Solace sighed. He was stuck in a lamp... again. Well, more precisely a large water gourd, where the last wise man had trapped him in. Not exactly Aladdin's lamp, but close. Normally he wasn't so.. unhappy about these kinds of things, but he had been confined there for roughly a few years. Although, it had provided sufficient space for him to place several large items of furniture within. On on side there was his bed, a rug, and a double cat bed for his two companions, Tye the Tiorrex and Kern the animal shifter. The next small space, seperated with a room diveder, acted as a living room comeplete with tv, rug, and sofa. Then there was a small kitchen, where Ace could only make two things; Peanut butter sandwiche and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Then there was a lavatory. All in all, Ace was pretty happy with his personal living space. Good thing too, he was required to stay there until the next lost idiot came along and opened his gourd. Then he was supposed to barge out, yell at the guy, threaten with death, etc. None of the stuff genies, or more precise, djinn were supposed to do.
The truth was, djinn normally just killed anyone that freed them, instead of granting them the standard three wishes. Where the mortals got that idea from he would never know. But even compared to that, Solace was different. It was fun to see what mortals wished for, then manipulated what they said into ways they had never thought of. Then when they got into a rage and yelled, Ace just turned them into a rabbit or something. The last meeting didn't go so well, and the man was actually intelligent and just wished for him to get trapped into his water gourd. Really, if they weren't going to provide some entertainment, he didn't know why they bothered anyway. Seriously. None of them wanted to go bungee jumping with him, or even wanted to parachute. Jeez. Hopefully, the guy who rubbed his gourd next would be a daredevil like him. If not, he probably wouldn't object to be dead. The dead can't be killed again, right?

Levidrona found herself hiking through the mountains. Why? Well, she needed to hide away from thugs in Temarra. So, where would be the best place for her to escape for a while? The mountains. Most thugs did not have the patience to deal with going over rough terrain just for a thief, which Levi was really grateful for.
The human thief did not mind going through the mountains. She rather enjoyed it, actually. She loved being outdoors, getting dirty and sweaty. It really didn’t bother her at all. She could always wash later… If she thought about it.
Today, though, Levidrona seemed to be running low on energy and the hiking was going very slowly. It was also very rough. She needed food and water. The human never had enough money for food or water. She always stole what she needed to survive. Her supplies and her luck had all seemed to run out at the moment.
Levi let out a slow breath as she stopped on the overgrown path that she had been walking on. She sat down regaining her breath. The wilderness was giving the thief a beating. Not to mention, the path she had been traveling on was almost never used. She was only using this path now to protect herself against any of the thugs that might be after her.
The human looked around as she rested. Something caught her eyes suddenly. A gourd that looked as though it could contain water was sitting on the right side of her. Levidrona raised an eyebrow. Luck, maybe? Well, she would definitely see. She reached over and picked up the gourd and examining it.
“Now, to get you open,” she said as she examined it.

Ace was just contemplating on whether to install a trampoline or a mini roller coaster when there was a minor earthquake. A side of his bottle tipped over, sliding all his furniture to the left side and awakening his companions. Tye looked around confusedly, then when back to sleep. Kern raised one sleep eye, then closed. In minutes both were snoring. How they could stand everything Ace didn't know. He himself was thrown backwards under his bed, and was greeted by mountains of trash; rotten food, dirty clothes, the tv remote, etc. Resurfacing and spitting out leftovers, Ace suddenly felt an... airy sensation. He was turning into smoke, drifting out of the open canister. That could only mean one thing; someone had opened his gourd. Scaring time. Yey.
As he drifted out, his appearance was accompanied by a loud crack of thunder and lightning. He emerged from the bottle, head first, trying to give the poor mortal a shock. Most men were like that now. Instead, he found a woman. He didn't have anything against them, of course, but it was mostly men that opened whatever he was trapped in. Still, Ace decided to give her a fright.
"Who dares disturb the peace of Solace the Daredevil?" He said in a loud booming voice.
But still, it was quite a lie. Man, did it feel good to come out and stretch his legs! He had been cooped up in there for a long time indeed. He took a step forward, wobbling a bit. In a bottle, there wasn't really time or space. It was just... matter. He was never quite good at physics, and was quite surprised when he found that he needed to adjust to his body on this astral plane. He had been trapped before, true, but it had been quite some time. But still, it was quite enjoyable to be out in the world. And even better to be scaring the girl out of her wits, which was what he planned on doing.

