The ancients of Yviex live on today in the world. All races and creatures have spawn from the ancients. The ancients were the first in existence, and they were the ones who helped to create Yviex into the world that it is today.
The ancients hold the secrets of how the world of Yviex came into existence. This is a secret that they keep to themselves. People of Yviex look up to the ancients and often seek them out for guidance in worldly issues.
The ancients stem from the spirit of the beast, nature, life, and death. There are only four ancients: Airreviax, Taelion, Rever, and Nyrivex.
Airreviax – Creator of Life
The ancient Airreviax is the creator of life. Without her, there would be no living, breathing beings on Yviex. Her purpose was to give the world life.
Airreviax takes the appearance of a holy being. At a glance, she looks like a picture perfect angel. She is tall in structure, standing at about nine feet in height. Four pure white wings rest upon her back. Her hair is also pure white and falls down past her shoulders. She tends to wear white, creating more of the allusion of being an angel. Her arms are out of proportion from her body, being longer than what most people would consider normal. Her ears are also larger than normal and severely pointed. She usually wears a white cloth around where her eyes would be, because when she came into existence she was not given the gift of sight nor the physical feature of eyes.
Airreviax created what is now considered white magic. She was able to form the power to heal and to resurrect a person after a moment of death.
Taelion – The Spirit of Nature and the Beast
The ancient Taelion is a being known for many forms. Her first form was that of a blackbird. Taelion is able to shapeshift into any form of her choosing. She tends to choose beast forms. When she shifts, she is able to choose whatever appearance she wishes. Her hair, eye, and skin colors can all change to whatever colors she wishes them to be. Taelion can even shift between the genders. She prefers to be female. When depicted in stories, Taelion is known for her first form.
Taelion is the origin of all living animals and plants alike. She is what gives people form and appearance. She helped to shape the different races, giving them different looks and different abilities. Essentially, Taelion was the eyes of Airreviax. Airreviax would create life, and Taelion would take the energy and mold it into an animal or a plant.
Rever – The Bringer of Death
The ancient Rever has always been known as the bringer of death. His purpose was to bring an end to mortal and even immortal life when necessary. He came up with ways to have death come naturally, and in time he came up with ways for death to happen unnaturally with bloodshed. Rever is not cruel in nature. He understands that death must occur for the world to continue on. Without death, the world would become overpopulated, and the energy of Yviex would slowly be drained as the population continued growing. This does not mean that Rever takes no satisfaction in death.
Rever is well known for being the first vampire in existence. When he was first created, he was not considered a vampire. Unlike the other ancients, Rever was able to choose his first form. Until there was life on Yviex, there was no true reason for Rever to take form and use his powers. So, he waited until Airreviax and Taelion had created the creatures who would live upon the land.
Rever waited in a form that was not flesh but more like a gust of mist until he would use his powers. After the first hundred years of the world living without death, Rever brought it upon himself to use his powers. The first being he killed was a human. He watched the life leave the human, and Rever decided to take the form of a corpse. His appearance changed into more of a human form but with incredibly pale skin and vivid red eyes.
As time went on, Rever slowly changed his form. His height became taller, and he stood closer to seven feet tall. His hair was silver and grew extremely long, longer than his full height and then some. His eyes changed from being red to being two different colors. His right eye was blue; his left eye was green. A taste for blood came to him after years of bring death to Yviex. Along with that came longer, sharper nails and teeth to match. His canine teeth had become fangs, and there was a second set of fangs behind them that were just a bit shorter. Whenever the want for blood came upon him, his eyes would change to their vivid red and his fangs would seem to grow longer and sharper.
Rever’s body was able to create blood which never seemed necessary to him. He never drank or ate normal food. After his final changes, he began to feed off of the beings of Yviex and put them to death. He acquired a taste for elven and human blood. He would drink from humans more often than elves, which is why the first time he gave his blood to another creature was a human which created the vampire.
Nyrivex – The Guider of the Souls
The ancient Nyrivex was set in place to guide the spirits and souls of the dead to the next world. His priority was to make sure that souls make a safe and comfortable passage to paradise.
Nyrivex’s powers were not needed until Rever used his powers, but this did not stop him from preparing for helping souls pass from the world of the living to the world of the dead. He created what is now known as the Sanctuary. Souls and spirits are first drawn to the Sanctuary where Nyrivex is able to guide them to their proper destination. Souls may stay for several days to several months at the Sanctuary before going on to the next world.
Nyrivex is considered to be the first necromancer, but he does not look like quite like necromancers do now. He stands at around eight feet. He dressed himself in white to grayish robes. His hair is pure white and drapes all around his body. Depending on his mood, he will leave long beard upon his face or he will simply just shave it off. His face appears to always be youthful. His fingers are very long and spider like. His eyes are completely white.
Nyrivex was the first one to translate the language that the dead seem to acquire after their demise. He learned to communicate with the dead in a way that no mortal can which gave a great help to him with trying to get the souls to their destinations. He passed his art down to a few chosen students and created the necromancers. He taught them the Language of the Dead and how to call upon the skeletons of the dead for help. His main reason for teaching his ways to a few select others was to make sure that any wandering spirits that he could not reach could be contacted and sent to the Sanctuary.
