The ocean was so soothing this early in the morning...
TINK!
One thousand two hundred....
TINK!
One thousand three hundred...
TINK!
One thousand fou-
The loud SQUAWK of an early sea gull interupted her thoughts and a shower of gold coins littered the beach as the blonde gave a startled jump. Looking up at the creature as it circled above with wide eyes, she quickly stored her coins back in the pouch from which she'd taken them. Sea gulls were notorious for stealing anything shiny, and the last thing Ro needed was for someone to steal last night's earnings.
After the bird saw that she had hidden her stash of 'shiny' somewhere he couldn't ge to, the gull flew off in search of some other unsuspecting victim, leaving her to sigh in relief.
Ro had been up all night pulling off a heist in town, but had been reluctant to return to her room upon see how close to dawn it was. So, deciding it would be fun to watch the sun rise, she had booked it over to the nearest beach and sat herself down. Now, even though the sun was already and hour or two into the sky, she sat just enjoying the early sea air, her notorious red cloak laid out beside her.
A delicious chill shot itself down her spine, and the blonde had to remove her gloves so that she could rub some warmth into her arms. She made a mental note to find something else to wear under her cloak other then the thin cotton tank top; Autumn would be sneaking up on them soon.

Zivon was out for an early morning swim to get his blood pumping. His shift wasn't till tonight so he had some time to kill. As he swam closer to the shoreline he popped his head over the water to see what was happening.
His eyes narrowed as he caught sight of something shiny. He then noticed a seagull flying around. Swimming closer he noticed a figure hurrying to pick up what looked like coins. He grinned when he noticed it was a female with blonde hair. He watched as she finished picking up the coins and put them away so the seagull wouldn't steal them.
She seemed to be alone and Zivon was getting excited. What should I do? he thought to himself as he eyed his next victim.

Meanwhile, Ro was busying trying to warm herself in the rising sun, stretching languidly to try and get the blood flowing in her limbs once more. I should do this a bit more often, she thought with a small smile, resting her chin in her hands as she watched the water lap at the shore. It was peaceful as opposed to her usually hectic and wild life, and even though seh enjoyed the constant moving she did, it was nice to just stop and enjoy herself sometimes.Maybe that way I won't have to deal with annoying Djinn and Half-breeds as much.
This thought on a scowl to replace the smile as she glared at the horizon.

Zivon dipped his head back under the water contemplating. He didn't feel like doing his usual luring, she wasn't really his type. Peeking back up over the water, he realized he was far out enough to where she didn't see him. A wild thought raced through his mind as head went back under and swan toward a rock.
Making sure he was on the side that wasn't facing her, he hoisted himself out of the water and sat down on the rock. Peeping over the edge he noticed she was still there.
Suddenly he threw himself back into the water, flailing about, pretending he was drowning. His arms waved wildly and he hollered a cry, "SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!"

Her head snapped in the direction of the voice, eyes wide. She spotted him in an instant and was on her feet half a second after that, bag of gold dropped onto her abandonned cloak as she dove into the surf. "Hang on, I'm coming!" she cried, swimming as fast as humanly possible (which was something quite impressive for someone who wasn't very good at it; she'd drown if it weren't for the miracle of Dog Paddling). After a couple dozen strokes, Ro remembered how bad she was at it and began to sink below the water. "FUCK!"

Zivon noticed the girl was no swimmer. Sighing, he looked at her underwater. She was already starting to drown. Geeze, really? he thought, rolling his eyes. He did one last flail and dove underwater swimming towards her.
She gasped for air as her head started to go under again. Zivon arrived to where she was and as she tried to go back up he pulled her down. He turned her to face him and smirked at her. "This was too easy" he said pulling her down by her arm. He grabbed a piece of rope and tied it around her wrists and then grabbed another piece to put around her ankles.