Levidrona arched an eyebrow as she saw this stranger emerge from the gourd. Great, she was hallucinating now. Had it really been that long since she had something to eat or even something to drink? The thief had seen hallucinations before. Many times before actually. Of course, none of them had ever been this fancy. Not to mention that most of her past hallucinations did not try to scare her. If only this one knew how hard it was to really scare this particular thief.
The human gave a shrug, turning the gourd over and shaking it as if to try and see if anything else would come out.
“No water. Damn it,” she said, under her breath. Levi gave a dissatisfied sigh as she sat the gourd down on her lap. She looked up at this Solace the Daredevil character. Hmm… He was still there. Must not have been a hallucination.
“Do you have some water or food on you by chance?” she asked, taking all of this in stride. Levidrona could not be picky with the company that found her.

Ace was a bit disappointed that she wasn't exactly, ah, screaming or fainting. That was what most people did when they saw him. Then she tipped his bottle over, as if to shake out whatever was in there. Sure enough, his pets materialized next to him, still snoring. Seriously, if she wasn't going to at least scream or make a fuss, why did she have to dump all his possessions out?! Grabbing the gourd away from her, he muttered under his breath about "took the movers forever" and "it cost me half a fortune" before stowing it in his backpack. True, he had been trapped in it, but Ace had developed a fancy for it, and letting the mortal break it was out of the question.
Turning back to her, Ace glared at her. She didn't look frightened, or even startled by his appearance. She probably thought he was an illusion; most did, until he turned them into ducks. And above that, she asked him for food and water. The nerve of some people. But still, if she wanted something, she might as well wish for it. That was what the Djinn were supposed to do, besides killing people.
So addressing her, he asked. "You do know that I am a Djinn, right? And who are you?"

“Well, that would explain the fancy appearance,” Levidrona said as she sat back against the trunk of a tree a bit. The thief had seen many things in the short amount of time she had been alive. She had never laid eyes on a djinn before, but there was a first time for everything so she thought.
This particular djinn did not seem happy at all with how she was taking his sudden appearance in stride. Hey, she couldn’t help it. Levi had learned to take surprises as if they were nothing. If she got frightened or startled at everything sudden, she would not have been able to live out in the world.
“You can call me Levi,” she said with a smile and a slight salute. “And I have already gotten your name. Solace, right? Solace the Daredevil if I am recalling correctly. So, what makes you the daredevil djinn? Your title has definitely sparked my curiosity.”
The human may have been hungry and thirsty beyond belief, but she still had to be polite and address the stranger.

Alrick had been gliding above the the Stroikara Mountains to deliver a letter to the city of Abourno when he heard a loud boom of a voice. It seemed to come from a small clearing directly below him. From what he could see from the sky, there was a vague creature of some sorts and a person who was near it. This scene, particularly the shape, shadow or form, intrigued him.
Should I drop down and take a look?
He quickly decided that accomplishing his assigned task could wait, since that creature was something that he had yet to see in his life, and he wanted to know more about it. Slowing down in the air, he looked at the ground and dived. As his great speed blurred his vision and all but removed his sense of hearing, he could still feel the air rushing to meet him and he could also feel his phoenix beside him. It was during this moment that he again appreciated the fact that he had this ability of flight; it delivered such excitement which was unique and quite enjoyable.
He landed with a thud on his knees, his spear clutched tightly in his hand. He landed some meters away from the scene, dust flying upward as his wings flapped slowly. He got up and saw the creature more clearly, and although he still had no idea what it was, it seemed to be made of shadow or air. As for the other creature, he saw that it was a female human, although he was unable to see the smile on her face.
Sensing danger, Alrick's warrior instincts flared up, and he ran forward a few steps with Aserose, his spear, clutched in his hand tightly.
"Get away from that thing!"

The thief looked at this stranger who was now coming toward her and djinn. She raised a slight eyebrow at this angelic ready to attack. Really? Levidrona did not consider herself to be weak. If she was attacked, she could defend herself. That in fact was what her dagger was for. It was meant to protect the human.
Levi stood up, putting her hands upon her hips as she now observed both the djinn and the angelic. To her, this all was slowly becoming an insult. They apparently both thought of her as naïve and weak, and she was neither of these.
“Oy, it’s alright,” she said to the angelic.

