It was the best booze in Yviex.
At least, that was what she'd heard; frankly it wasn't any better then dog piss, and that was being kind. Still, as bad as it tasted, it produced a pleasent burn on the way down, and after a few goblets, Ro was sufficently drunk. Next she would be weary of the potent alcohol, but for now, she was celebrating another job well done.
See, the young theif had just succeeded in robbing the king of the Grey Dwarves blind.
Head tilted back so that her long blone hair spilled down her back while she laughed, the human slammed down a few more coins and ordered another round. Her face was flushed a becoming red from merriment and her absent sobriety, but she didn't care; the Red Spectre had succeeded once more in duping the immortals,a nd would live on for another day.
Even the blood staining her cloak from a tumbled into the rocks couldn't bring her down, and Ro wore it like a badge of honor, playing with the tattered ends as she giggled again.

The grey dwarfs relied on the Drows some times just as the Drows relied on the Grey dwarfs other times. This time though the grey dwarfs were relying on the Drows. He had sent a letter that he was robbed and he had written all who catch the thief will come back to their home richer and with better weapons and armor. In the letter that was soon announced to the Drow city, it had a description of the thief from some grey dwarfs. Arisa d' vlos, or the stalker of blood, had been interested in the job. He had need of better weapons and armor, his armor was softer leather now and his swords were more brittle, still in fighting condition though. Arisa d' vlos had gone out of the tunnels at night to track the thief down and he had for when he though he had let her go he found blood on a mountain rock.
Arisa d' vlos had followed the trail even more precisely now and came upon a inn for top landers. He put the hood of his pitch black cloak on and entered the inn like a shadow. No one seemed to notice him but a couple of glances around the room he noticed two fairly good descriptions of the thief, one looked a little sad while the other one looked drunk and happy. He made a tough decision and decided to focus on the drunk and happy one, from what he learned the up landers get drunk when they do a task right. As the supposed human thief started playing with the ripped edges of her cloak Arisa d' vlos became even more certain this was the person.

Even with her senses dulled and her vision fuzzy from drink, Ro could still feel the shiver run down her spine as the faint sense of danger filled the room. Her smile slipped away instantly to be relaced by a sort of drunken confusion and she squinted around the room to find the source of her unrest. Blue eyes landed on the hooded figure heading straight for her with a predatory gait, and she smiled invitingly; it seemed someone had put a hit out on her. "Come join me for a drink," she crowed, patting the stool next to her. "Then we can discuss how you want to kill me."
Her words made some of the other patrons uncomfortable, and they moved away from the strange girl. She didn't care. After all, alcohol made her much more agreeable and any filter she might have had on her words was gone. Besides, she could still fight for her life and already she was beginning to sober up.

Arisa d' vlos raised a eyebrow behind his faceless steel mask when she called to him in a inviting tone. He shook his head slightly and continued to stand their, he never was one for discussing. He slid his short sword farther down his armor sleeve and made sure it was still hidden. He looked around the room and no one got close to her, just farther away, so he walked up and sat down at the stool across from her. His red eyes behind the mask looked her over for any tricks up her sleeve, like the trick he had up his sleeve.
When Arisa spoke his voice didn't seemed to be obscured by the mask because it had a hard cold edge to it that was always their. "I wouldn't expect some one drunk to find the person so easily. Were did you stash the treasure?" He knew she wasn't going to tell him but hey, at least he tried to get it out of her more diplomatically.
People seemed to be weary of the people at the table now and kept their distances, some even left to go outside and continue their drinking or discussions. Arisa and the human were constantly being looked at. Arisa could feel their glances on his back but he did not care, he was focused on the task at hand.

Ro pouted when she noticed her glass was empty, but set it aside none the less-now was not the time to worry about the lake of rum. "I sold it already," she giggled as she folded her hands in front of her. "In the black market. Your employer will be able to buy them back soon enough."
Hording treasure also wasn't a habit that she kept, since carrying around priceless valuables was also dangerous and weighed her down. Usually she sold it off almost immediately, but sometimes she would have to hide it somewhere until she found a buyer willing enough to pay her exorberant prices. This wasn't the case now, but that didn't mean he would believe her; she was a thief, after all, and a human one. Everyone knew humans lied.
Meanwhile, her senses were slowly coming back to her, but not as quickly as she would have liked. Stupid humanity...

