Name: Mae-Rizeyl Baelyndrin(threw away her last name when her clan was wiped out)
Age: 3,473
Gender: Female
Race: Drow
Hails From: The underdark
Ranking: Was training to be a priestess and it's possible she could have become powerful enough to have made it to high priestess. However her clan was wiped out before she could finish her training. She hardly uses the magic she learned now preferring to fight as a warrior.
Weapons: Scythe She can use almost any weapon and often will steal weapons from her opponents and use it against them.
Abilities: She can do all the things most drow elves can do and she is highly trained in several forms of martial arts. Her body is honed to be a weapon and she is quick, limber and always precise. She is extremely powerful when using her weapon of choice, a scythe and still pretty good with multiple different kinds of weapons.
Companions: Gargoyle Named Griff
Occupation: Mercenary assassin.
Appearance:
Rizeyl stands at 6'2 and is built with a tight athletic frame. Her white hair used to be kept at shoulder length but once she escaped into the tunnels of the underdark she let it extend down to her lower back. She has lavender eyes and three piercing on each ear. While she is beautiful, it is a deadly beauty as with most of the drows. She has several tattoos over her body now, and a white birthmark in the shape of a spider on the base of her neck. She always wearing an armored mask and carries her scythe on her back or in her hand.
Personality: Cold and impersonal. She has absolutely no trust in people, what-so-ever, drow or non-drow. She trusts Griff and thats about it. She despises most of the clans although she will work for them out of necessity. There have even been occasions when surface dwellers can hire her services, but that is rare and far in-between since she hates going to the surface. One for more action and less talk it is dangerous to anger her since her first reaction would be just to get rid of you and be done with it. Griff is often her voice of reason and she trusts his judgment unwaveringly and without question. In fact it's rare that she ever talks to people instead Griff will talk to people for her.
History:
When she was born there was a small birthmark on the back of her neck in the shape of a spider. Seeing that as a sign that she was blessed by Lloth herself, she was given to her sister to be raised instead of to a handmaiden. Her sister, Silice had been about to finish her own priestess training. Because of her new responsibility though, she would not be able too. Because of this she treated Rizeyl with absurd cruelty. Often times the young drow girl was locked up in a room with no visitors, no food, and no chance to leave to use the bathroom. With only her books and studies to keep her company she would try to keep from living in her filth and concentrate on making Silice happy so that she might not be punished more when the bitter woman returned.
This went on for most of the Rizeyl's life until finally she could not stand it anymore. While the older more powerful drow woman was beating Rizeyl for blotching a spell she had been working on. By now Rizeyl was getting close to a thousand years in age and while she had put up with Silice's treatment out of respect for her matron mother's wishes for her to learn under her sister, the fledgling priestess lost her temper and her control. Using as much magic she had learned from her independent studies, she killed her sister in anger and hatred for the treatment she had received.
So deep was her anger she didn't even care what happened to her for killing her sister. To her surprise she wasn't killed on the spot for what happened. Her mother, who was the matron mother, praised her for this saying that it was the makings of a powerful female to take charge and not let anyone push her around. Also the matron mother declared that Silice had not acted in the best interest of the clan. Rizeyl continued her training under several other tutors. Although she excelled in the magic arts what she really enjoyed was her weapons classes. Her acrobatic abilities grew and her expertise in several different weapon forms grew along with it.
Eventually her smaller clan was wiped on by a rival clan. The only reason Rizeyl was not destroyed along with the rest of the priestesses was because she had been dressed as a warrior. When the attack happened she had been training with the weapons master so she didn't look like a priestess and so she was able to escape the invading house and run away into the tunnels of the underdark. While wandering the halls she saved a gargoyle from a mindflayer. The Gargoyle swore loyalty to her and has been with her ever since. She lived in the tunnels for several hundred years and her fighting skills grew even more in the harsh environment.
She returned to the cities of the drow and swore to never join a clan again. Instead she would work for any clan that would hire her. The freedom she had experienced in the tunnels was not something she was ready to give up so easily.