Boliko found himself smiling as he looked down upon the mountain side, as a thin whisp of white smoke blew from the end of his pipe. He was watching the events taking place from afar, using a sight-enhancing spell and a simple invisibility charm which had taken seconds to concoct. He decided to watch the Djinn, to see if his intent was that of good or evil. Clicking his fingers, a chair appeared under his great weight with a small plume of yellow smoke, giving him more comfort.
He hadn't seen a Djinn in a decade or two, and he'd been keeping a tab on this gourd for a while now, as he was quite sure it contained a djinn. However, now that it had appeared, he wasn't really sure what to do with it; it had displayed little malicious intent so far, and the woman seemed to be in control of the situation. She seemed to be running low on food and water, however. With a simple wave of his hands, several loaves of bread and a bottle of water appeared in her bag.
He watched as another person appeared, what seemed to be an angelic. The corners of his lips curled. It seemed the angelic had quite misjudged the situation; she was currently fine. He let out a loud, booming laugh, loud so that perhaps one of the keen-eared beings below might be able to hear.

Ace gave a polite bow to the woman. Hmph. She wasn't too bad. Not as bad as the last guy, anyways. Then she asked about his title, and he froze up. He hadn't been asked that in- well, the last millenia, it felt like. To tell the truth, it was just a name he had come up with and thought it sounded good. He was trying to explain it to her when he was interrupted mid-sentence. "Well, "the Daredevil" is uncommon-"
"Get away from that thing!"
A loud cry was eminent from behind. Spinning, he saw something land behind him with a spear, poised to scramble his insides in one jab. But still, he felt quite offended. Attacking him was one thing, it was what all creatures in this land were supposed to do, but to insult him like that?! Honestly, a creature had a right to be shown at least some courtesy.
"I have a name you know!" He snapped, comepletely ignoring the spear. "For your information, it is Solace. Or rather, Ace. Now please remove yourself from our presence immediately."
“Oy, it’s alright,”
The woman- Levi, her name was, spoke in a tone that reminded him of his mother. It sounaded exactly like her the time when he had destroyed the china cabinet. Annoyed, firm, and strong. Unless the guy was talking to her, they needent worry about the woman. Besides, if she died, it wasn't as if it was his fault anyways. But first, back to his explanation.
"Now, where were we? A yes, my title. I am called the "daredevil" because it is quite uncommon among Djinn, and well, because most Djinn like to have a title to make themselves feel strong and respected, and the name just-"
And then, someone else just had to interrupt. A person with a loud, booming voice laughed out loud, cutting Ace off for the second time. Geez. Why couldn't this just be a normal day, with a normal kill-the-mortal routine, then back into his lamp. Now, he supposed, he would have to see who was making that awful racket. As if he didn't have enough to do.
"OI! YOU UP THERE! IN THE CLOUDS! YES, YOU! WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING SO MUCH?! CAN'T YOU SEE WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF A CONVERSATION?!"

As he heard the woman's and the Djinn's words, Alrick slowed down to a jog, red in the face because of his embarrassing mistake. He had misinterpreted the situation as a dangerous one, but instead, it was quite tame. He lowered his spear, shaking his head, as if trying to remove the fact that he made a mistake.
So that's a Djinn! He thought, as he saw a small container or a sort. Perhaps it was the Djinn's previous home, as he remembered vaguely that Djinn were powerful beings that were supposedly bound to those who had released or found them.
Solace, or Ace, the Djinn, told him to leave, but he wanted to stay and watch him for a while. Ace and the woman continued to talk, paying him to heed at all and leaving him to just watch them in a sheepish manner. After a while, he decided that he should really get on with delivering the parcel, and he was just about to leave when another entity revealed himself by laughing in a loud and surprising voice which rattled him. The voice seemed to come from above, and in an instinctive response, he flew ten feet into the air, spear raised, gradually approaching the clouds above.
"Show yourself!" he yelled, wary of the hidden person.

Levidrona let out a slow sigh. These characters amused her quite a bit, despite her want for just a quiet day of travel. She was trying to get up to Abourno, but why rush now? No reason to worry about those thugs finding her, and if they did, well, she would escape once more. No worries there.
The thief glanced down at her bag, suddenly finding it full of bread and of a bottle of water. Strange, but not worth complaining about. Well, at least that was one thing she did not have to worry about. She wouldn’t even question the food. It was too much of a blessing to question.
Levi stood back a bit, listening to the annoyance of both the djinn and the angelic with whoever this new comer was. The human only gave a slight laugh which she quickly tried to cover up.

