The night was cool and quiet, just the way she likedit when going out for work. No one was around to hear or see, and the thick canopy the trees created blocked out the stars just enough to give her cover; most thieves wore dark colors when going out to steal, but she liked to announce herself. Ro always wore blood red.
Cloak swirling behind her as she jumped and swung from branch to branch using her staff, she paused to take in the distance between her and a particularly far branch before leaping again. The landing was graceful as always.
Grinning like a chesire cat, the human crouched beside the trunk and took in her target. The home of the King of Zyabeth Forest. It wasn't the first time she'd robbed his home, but she'd heard hew as actually in this time, so things could get interesting. There had been tell that he did a bit of thieving in his time as well, and it would be fun to match wits if it were true.
Except that in her experience, no one in the nobility could ever match wits with her, it was with a shrug that she dropped to the ground soundlessly. Time to get to work.

The stars sparkled tonight, just like any other, but it took skill to see them this time. Mischevious clouds covered the night sky, giving shade to the already dark earth. Locksley hid in the rather large tree, one of many that surrounded his large home. He hated to be stuck in doors, a trait that he had gained from his younger days. He was leaning against the large trunk, swinging his leg over the edge of the branch he leasurely sat on. His crystal eyes were up at the sky, giving thanks to the stars for their great effort. You never know, maybe one day, they just might not shine any more. Probably because no one ever thanked them for their helpful, and sometimes not, light. However, today was different.
Robin wore his usual light clothing; dark shirt, black belt, tight pants, and light woven shoes. It helped to get wear light all the time, plus, he just had no use for armor. Sure, Locksley was hurt plenty of times, he just didn't like to wear such heavy things that always seemed to give your position away. So, he didn't wear it. His thoughts seemed to be scattered today. The events from earlier days, the one with meeting Boliko and the priestess, still not knowing her god damn name, remained in his thoughts. For some reason, he couldn't stop thinking about her name. Suddenly, Robin stood up and grinned widely. He wanted to figure out this girls name, so he quickly devised a plan. He would go to the underworld of the Drow! His excitement suddenly vanished as he looked down. Like hell he was going to do that.
As the crystal eyes looked down, Robin saw something moving rapidly in trees. At first, it seemed like a squirrel, as it jumped from tree to tree and plopped on the ground, but then he noticed that it walked on two feet. He grinned to himself again, thinking that he would have another adventure. So Robin quickly put his bow behind his head and leaped from the high point of the ancient tree. He quickly caught another branch and swung himself up, continuing the motion until he was considerably closer to the ground. However, he positioned himself behind the girl (he thought, well it was wearing a bright red hood, cloak thing), trying to keep up with her fast movement. It wasn't that difficult, but he didn't want to get caught. His smile only widened.

She crouched low behind some underbrush, the fine hairs on the back of her neck sticking up. Glancing up, down, side to side, she tried to locate the source of the sudden disquiet in her heart; someone appeared to be watching, but her human eyes couldn't locate them in this kind of dark. If it weren't for her eternal caution, she would have shrugged it off almost immediately; unfortunately, Ro knew better.
Cursing softly under her breath, she was off again, now far more eager to finish this job before she ran into whatever it was that was watching her then before. At first it was just for fun, but now there seemed to be a sort of foreboding in the air.
She muttered a few words of power under her breath and with a poof of red smoke, was inside. Gotta move fast.

The air had a slight chill to it, understandable for the autumn season. Robin happened to love this time of year. As he hid in the trees, he imagined dark red, orange, and brown leaves in the trees, surrounding him. It sort of made him happy to think that such beauty of the forest could get even better. He could feel the tree move ever so slightly underneath his feet. Robin stopped his happy thought, realizing that his thoughts were effecting the tree. He sighed, and concentrated back on the red riding hood.
His crystal eyes moved with the swiftness of his slender body, until she just stopped. Locksley feared that he might have benen discovered, but she whispered words and suddenly vanished into red smoke. His smile brightened with astonishment. Why would a creature use pety spells like that? Then Robin thought that she must be either a human or some othe speices that can't do strong magic. Or, she could just be younge. Caught up in his thoughts, Robin jumped down from the tree and walked to where the girl vanished. Red smoke still remained as he used his senses. He couldn't hear any movement nearby, nor smell anything but the girls scent. Robin made sure to make a memo of this just in case he came across this scent again. His eyes clearly couldn't see anything, so Robin looked up at a nearby tree and asked it find a girl. He gave a description and waited. He could hear the trees whisper to each other, the whispers grew louder, but Robin blocked them out.
The forest elf king ran around town, knowing fair well that she couldn't have gotten very far with that kind of spell. It only took him a minute or so for trees to whisper in his ears that she wasn't in the woods. Robin looked a bit dissapointed, and quickly walked back to the ancient tree, having no difficulty climbing back to his room window. The night sky grew a bit darker as more clouds formed, but Robin took no notice. He opened the window quietly and landed gracefully in his bedroom. The area had a large tree, well part of it, near the center of the room, a commindation he thought this room needed. There was also a a very large bed, with leaves sown on the quilt. It always changed with the coming of seasons, and so far, it had bright orange and red leaves shown all over it. Robin moved swiftly to his bed and plopped down, spreading like an eagle and staring at the ceiling. What an odd day.