Ro's lungs filled with water as she stared at him with wide eyes. After a moment, they narrowed and filled themselves with liquid hate and the blonde head butted him in the face, struggling against her bonds meanwhile in an attempt to find her knife. Bastard, she mouthed, continuing her mad struggle against the ropes. I'm going to freaking kill you.
Even with out the mouthed promise, it was obvious that she was out for blood now, but with each passing second, the burning in her lungs increased as they screamed for air and her vision blurred. In another few moments, her world would black and then she'd be screwed.

The djinn had felt a twinge in the magick pull he had placed on the human thief and followed it, irritated and upset when he found her being trapped by the merman. Sighing, he materialized under the water next to her, waving away her bonds before returning his attention to the merman.
Eyes flashed red and narrowed as he took in the smirking merman. With a snap of his fingers, the merman was suddenly more than a few feet above the water. Grabbing the human and pulling her to him, he rose up so they were standing on the water. "I just can't seem to leave you alone without you nearly dying, can I my pet thief?" he asked with a trace of humor and irritation in his tone as he began walking along the surface of the water, carrying her.
Looking up, he fixated his eyes on the still floating merman. "And you would do well to stay away from her, little boy," he said, the venom clear in his tone as he dispelled the magick keeping the merman in the air, letting him fall to hit the surface.

Zivon snarled at the woman as she fought with him. After being head-butted he grabbed her more roughly as he tied her up.
Suddenly a djinn appeared. What the hell, Zivon thought as he tried to swim away with his victim who was now mouthing curse words at him. Then he was no longer in the water. Having no clue what had just happened to him he looked around and realized he was being held in the sky by some sort of magic. The djinn said something before Zivon flew back towards the water surface. After plunging in and realizing what was happening, Zivon swam towards them, infuriated.
He had his spear and his eyes shone blue as he called forth the sharks, they swam by his side as he raced towards the figures.

It didn't matter WHO it was who'd dragged her up out of the water just as she was losing conciousness, but she was damn thankful when fresh air filled her already collapsing lungs. She clawed at her chest with newly freed hands, not caring about the burns the ropes had left after he'd begun tying them tighter, coughing and sputtering. If it weren't for that, the sound of Jarlaxle's voice would have stilled her.
"W-what the h-hell are you doing here?!" she demanded, gasping for air. Her voice came out as more of a croak, and she mentally cursed the merman; she'd kil him as soon as she was able. "Shark!" she cried cried after a moment!

The djinn turned, sighing in irritability as he took in the infuriated merman. Waving a hand, he forced the merman back roughly through the water, undoubtedly doing some damage to him before he deigned to respond to the human. "Saving your life of course. Unless you want me to put you right back in the water and back in the position you were in?" he asked as he arched an eyebrow, taking in her form with a slight scowl.
Tapping a finger gently against her wrists, he healed the rope burns there before doing the same on the other marks on her body. "It would be a shame if I could prevent your death and failed to, little thief," he said.

All she could manage was a weak scowl as she glared at him, displeased but still thankful that at least SOMEONE cared enough to help. One didn't usually build friendships in her line of work. "Thanks," she murmured, her hands grasping his wrist where it held her around the waist. "I don't even want to think about what could have happened to me or my corpse if you hadn't shown up. Now do something about those sharks and the merman before I lose my ankles and blame you."
As she said this, she pointed to the charging Zivon, blue eyes showing just a hint of worry.

As Zivon was thrown back he lost control of the sharks who seemed to have forgotten what they were doing and swam away lazily. Zivon finally got his head to stop spinning and looked around. "DAMMIT!!" He cursed out loud. He was about to pursue when he noticed another creature. At first he couldn't tell what it was. It had the shape of a killer whale but had no black spots. As he swam a little closer, he realized it was a killer whale. Staring, he gasped, Shit thats Zoyenka's shape shifter! What the hell is it doing here?
The killer whale then turned into a dolphin called several other dolphins over. They swam towards the djinn and the girl and formed a protective circle around where they were standing.
"Shit, shit, SHIT!" Cursed Zivon loudly. He looked around frantically, looking for Zoyenka. Was she here? No she has the marketplace, she had to have been. Not wanted to risk it, He backed off the chase, cursing over and over to himself, glancing darkly at the figures.