Arisa leaned forward and raised a eyebrow within the mask. "My employer? No just a bounty setter with a title of king of the grey dwarfs. Now, is that the truth you sold it or is it a sad lie? Either way though your life will cover the missing treasure." He set his knife up his sleeve in a position and tightened his legs in case he needed to jump. He was a drow and every creature knew they could kill without a heart beat, even their own kind, unless it was a female drow. His other hand rested on the table and his fingers curled like claws.
People were watching the conflict and moving as far away as possible and most were leaving now. They had no desire to be in a conflict with a masked stranger and unknown girl to most. The bar tender had left as well and that was saying something more then the scared people were.

"Indeed it is," she replied with a surprisingly mocking smile. "I may with hold the truth, but I never lie outright. I'm human, but I have honor." Quick eyes made an assessment of the situation and noted how he was winding up to spring, probably to stab her with the toothpick hidden up his sleeve. Her own weapon, safely hidden under the table and under her cloak, was slowly extending in her free hand so that she may block the attack when it came. Words of power were hovering on her tongue, the taste of magic sweet and tangy as she prepared to beat a hasty escape. "I don't suppose you'll be letting me go then, huh?" she sighed with a shake of her head. "What a shame. We could have been great drinking buddies."

Arisa laughed with a cold voice. "Maybe when your caught and showed that stealing is bad against our temporarily allies then maybe I'll think about being any ones drinking buddy." his free hand grabbed the table as he pushed it towards her hoping it would crush her to the wall as he quickly made a drop of darkness and the inn went pitch black. Arisa remembered were she was as he lunged at her and drew his dagger from his sleeve and unsheathed his taller sword from his back and slashed from both ways towards the center were she was. He was trained in the drop of darkness more then levitation or the infa red vision.

She reacted just as quickly as he had struck, muttering her spell and disappearing in a poof of red smoke just as the blades sliced through where she had been. Swinging up into the rafters once she was out of reach, she drew her staff again and extended it to it's full size. Clearing her throat, she threw her voice so that she sounded like she was behind him. "You underestimated me," she laughed, a faint slur still tinging her voice. "For a bounty hunter as skilled as yourself, that was an extremely novice mistake. I'm a master in my art honey, so don't expect an easy catch."

Arisa laughed and it echoed off all the walls so it was impossible to tell were he truly was. "It's called warm up." he jumped up and levitated the rest of the way to the ceiling as stabbed his swords into the roof. Arisa was upside down as his back faced the floor and his stomach up to the ceiling so he could easily move out of the way from any thing he heard. He looked around the room and listened to were she was as he put a knife back up his sleeve and took four knives out from a belt. He threw them all towards the ground were it sounded she had come from. He heard no jolt of pain or rustling. "For being slurred your good at throwing your voice, just like one of the carny folk."

"Well I was a circus clown," her voice whispered in his ear, though she was clear across the room, watching him through the darkness several beams down. This whole thing was a sort of game to her so of course she wasn't taking the situation seriously. Angry kings sent bounty hunters after her all the time, and this was no different. They would cross blades a few times, they would tell her they were going to kill her and bring her head in, she'd mock them, then disappear. It was the same each time, except the hunter this time appeared to be a rather profficient drow.
It would be hard, but she'd escape eventually. She just needed to make sure she did it in such a way that she didn't lose a hand in the process. Her job would be just that much harder if she did...

Arisa dropped to the floor and broke through a table that he landed on. It didn't hurt him at all because of his armor. He had put both his swords away when he fell and now had daggers in all he could carry with his hands. His knife belts were easily reachable as he threw a arc across the room and when none of them hit he jumped and quietly levitated back in the rafters. He returned the daggers back to their spots and redrew his swords as he quietly jumped to the next rafter. He was now four rafters away from the human girl yet it was so quiet he could have left.

And the silence made her nervous. But if anything, Ro was patient, and even as she began to inch her way silently across the wooden beam she had hidden herself on, she knew she wasn't getting out of this without a fight. Shrinking her staff so that it wouldn't scrape the wood as she moved, she padded across the beam with the grace and silence of a cat. "You're awfully persistant," she said, voice somewhere near the stairs to the second floor. "Sure we can't discuss this like adults over a pint?"
She prepared to utter her spell again in case he caught sight of her, scowling at the darkness around ehr.