Suddenly there was a faint curse and some scuffling as if someone was hiding. When the hell had the king come back? He was supposed to be gone all night so that she could steal the necklace that his clan so treasured. Ro cursed again, realizing that she had made far more noise then she would have liked; if she had kept quiet, she could have slipped out while he was asleep. Now she was lucky if she didn't have to fight her way out.
The blonde had heard he was rather formidable.
Glancing around the corner of her hiding place, Ro held out some hope that maybe he hadn't heard her.

The room was quiet for a little while, but then there was a faint whisper from his room. Aat first, Robin dismissed at as the trees and forgot about it but it came again as he closed his eyes. Sitting straight up, Robin examined his room. There was the desk, the bed post, (he was pretty sure he was the only one in his bed). All seemed ot be in order but he was definatly sure that the whisper didn't come from the tree. Quickly getting up, Robin unsheathed his sword and silently moved slowly around his room. He could barely hear a heartbeat, so he knew that someone was in he room, and close. Robin swung his sword just as reached the corner where the heartbeat seemed to grow louder. His crystal eyes met a redhood and a girl crouching in a corner. His look of fierceness changed to curiosity."What the hell are you doing in my house, let alone my bedroom..." Robin grew a smile and backed up, letting the girl have some room to get out of the corner. She must have been the girl that he was chasing in the woods.

Ro jumped, looking up to face her victim. Well, judging from the sword in his hand, obviously he wasn't going to be a victim much longer. Scrambling to her feet, she mentally cursed the bonehead mistake that had gotten her caught; what was she, a beginner? The last time she had gotten caught like this had been years ago, and damnit, even then she hadn't screwed up this bad. Swallowing hard to try and calm her racing heart, the blonde quickly hid her prize in a leather sachel at her side.
"I'm just passing through is all," she replied smoothly, silently applauding herslf for being able to keep her voice so calm. "I over shot my teleportation spell and ended up here. My bad, I'll just be on my way." She tried to slip past him.

The little girl, well not really little, just shorter than he, got up and spoke like she was in the street. He couldn't help but watch in amazement at her skill and courage. He leaned against the tree and watched as she headed towards the windowl, planning on going out. Robin quickly whispered to the tree and walked towards the girl just as branches covered the window, making it nearly impossible for anyone to get out of it, unless of course she would use magic to burn it. Maybe this human knew how to use this magic, but Robin didn't dwell on the thought.
Robin walked in front of the window and rested on the branches. He crossed his arms and smiled brightly."Like hell you did. Sorry if I don't happen to believe you, but you are in my room. Now please, sit." Robin had no real interest into talking with this human, but he wanted to know the real reason she just happened to be in his room. It seemed unlikely that she was here, hiding in the corner of his room, just because of a spell. Robin quickly walked to the egde of his bed and patted next to him cutely sarcastic. It was just fun to mess with people.

"I think I'll stand," she glowered, fingering her dagger behind her back. She needed to leave five minutes ago, but if he continued to hold her here and discovered what was in her bag....she didn't think the consequences were going to be very good. Not for her of course (Ro had gained the skills to deal with immortal beings long ago), but she didn't think it would be very wise to kill the forest king while inside a giant tree. It would probably crush her to death. "And you can believe whatever you want, but it won't change the fact that you are holding an innocent girl against her will," she shrugged before grinning venomously. "It might ruin your honorable reputation Lord Hood."

