Abilities:
All elves have extremely sensitive hearing, sight, and smell helping them survive. They are very light when they tread on the ground, giving them the ability to walk on the top of snow.
Drow posses innate abilities to survive in the Underdark. All drow can see in the infrared spectrum, levitate and drop "globes of darkness" which completely black out a small area, making it so nothing can be seen in any light spectrum and no light can shatter it. However, through any time spent in the sun, they grow weaker and become faint as well as if they spend extended periods of time, they lose the ability to levitate.
Moon elves have the ability to call on the "good" creatures of the night as well as healing those animals. They blend perfectly with the shadows of the night.
Forest elves possess the ability to call upon the animals of the forest, speak to the trees, and heal. They are perfectly suited for the forest.
Powers:
Depends on their ranking. The priests/shamans/terrators have powers which derive from their gods and goddesses, thus enabling them to have powers which lie beyond the normal capabilities.
Moon elves possess moon or water magic--they have the ability to affect the tides and flows of water.
Forest elves possess earth magic--they can ask the forest to move for them and can grow trees and plants out of the palm of their hands, holding only a seed, some dirt and a bit of water.
Physical Features:
All elves are tall, slender beings who are the same height as humans. The shortest elf is six foot, being most females that height. All elves have pointed ears.
Drow:
All drow have dark, black ebony skin and white hair. Their eyes are either red or lavender, but all glow red when in infrared vision.
Moon:
Moon elves have either dark blue, silver or pale blonde hair. Their eyes are either silver, dark blue or a pale blue. Their skin is extremely pale, almost translucent.
Forest:
Forest elves have tan skin, green, brown, or blonde hair. Their eyes are earthen tones, either green, brown, or blue shades.
Historical Background:
The elves used to live together, thousands of years ago on the surface. At sometime, there came a source of discord between the races, the Forest and Moon elves driving the Drow underground where they have lived ever since.
The Forest elves are often seen as the all knowing, wise, and helpful elves and often will help humans or other races that they do not dislike.
Moon elves are flighty and 'spacey' in nature, only appearing at night and often love to dance under a full moon, singing their praises to her.
Drow are the dark creatures, taking delight in the misery of others. They live in a society ruled by women where men have no power. Few who make it to their awful, wondrous city ever come back alive. They excel in crafts meant to torture or kill and often lead raiding parties to the surface, coming up through one of the few exits and the miles of mazes to the surface. They worship the spider goddess, Lloth.