Boliko laughed again, as he heard the Djinn angrily call to him from the clouds, closely followed by wary angelic call to reveal himself. He sighed a little; he should really have learnt by now that his laughter was just too great to be withheld by any earthly magic. He sighed, before moving his right hand from right to left, his fingers bent inwards slightly. The cloud above the mountain cleared instantly, fading away into the side of the mountain tops, before he clicked his left fingers together and revealed himself to the others.
He scratched his forehead slightly, before tipping his grey hat towards the right and raising into the air slightly, a gust of wind heralding his seeming levitation. He slowly descended to the ground, his grey cloak billowing out around him and his kind, elderly smile stretching across his worn, wrinkled face. He gave a courteous bow to the human, angelic and djinn, before righting his hat and taking a puff on his brown, hand-carved wooden pipe. Elven runes were carved into the sides of the pipe, and they seemed to glow golden whenever a shape flumed out of the blow hole of the smoking instrument.
Now that he was closer to the other beings, he could feel the natural magic in their own bodies. He could feel the entity of life flowing through them, as Airreviax had taught him. He breathed inwards, and the fresh smell of living beings swirled into his head and body, invigorating the old Maji. He winked at the human, nodding at her bag, before turning to the other two.
"I am Boliko the White, of Airreviax and guardian of Temarra. I believe this lady would like peaceful passage through the mountains." He spoke gently, and yet his voice demanded authority and respect. He ran his right hand through his white beard again, before taking a look at the Djinn. He shook his head at the magical creature, his smile fading.
"You're free now, creature, back to your own plane!" He said forcefully, with only a hint of the light-hearted wizard he had been just moments ago.

Solace winced as the voice let out yet another booming laugh. Geez. He had already been warned once, not including the Angelic, who had shouted a threat of his own and flown off. Note to self: Teach that Angelic some manners. He thought. Being rude wouldn't help anyone, not in this situation anyway.
Several moments passed, and Ace wondered fleetingly if the Angelic or the "voice" had gotten hurt, or if they were engaged in some heroic battle, so Ace would be able to escape or at least finish one sentence.
Unfortunately, he had no such luck. The voice- it wasn't the angelic, for sure, had floated down. Now that they were in close proximity, Ace could feel the magic radiating from the being. He was quite powerful, powerful indeed.
"I am Boliko the White, of Airreviax and guardian of Temarra. I believe this lady would like peaceful passage through the mountains."
Boliko.. why did that ring a bell? Oh yeah- he was the king of Temarra. The White Maji too. Ace wasn't too worried about him. He was supposed to be good, and probably wouldn't hurt anyone unless they had displayed any malicious intent. Which Ace hadn't, of course.
The next words that came out of Boliko's mouth made him respect him even more. Actually, Ace would have gladly traveled to his own plane the minute the girl had released him, except for one fact. "Ah, Boliko, I can't. The man that trapped me in the gourd placed a binding on me. I have to serve whoever let me out. In this case, Levi."

Alrick listened as the voice revealed its true identity. The man who owned the voice stated that he was the White Mage that guards Temarra. Of course, he knew what the Maji were, supreme and powerful beings and all that, but he would've doubted the man's story if he could not feel the obvious aura of power emanating from the man.
Why is he here? Doesn't he have more important things to do than wander around and watch less significant beings? He almost asked this question aloud, but he decided that it would be best if he just continued to listen to the Djinn and the Mage.
He glanced at everyone for a moment, and they seemed to be annoyed at something and he wondered if he had done something to offend them. "Sorry," he muttered in a low voice, hoping that it wouldn't be noticed. He shook his head, embarrassed, and he focused again on the Mage.
The Mage was seemingly accusing them of bothering the woman. "Actually, I wasn't trying to hurt her! I was just really trying to protect her from the Djinn...", he said, looking at the Djinn, and then at the woman. "But I didn't get it right, there wasn't really any danger, and I just got dragged into this...", he explained sincerely, recalling his version of the events.

The human thief gave a laugh, unable to stop herself. She found them all amusing in their own way. The angelic was now worried that he had offended them all. The White Maji Boliko had his own good hearted humor. The djinn, well, it simply amused her that now this powerful being had to serve her.
A powerful djinn serving her, now that was something Levidrona could deal with. What would she do with the djinn? She had not decided yet. No one had ever been a servant to her in her life, so this would definitely be an adventure.
“It’s alright, Angelic,” Levi said with a grin. “No reason to beat yourself up over something so little. Just relax and calm yourself.”
Her eyes moved over to the White Maji who she had seen before in Temarra. The thief had never had a personal conversation with the King of Temarra, but she had known he was a good man and a good ruler.
“It is truly nice of you to visit us,” she said to Boliko now. “Do not worry about this djinn here; I think I can handle him.”