The room was lit by magical lights that seemed to dance around the room, chasing each other. When you really thought about it, it seemed quite lively and free in the room. Robin thought about this too, but with the girl seeming so angry and annoyed with him, the lights moved around the room slowly, sensing the energy given off by her."Why are you so upset? I let you live didn't I? And isn't it me who should be mad at you?" Robin looked at the girl with questioning eyes, and the pulled out his bow from the side of his bed. He quickly strung it and aimed right at the girl. "And if I'm suppose to be mad, then aren't I suppose to attack you? Well, only for your ignorance, since this was an accident." He could feel the twinkle in his eyes as he shot off 2 arrows in a single second. They flew just inches past the girl, hitting the blockade behind her. Robin only smiled."My reputation you say? What shall that be; my days a thief or of my kingly actions?" Robin couldn't help but laugh. She seemed so mad and serious, he couldn't help it. "Please, please no Lord crap. Only Robin, but if you wish, Hood is fine. Now what shall I address you? Simply a demimondaine*?" *demimondaine - mistress (slutty-ish person xD)

Her hood fell back from her head with the rush of air as she watched him, unperturbed by the arrows twanging behind her; if he'd meant her harm, he wouldn't have missed. However, the elvish word for whore (she couldn't tell if it was the polite one or not because she had really only learned the insult so that she knew when they were talking down to her) set her blue eyes aflame with anger. She smiled sweetly at him, visibly relaxing her shoulders so that she appeared at ease. "You may call me Red," she replied in sugary sweet tones, giving him a sweeping bow that was clearly as mocking as he was. Upon straightening, she brought a hand to her mouth and appeared to smother a laugh. "Of course...it's an assumed name."
Because giving your real name to anyone was a big mistake; once they had your real name, they could essentially take control of you. It was a hard learned lesson for most, but a good one to know none the less. Especially if you were a wanted woman.

The girl seemed to be genera human, one of cautiousness and Robin seemed to be a little annoyed by this. They needed to learn when things weren't a threat, but throwing an arrow at someone didn't really seem quite the way of showing that to someone. Robin leaned back on the bed and studdied the girl. The red hood had fallen down a little bit ago and he Robin was able to lay eyes on her blonde hair, clearly standing out in the dimly lit room. His eyes continued to look over here, finally deciding that she must not be from a well distablished home, or she was a traveler. Robin believed the second one more.
"Red Riding Hood. Haha, two hoods in the same place, how odd." Robin laughed as he watched her sarcastic actions, clearly dishing out what he was giving. This girl was clearly spunky, well either that, or she really wanted to get out of here."So what were you doing before you accidentally poofed in my room here? And would you please sit down, eithere on the bed or the chair over there. Your making the lights a bit antsy." Robin pointed to the chair next to the study desk and waited patiently for the human, Red to answer.[/

The nod she gave him was curt at best, but she never lost the sugary smile as she plopped herself into the chair in favor of the bed. She at least appeared sympathetic to lights, and held a gloved hand out for one to land on; the smile she gave it was real before it took off and she fixed him with the fake once more. "I suppose you could call me that, but that would make you the Big Bad Wolf, and I'm no Maid Marion," she replied with a tiny laugh; that had actually been sort of funny. She threaded her hands together and rested them on her knee as she crossed her legs to look all prim and proper. "I was aiming for the trees on the other side of it, actually. I was looking for an inn to stay in when I cast the spell and botched it. Just be glad I ended up in your corner instead of all over your walls. I here that's what happens when you REALLY get it wrong."
A white lie never hurt anyone, and she doubted he knew the exact nature of the teleportation spell anyways. Elves and wizards had different types of magic, so she was thankful she had pilfered a book back in Temarra instead of one here in Zyabeth. It wouldn't due if she got caught like this more often.

Crystal eyes continued to watch the girl as she gently held the light in her human hand. It was the first time that he was able to see a generous smile from her, but it was aimed at the delightful light. It then bounded off in search of it's companion somewhere in the room. Looking at the girl, Robin couldn't help but smile."No, you're definatly not. But she's out there." Robin had heard this story before, one of which a maiden as a beautiful as the stars becomes Robin's companion. He really wished he knew who started this because recently, it was causing him havoc. Shaking it off, Robin got up from the bed and started to walk around.
He still continued to listen as she spoke of her misfortune of the teleportation spell. Although Robin has never used it in his lifetime, he hasn't met anyone who said that that could happen, but then again,he never actually dwelt on the subject. Why poof when you could easily run with the wind? But she was a human after all. They aren't actually skilled in much things. Being distracted, Robin then stopped and covered his hands. He whispered a spell into them and suddenly his hands were glowing from the inside. As he slowly opened them, a light flew out and floated in mid air, like the other two that now seemed to be playing chase. "Could you tell the butler downstairs to bring me some wine please." Robin turned towards the Red."Want anything Hood? Milk, wine? Maybe food?"

