn and she was cutting it close even now. Sighing, she set her bag down so she could pull her hair back in a tight braid, heading into the living room to gather a few trinkets and some of the rings to help her do her mission before she grabbed her bag again to leave.