The djinn arched an eyebrow, feeling the magick flow off the creatures but not pressing his luck with them before facing the merman, the human thief held safely in his arms and high and dry out of the water, and giving him a sneer that would make and prideful being proud.
Without another word, he turned on his heel and continue walking towards the beach, at last setting down the human on the sand, well above the water line as his words drifted back to the merman, unheard by no one but the intended audience. "And you thought you could take on a djinn? Foolish little boy, you still have much to learn if you think that your trivial life will amount to anything," he said, mouth never moving to give way that he said anything to the human.

The look Ro shot him was suspicious, but she ignored him in favor of scuttling towards her abandoned things, throwing her cloak over her shoulders just as the morning air began to rip shivers from her wet form. "Fudging magical beings," she muttered, using the tattered edges to wipe the salt water from her eyes. "What is it about my kind that just screams, 'Hey, look at me! I'm weak and incapable of protecting myself! Go ahead and eat me or whatever!'"
"And you!" she spun around to yell at the conveniently absent merman. "How dare you! I thought you were drowning, and I risk my life to save yours only to have you drag me under! I don't care if I can't swim anyways, that just wasn't cool!"

Zivon clenched his teeth as he listened to the djinn. Why can't you just mind you're own damn business? As for the human, he didn't care if she was hurt by what he did he was just having a little mischievous fun. She was simply entertainment for him and his boring life underwater. Now he was focused on getting back to work and hoped to do something about the shape shifter before it ratted him out to his sister. She didn't need to know what he did when he went to the surface...
The shape-shifter turned into a seal and washed up on shore next to the human. Letting out a cry, it sounded as if it were apologizing for the merman's actions.

The djinn arched an eyebrow as he took in her form, patiently standing there as his crow flew over and alighted on his shoulder, letting out a loud 'caw' in greeting and announcement of his presence. Morpheus smiled and raised a hand up to stroke the feathers on the bird as he turned to make sure the merman was gone.
"Since it seems you are so obviously capable of taking care of yourself, I will let you be with the recommendation of getting swimming lessons," he said as he regarded her form with amusement before shaking his head and beginning to walk away since she obviously wanted to be left alone.

"Oh hell no, you aren't leaving me here by myself," she said with wide eyes, spinning to catch up with him and stopping by grabbing the back of his coat. "I need you here case I get mad again and run out there to kick his fishy ass. I can't swim, and I'm liable to forget again." The look of fear in her eyes told it was no joke and that it had happened before; she had the scars to prove what kind of trouble her temper had gotten her into.
More importantly, she had the mother of ALL scars running down her back from her right shoulder to her hip to prove it. That one had been a souvenir from her first visit to the Underdark when she'd pissed off some bitchy Drow princess who'd demanded retribution for her 'insolence'. Ro had learned the importance of the phrase 'keep you head down and your mouth shut' after that.

Zivon had swam back to his room, his head practically fuming. Am I losing my touch or something? Its getting so much harder these days. He turned to his wall and started pounding on it in anger. His knuckles bled and he cursed. Putting it to his mouth his eyes narrowed as he thought of the shape shifter. What the hell was it doing there? And it helped them get away. It wasn't like the djinn couldn't do it on his own, he definitely was strong.
Zivon grabbed his spear and headed of to his post to guard the palace walls. The bleeding on his hand stopped. If I see that shape-shifter, I'm going to kill it he thought to himself, smirking.
The shape-shifter saw the two people walking away on the beach so it turned toward the water and dove in. It knew that Zivon probably wanted him dead so he had to find Zoyenka and warn her before Zivon did anything.