Arisa's icy laughter sounded all around the room again. "if you could find the pint then go ahead and maybe we can." He quietly moved under the beams and put his swords away as he jumped from under the beam to the stairs as he spun and wasted a whole belt and a half of daggers. The daggers soared through the dark with dead silence and fast speed. Arisa landed on the stairs with a thud and quickly drew his swords as he twirled them around and they whistled through the air. "I think it would be wise for you to go find that pint of ale now or some one may end up dead."

Ro cursed silently, glaring at him from her hiding spot. There were still people cowering behind upturned tables and the bar, and she knew that if she didn't act, they would have more then a few close calls on their hands. So making as much noise as possible, the blonde swung down from the rafters and landed in a crouch, staff extended in her hand. She rose slowly, straightening and fixing the drow with a dark look that was only negated by the flush in her cheeks from drink. "You may well reget those words, Hero," she sneered, reffering to how his mask made him seem like an anti-hero. "Like I said, I'm only mostly harmless."

Arisa grinned. "I like that title, hero. It has a ring to it but i prefer something more sinister. How about Fallen Hero, that could easily work." He knew were she was from the noise and his mind quickly put together why she did it. "You seem to be the hero, after all your saving the people from the curse you've brought them do to your greed." He did a cart wheel forward and as he came down he stabbed the dagger were he assumed her feet were and stood up as he kicked forward that his leg went vertical. He was very flexible for a warrior but his raider side needed to be. He brought the leg down and swiped all around himself with his long sword before crouching again and springing behind a table were he heard citizens.
The drop of darkness disappeared and the inn lit up again as Arisa brought the edge of his sword to a citizens neck. "Is it worth killing some one else to save yourself or would you rather have the innocent die?"

Ro flipped out of reach just as he landed in front of her. When the lights went on again, it took her a moment to adjust to it again. "And I don't steal out of greed. I do it out of necessity. If you'd asked more about the theft, you'd have learned I'd only taken something of low value," she growled when she saw him with the knife to the poor man's throat. How dare he involve innocents in their fight. "Why do you people never try to get the whole story?"
Shaking her head, she took several, slow steps toward them, hands up to show she wasn't going to attack. "Now let the man go, Sparky. Before you force my hand," she warned.

Arisa raised a eyebrow as he smirked wickedly behind the mask. "tell me the story then but it won't matter, you've still stolen. I'm not doing this for the money anymore or the weapons and armor. I think I'm doing this for fun now because you seem to like and dance." He said referring the dance to the fight. He pushed the man as he stumbled and fell. Arisa just got into a stance with his sword in his back arm. "You shouldn't let your weakness's show, hide them yet try to solve them, it's how assassins and criminals become good at what they do." he was ready once more for her to come at him and he welcomed it. He would have to go soon to leverage the fight though and planned to do so.

The look she shot him was so cold that the air might have dropped about ten degrees if she'd had the ability to perform ice magic. "I think you ought to look at yourself before giving me advice Hero-boy," she sneered derisively, staff twirling expertly in her hands before coming to a stop in a defensive position. "You're the one who seems to be having issues killing a weak little human, after all." And she rather liked her weaknesses, thank you very much. After all, she WAS only human and they let her know that she wasn't some souless monster who tok without consideration and never gave back. Ro was selfish, but only whe she needed to be; and if he thought her pitiful for caring about another life then her own, then so be it.
She wasn't the one hiding behind a mask.

Arisa shook his head. "I have no problem killing a weak human, why do you think I'm going after you." he chuckled darkly as he pointed his sword at her before swinging it down into the ground. He could easily walk on it now or take it out of the ground if he so needed to do it. He was going to attack her if she did not attack him and it seemed he would have to attack her.
The humans who were left in the inn all scattered out the door as some tripped over things in the rush. They were all trying to save themselves and none cared as the one in the back had a knife thrown into his neck and slumped to the floor lifeless.
Arisa put his hand to this side after he threw the knife into the person. "No problems for me at all."
