Lily laughed along with the men that surrounded the Baisky Tavern bar. Each of them wove their tales of how their "oh-so-stressful" day went. Meanwhile, Lily, being a barmaid for the past few days here, served the various occupants that entered the bar. Most of them were men. She could practically feel the lustful gazes follow her as she traveled from table to table. If those men ever tried anything they would soon be sorely disappointed, Lily would kick their butt straight to hell. Or make them a quick snack.
Suddenly a small man rose his mug of beer to the air, looking to Lily, "Oi, Lil Lily, sing us a song will you." The surrounding people cheered and urged her to sing. A song from Lily could calm every the wiliest of people.
Lily happily compiled. After all, that was her area of expertize. She jumped onto the stage and rummaged through her brain for a pleasant song to sing. She tucked a strand of dark black hair behind her ear and looked out into the crowd, a song in mind. Smiling, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"Dreaming of the stars on high, That speak to me in secret sighs, Drifting on a breeze, Only I can feel and hear...." She sung softly. She opened her eyes, they were the color of deep sea water. "Could it be the sacred wind, That`s calling me to now begin, To walk into the dark, Copying the light of tomorrow..."

One of the patrons was not like the rest. He was dark, sitting in a corner and nearly unnoticeable unless you looked right at him. Morpheus was there, his customary open shirt and dark pants showing his body to perfection, attracting appreciative glances from both males and females alike. The djinn, however, took no notice, seeing as he was only on this plane for a short amount of time.
His usual companion was not perched on his shoulder, nor was Crow on the chair back near him. The unusual bird was perched in the rafters above, sleeping and restoring his energy from the minor skirmish they had encountered outside the city's perimeter. The djinn had casually torn the attackers to pieces with a wave of his hand, but the bird had not fared so well. Crow had been hit first and that was what had prompted the djinn's violent actions.
Morpheus was here now in the tavern, knowing their attackers would not be discovered until daylight and by then he planned to be well off this plane, but first it would amuse him to see what was so special in this city, now that it had grown up over the years.

"Beating of the wings up high beyond the earth, beyond the sky..." She continued to sing softly but her voice soon grew a bit stronger, louder."Come now, don't hesitate don't look back we got to go now..." The song was meant to calm her customers, specifically those who were wandering travelers, weak and weary from their journey. Her voice soothing and so delicately soft. "Don't fear, you'll be safe from now on, morning sky watching over all..."
The phoenix eyed the bird perched high above, but remained in its spot by the bar. It felt the smallest of urges to help heal the bird though quickly shoved that thought away. It craned its neck to get a better view of its master. The animal shifter, in the form of a cat, glanced up at the phoenix before curling up into a ball and falling asleep.
Lily took a glance around the tavern, hoping every one was enjoying themselves by means of her voice or the bar's many drinks. But one man stood out. He seemed a bit dark and violent looking. She wished he would just smile and enjoy himself a little. It was a bar for goodness's sake, the whole point of one was to have a good time, no? She looked away from the man and finished up her song.

The Crow cawed once, it's voice discernible only to the djinn who cracked a grin in agreement with the toothy bird. The ancient djinn ordered a drink from one of the girls, flashing her a disarming smile as she scurried off to get the useless drink, her face flushed from the order by the attractive man.
Morpheus turned his attention back to the vampire as she finished the song, remembering Crow's attention to the companions she had. A phoenix and an animal shifter were no big matter to him, dependent upon age. The only truly irritating thing was that phoenixes never died but could be incapacitated for a while.
Leaning back in his chair, he balanced it on two legs as he neatly propped one ankle on his opposite knee and steepled his fingers together in front of his face, watching the patrons mingle.

A burst of applause resonated from the various patrons. A faint tint of pink colored Lily's face as she grinned a fangy smile to them. She gracefully jumped down from the stage. Then quickly she made her way back to the bar, where she belonged in the first place.
The people resumed their drunken conversation, enjoying themselves for the night.
"He's so dark, and mysterious." A young barmaid gushed as she filled a mug. Lily shook her head. Children these days, did they not have better things to think of than someone's outer beauty? "But he'd have nothing to do with such a little girl like you." A bar man mused to which the young girl hmphed in anger before turning to deliver the man his drink.
Lily laughed quietly. She leaned against the bar, waiting for her shift to end. The fiery phoenix left its place to sit on her shoulder. She smiled, loving the glowing warmth than came from the bird.

Another job well done kellen," the dwarf said and took the dragon scales. “They were easy to come by, but why meet me here?" kellen asked looking across the street at the bar. He all ways liked a good drink but he was paranoid." no reason. It was close," the dwarf said and looked into the jar more closely. “Good quality, now I leave you with this," the dwarf said and tossed him a bag of gold, and left. Kellen take a look inside and saw the money there, and smiled. “good it here, and now I think I will get a drink," and with that he crossed the street into the bar. “well, at least the music is good;" he thought and looked up at the vampire. “if I was on a business trip, but na," kellen though and walked up to the bar. “one beer please," he asked a bar maid and passed a piece of gold over the counter. Kellen sat down in one of the seat and watched the vampire. “she is good, but no my type," he thought and saw his beer arrive." thank," he said and tossed her another gold piece. Kellen got up and walked over to one of the booths in the corner. “Well, average crowd. The stressed, the lusted, and the stupid,” kellen thought and chuckled into his beer, spilling it over his shirt. “Darn,” kellen said and wiped it off with a napkin on the table. As he looked up, he saw on strange character in another booth and felt a shiver going down his spine.” He is not stressed, lusted, or stupid,” he thought and put the napkin down and looked away. “Ok, he is freaky,” he thought and picked up his beer again and gave a sip. Kellen had a feeling he should keep a clear head now.

Lily's stomach began to growl. She sighed. If only it were just food that could satisfy her hunger. She licked her lips unknowingly as she scanned the chaotic bar for a snack. Her eyes were a dull crimson red, the hunger slowly growing.
Her gaze lingered on the dark man. For a few seconds. But no, he was something that should never be messed with. She sighed and continued her survey of bar patrons. A tan elf sitting nearby looked good enough to eat but something about him was a little off. She couldn't quite place her finger on it. It reminded her of her friend, Xiao. Was the tan elf a half something as well? No matter, the point was she wasn't going to sink her fangs into either of them.
A defeated sigh escaped her lips, none of these people had what she usually looked for in a snack. And that was saying something, even more when she was in a bar filled with idiotic, drunken people. Maybe she finally felt sorry for feeding on drunken, vulnerable men. Or maybe, since most who sat in here now were dwarfs, their small stature reminded her too much of children. Children were never a snack to her. She rested her head in her hands. Her stomach grumbled once again. But it would not be satisfied til much later.
Why couldn't they just come to her and offer themselves? It would make her feel much less guilty...

“well, at least my shirt doesn't look like it didn't have beer sloshed down the front of it," Kellen thought as he finished wiping the beer of his shirt. “and let’s not forget, miss hungry by the bar," Kellen thought as he looked up at the vampire at the bar. He caught her gaze leaving him and scanning the bar. Kellen instantly felt for his neck and thought," well, this bar has more to it than meets the eye, and that just made understatement of the year in my books," and Kellen took another swing of his beer.
Till he nearly choked on it as he saw the dwarf enters the bar and look around."Damn," Kellen thought as slid out of the booth. The dwarf must had figured out half of the scales were fake, and was pissed. “Well, this is not good," Kellen thought and slipped into a booth that hid him from view. "Oh, sorry for this, but I need a place to hid and this is the best for now," Kellen said as he slid into the booth with the guy with the open shirt." wait, what are you?" Kellen asked, curious because he could not tell what his guy was.