Boliko smiled at the Djinn, repressing his suspicions about the creature. He had dealt with binding spells before. He would be able to free the man - unless, of course, Levidrona wished to keep him. Hopefully this wouldn't be the case, as Boliko required assistance. He ran a gnarled right hand through his beard, his fingers breaking through any hair which tugged against his digits. He raised his left hand into the air whilst holding his white staff, taking a glance at the sun. It was slowly descending. "I could always free you of your binds, though it would be up to your new mistress if you were allowed," He said, nodding at the women.
If she agreed, it would probably take him half an hour to undo the curse that had bound him to the gourd, at the most. He glanced at the angelic when he had finished speaking, before smiling kindly. "I realised you weren't trying to harm her, but Levi here - that's what you said earlier, right? - just wants to pass through the mountain unhindered. I'm not sure why, as this is far out of the way of many human settlements, Temarra being about twenty miles east...", he mused, mumbling on a tad. He smirked slightly, before bursting once more into smile.
He took off his hat for a moment, sliding it inside his cloak. It would be unnecessary, as the sun was already failing.

Ace gritted his teeth, sensing the reaction caused by his words. Here he was, one of the most powerful creatures in Yviex, and forced to serve a human. She wasn't too bad, true, but still, it was a bit humiliating.
Fortunately, part of the conversation went to the Angelic's appearance, as he explained himself and Levi comforting him. "It's okay, it's okay. We all get attacked all the time, anyway." Following that, a small pause between the group ensued, and Ace took advantage of that to ask the Angelic his name. "And you are..?"
Then the conversation turned to his service to Levi. Boliko informed them that he would be able to free him, if Levi agreed. If he was free, he would be able to do so many things.. but then again, he would lose the friendship that had formed between them in that hour. It was fun to be around her, Ace admitted. Still, freedom sounded so promising..
"I shall be fine with anything that my new, ah, mistress says."
Finally, their little talk went to the mage accusing them. "I wasn't bothering her, and if you had watched at all, you would have seen how she found my bottle and let me out. Not my fault." He was a ruler, and a Maji, but still! Ace had his fill of these people. They were so rude, and had pretty much no manners. Staying with Levi would be a lot better than this.

After the others' reassurances that he had done nothing wrong, Alrick nodded and smiled. The Djinn asked for his name, and he responded, rather eagerly, "I'm Alrick Roak, a messenger." He bowed slightly at Ace, who was revealed to be a very powerful being by Boliko the Mage. He realized now that he was very fortunate that he did not get the chance to combat the Djinn, for he surely would've lost his life in that endeavor.
After Boliko's murmurs regarding the reason for Levi's presence in the mountains, Alrick also had to wonder. Really, why were any of them here? Well, he did have a letter to deliver to Abourno and Solace had just been freed from his prison, but what about Boliko and Levi?
He knew that he had no right to question the whims and doings of a great Mage, but his curiosity just could not be quenched by this excuse. "Sir Mage," he called to Boliko. "No disrespect intended, but why are you here in the mountains, so far from Temarra? Surely you have more important things to do..." he asked.

Levidrona looked between the Maji, the djinn, and the angelic. Well, weren’t they all very curious creatures? And weren’t they all very curious to know why the human was out in the mountains? Of course, she would be questioned on why she was here in the first place. Figures.
The thief was debating on what to exactly tell them about why she was traveling through the mountains. Truth was, thugs had been chasing her earlier, but she felt as though these strangers did not need to know that. Her thief life did not need to be thrown out into the open. Most looked down on stealing and the like, and she had no reason to be subjected to such judgment at the moment.
“I was traveling to Abourno,” she said with a slight shrug. “I have to go through the mountains in order to make it to the mountain city. Unluckily, though, I am never prepared for any sort of traveling which is why I ran out of food and water. Which I thank you, Boliko for the water and the bread. It is much appreciated.”
The human’s attention moved back to the djinn who she had released from the gourd. “I think I might be interested in testing your power,” she said to him with a smile. “Sorry, Boliko, but I think I might take advantage of this one’s company for now.”
Levidrona thought for a moment. She would not allow power to get in the way of her thinking. She truly did not have any need for particular wishes, but she found it interesting to have a djinn serve her.
“Of course, I think I would like to know how all of this djinn stuff works. Do I get three wishes or something like that? Or are you just meant to serve me for a while?”