While the food was tempting, she had learned long ago never to take anything from strangers. "I think I'll be fine without it if you let me go," she suggested instead, smiling as innocently as she was not. She'd only blinked at his name for her for a moment, but had jumped back into her sarcastic attitude once more. "C'mon Queenie, I told you I was innocent. You don't want your people wondering what you're doing with a girl alone in your room, do you?" Blue eyes eyed him up and down before the smile became an amused grin. "Unless it isn't girls you like to keep locked up. Would you have preferred it if I were a boy I wonder?"

The light dashed out of the room and left Robin to sit back on the bed. This girl was quite odd. For being a person that was just passing through, she seemed quite condifident in herself. Robin listened as she insulting him, about what, like guys. Oh yea, that was what lived for, he thought sarcastically. But Robin being Robin, he dismissed the talk and looked at her quizziling."Where were you teleporting to again?" Suddenly, this girl seemed to intrigue him a great deal. Leaning back on the bed, Robin wondered if his little plan of his would work."Where were you before you teleported into my room." It struck him that she seemed to have her story all checked out, but it just seemed a bit too... less. Like it was a timeless story, one that that didn't have an end, nor a begining. Well, that was how Robin saw it. "To tell you the truth, my people would be happy that their king would relax some and finally settle down. But that certainly was't you." Robin didn't seem to be having fun with her. In fact, she was a bit boring now.

She seemed unperturbed by the slight and shrugged. "If I wanted to get married, I'd find a guy who didn't wear dresses all day long and was manlier then me," she grinned; this was getting kind of fun. And the faster he got bored with her, the faster she could leave. "And who knows how to treat a girl. I'm sorry, but I don't go for you cute little virgin types, although that's slightly suspect now since you seem to enjoy keeping cute, young girls hostage."
If she could just annoy him a bit more, maybe he would send her away. The last thing she wanted was to deal with an elven king while she had one of his family's precious heirlooms in her back pocket, but she wasn't about to get violent. She had some mad skills, sure, but in the end she was just human, and humans typically couldn't fight immortals since they were stronger then them.

The girl seemed to be avoiding his questions. And she also was trying to annoy him more. Why would she want to do that? Robin thought that the if he got mad enough, he wouldn't mind throwing a few arrows her way. Robin rolled his eyes as this girl was really starting to annoy him."Who ever told you that you were cute certainly told you a heafty lie. Now back to my questions.," Robin got up from the bed, grabed his sword and placed the it on the girls neck."You're pissing me off and I sure as hell don't believe that you just happened to pop in here by mistake. Now why the hell are you here?" Robin touched the wooden chair she was sitting on, and it's branches wrapped around her hands and legs. His crystal eyes were burning without a hint of mercy. He didn't want to hurt her but this stupid human was just pissing him off so much. The blade was pressed against her neck.

The fact that she wasn't afraid must have pissed him off even more as she just sent the blade a mildly surprised look, as if she was wondering why it was there at all. "My Lord, I can tell you right now that scarier things have come out of a dwarf's nose with a sinus infection then you with this toothpick here." She smiled brightly at him as if nothing were wrong and she weren't currently strapped to a chair with a sword at her throat. It just seemed rather funny that he was threatening her when he obviously wasn't as into it as he would have her believe. "That said, I think you can guess why I'm here better then anyone. I am, after all, a thief."
There was a soft POP and an explosion of red smoke, and suddenly the blonde was on the other side of the room with a grin so wide, it was a wonder it didn't split her face. "You should really learn how to recognize your own kind Queenie. You can't trust that everyone will do you the courtesy of being honest, after all," she added, staff twirling skillfully in her hand as she extended it, fully expecting a fight. That was, if he could catch her; the fact that she forgot she could teleport was a tad embarassing, but she would dwell on it later.
"Bet you can't guess what I'm after," she teased lightly. Little did he know, she already had it.

The girl seemed to be amused by his annoyence once again. He wasn't trying to scary her, just threaten. He would have pressed harder on her neck if she continued to piss him off but then she declared that she was a theif. Well, that was obvious enough. Like hell some one would teleport into his room on mistake. So this must have been why she was running through the woods. There was a sudden pop and then she was out of the chair to the other side of the room. Robin turned to look at her and smiled."Well you aren't that boring after all. But why the teleportation? It makes you seem cheap." Robin joked and then looked at his study. The necklace was gone. Turning back to the girl, Robi tilted his head."What do you need the necklace for anyway? And I guess Red isn't your real name?" The last part was given but Robin just stood there, watching her. He knew that she could teleport anywhere out of the room, but he would catch up with her in a heartbeat. If she teleported into the forest, the trees would easily tell him, and she must be running low anyway. Well, he thought.
